i've just got to let you know | semi-open
WHO: Iwai and Fai and family, and friends later on for the reception
WHERE: The beach, and then their backyard for the reception
WHEN: August 1
WHAT: They're finally getting married ♥
WARNINGS: Sappiness, most definitely. Will update if anything else comes up.
[It feels a little odd to be holding a wedding on a Wednesday, of all days, and Fai knows it's certainly not the most convenient day for anyone with a job to have to work around, but they've had this planned for some time now--planned, as it so happens, to coincide with that brief period of time at the beginning of the month before everything goes to hell. Again. Like it always does.]
[The Wedding - open to "family"]
[The wedding itself is a simple affair, with none of the bells and whistles of Jirou and Kenta's beautiful wedding the month previous. There's a single arch planted in the sand as a frame for the ceremony, with a small handful of chairs set up in front for the few guests they're expecting. Light, gauzy fabric and a few pretty flowers are all the decoration they need with the beach itself as their backdrop.
In the spirit of the intimate beach theme, neither of them is wearing anything approaching "formal" wedding attire. Both are wearing button-down shirts with the sleeves rolled up and the collars open, no ties or vests or jackets anywhere in sight. The hems of their pants are rolled up as well, and they're both barefoot, because why wouldn't they be?
Fai can't get out of wearing his eyepatch to his own wedding, unfortunately--he's never made the attempt to get a prosthetic, and he's never going to--but with Jirou's help to fix his hair and a flower crown to top it off, it's fine.
He's marrying the person he loves more than anyone else in the world. How could he ask for more than that?]
[The Reception - open to friends]
[The reception is a similarly intimate affair, albeit not quite so small, held in the backyard of Fai and Iwai's own spacious home. Tables are set out with pretty white tablecloths and flowers for decoration, and the cake is beach themed to tie the reception back to the wedding. Tiki torches have been set out for light as the hours stretch on into the evening.
The party won't stop when night falls, though it will head indoors to spare the neighbors the noise. Music of various sorts will be playing, and there are party games and snacks and alcohol and karaoke. And for once, Fai's actually going to join in on the karaoke.]
((ooc: Feel free to jump in at whatever point makes sense, and if there's a question about who would be invited, feel free to ask! Fair warning, this is their last hurrah in the game. It's been fun, Recolle ♥ ))

[Honestly Iwai is spending most of this just hanging off to the side. Sure he's an anti-social person but really that's not what is happening right now. Instead he's just enjoying the peace and the joy people have around him. He's honestly content to be here nursing a beer and watching his friends and family having a good time together.
Good luck getting him to do party games and such though. Not his thing. He's honestly just pleased to sit off to the side here.
But hey. He'll talk just fine. When he's not lost watching his new husband singing beautifully like that.]
[Closed to Fai]
[At some point he comes up behind him and wraps his arms around him, kissing his jaw lightly.]
Hey.
[Smiling gently, he moves around in front of him and gives a nod toward the side.]
Wanna dance?
[Short and sweet and to the point. Just like he always has been. But there's definitely that tone of fondness that only Fai ever gets. And always will get because they sure are married now.
Something he wouldn't have any other way.]

Later on, Kenta comes closer to where Iwai is sitting and holds out a glass. Sake, because there has to be some sake when Jirou is here.]
Congratulations.

[He takes the glass and lifts it up to thank him before having a sip of it as he sits back. Yeah. That's good stuff. Probably these guys who brought it too and he's grateful.]
You havin' a good time?

[Said dryly, because how could Iwai not know at this stage?]

[He gives him an amused look now.]
This is nice though. Honestly it's perfect.

I know this month is a bit... strange and Fai has been stressing out about it. It's nice to see him so happy.

[And he knows sometimes he needs to be Fai's clear head. A role he doesn't mind at all.]

Fai grins at the question. Not that he expected Iwai to hold out on him, at their own wedding of all times, but it's still really cute. He's pretty sure he's never going to stop thinking Iwai is adorable.]
I don't know.... [His grin turns mischievous.] I'm married now, I don't know if my husband would appreciate me dancing with just any handsome stranger that comes along~

[He gives him an amused smile before tugging him with him out to dance. It might not be the thing he's greatest at but you can bet your ass he's going to dance with his new husband. Especially for something as simple as slowly swaying around the floor like they are right now.]
So what's it like being a married man now?

Fai wraps his arms around Iwai's neck and tucks his head down, all but curling up around his husband.]
It's perfect.
[Everything really has been perfect today, barring a few glaring absences.... There's so much to be happy about, and he's trying so hard, but his voice cracks just a little as he says it.
From grinning and playful to a bit of a mess in less than a minute. He's allowed to be emotional on his wedding day though... right?]

He's here for him. That's all that matters.]
Yeah. It's perfect for me too.
