DREAM I.  Twisted Tokyo

[Welcome to tokyo!! It's the year 203x, apparently. Your surroundings look like this.

The first thing you'll notice upon entering Nanashi's dream is how dark everything is. Maybe it's night now? Who knows? There's no sun or moon out at this hour. The sky is noticeably blocked off by a giant rock. It's sort of misty down here and that makes it difficult to tell what's going on. You can make your way around Tokyo using the dim lights from the buildings regardless.

Perhaps you've taken note of how there aren't many people walking around outside. Nanashi knows that it's not safe here. ]

Hey, be careful. I saw something that looked like a monster earlier. Do you know how to fight? 

[He's just wondering. They might encounter more monsters too. Seems like most of the civilians already evacuated.  ]

b.

[The silence is broken by a loud demonic roar. There's a monster standing before you and it seems really powerful. You may have trouble taking it down on your own.  ]

 

C'mon,  let's make a run for it. I don't wanna become monster food. We can still escape with our lives if we run like hell.

[Nanashi's going to drag you by the arm if he has to.]

DREAM  II. Inside the Tokyo tower

[ The civilians are taking refuge here because it's too dangerous outside.  Several men and woman are wounded. Some of them even ill with some kind of unknown disease. Nanashi's off to the side carrying some medical supplies and distributing to those who need it.  If you don't look too preoccupied he'll run up to you.]

Something smells like shit down here. Go and close the windows for me would you? I'd do it myself but I'm kind of busy.

[There is a terrible stench in the air. WHAT COULD IT BE?? Do you want to find out???]

III. Anywhere outside

[It's 10AM. Nanashi's thinking of cooking lunch on this time. His skills haven't shown much improvement lately. That's why he doesn't want to cook on his own. ]

I know this seems sudden, but can I ask you a question? Are you any good at cooking?

[... Please help him, stranger. He doesn't want to burn another meal by accident.]

Don't think there's supervillians in this place. It's only monsters so let's stick together!

[It's one of those weird dreams, isn't it... at least she doesn't recognize this one.]

[It's one of those weird dreams again! Nanashi offers Kara a long knife for self defense.]

[He waves to her and offers a friendly greeting.]

[ Blink. Blink. Well. This is a sudden question if he's ever heard any. ]

Yeahp, if not, I'd be out of a job. What's up?

Do you know how to prepare meat?

[He doesn't know how to make it taste good or how to even start. ]

I'm learning how to cook and I just can't seem to do it right.

I do, I know how to do a fair bit with meat. It can definitely be tricky to work with, I know that.

[ He was lucky to learn from people that lived with his mom. That had been one of the good parts of his childhood. ]

So how would you start making beef?

There's a bunch of recipes. I have no idea which way is the right way.

[Is there even a right way to do this??? Nanashi looks at Gon, puzzled.]

[ Okay, sure. He could answer that. ]

It'd probably be easier to show you than to just describe it, you know?

Good point. If you got a moment to spare I can show you to my kitchen.

Maybe you can tell me how it's done there?

[Then they'll have everything they need.]

[Having grown up in Tokyo, Roji's able to recognize where he is. But that's pretty much where the similarities end for him- everything else about his home city looks...wrong. Why is it so dark? And where are all the people...?

He doesn't have much time to contemplate the state of the city though, because soon enough he comes face to face with that monster. He staggers back in horror, almost letting out a startled shriek before Nanashi starts pulling him away. It's enough for him to get some of his wits back.]

Ah- R-right! Sorry!

[Sorry for practically standing still like an easy target, that is.

He stumbles along at first as Nanashi pulls him, but soon enough he's able to gain his footing and keep up with Nanashi's pace.]

W-What was that thing?

[reaquila]

It's a demon! Have you ever seen one before?

[The monster makes a low growl and starts catching up to them.]

They're not exactly friendly so I wouldn't get too close. Let me know if you find anything that looks like a hiding place.

[They can stop there.]

[Oh god it’s getting closer. Roji muffles another yelp when he looks behind them and sees it gaining on them.]

In anime and games, yeah, but never for real!!

[It’s difficult to focus on anything but running in his state of panic, but Roji manages to keep Nanashi’s request in mind. As the demon gets much too close for comfort, they round a corner and Roji notices an open door in the building beside them. He frantically motions to it.]

Is it safe to go inside?!

[reaquila]

It should be safe. If it's not we can clear it out and make room.

[Nanashi's got magic and summons, they'll be fine. They can fight against anything weird like guards or monsters.]

We'll go in on the count of three. Are you with me?

[Just want to make sure they're on the same page here.]

[So these demons could even be inside... That’s not unsettling to think about or anything. But it’s not like they have much other choice right now with their current threat right on their heels.

That said, Roji manages a shaky nod.]

I-I’m with you!

[And he’s pretty much not going to leave Nanashi’s side at this point. This kid seems to actually know what’s going on.]

Do you know how to fight, Nanashi had asked. Avery huffs in amusement and nods.

"Yes, but I'm usually fighting things that are my size." Though the biting? That wasn't new. "We need to get somewhere safer than this."

It looks really messed up everywhere. I can't think of a safe hiding spot.

[Nanashi looks around curiously. Nope. No safe zones in sight. ]

Well, inside is a start. We can bar the doors. The best bet would be a supermarket of sorts.

Yeah, let's do that. Barring the doors would help us assuming we're not trapped in with other bullshit.

We have to travel down to the residential district and then make a turn. Stay close to me dude.

[ jouhei nods and goes over to do exactly just as nanashi ask, closing every window that he could find. he takes note of the injured and although he only has experience with treating animals, some of that experience can carry over (such as suturing or wrapping bandages). after he finishes what was asked of him, he goes to find nanashi ]

This guy broke his leg and I can't keep him still.

[Nanashi points at the injured adult lying on the ground. ]

Do you know how to reset the bone?

[ if so, jouhei can be the one to hold the man down since he's stronger but if not, nanashi might have to keep him still while jouhei rests the bone ]

[Nanashi looks down at the person in pain. He feels bad for them...]
