WHO: YOU!
WHERE: A classy venue somewhere in the city.
WHEN: June 16
WHAT: ReVA date auction and dance! Saving the city through charity!
WARNINGS: None for now, though let me know if I need to change anything.
NOTES: Here is the OOC post if you need it. Feel free to make your own toplevels, but each eligible date will have their own bidding toplevels as well.

[Welcome to the ReVA date auction! The party is in full swing, and depending on what you're here for, you're either behind the scenes and keeping the party running smoothly, or you're involved in the bidding process and ready to start the party.
If you're volunteering, you might've been the decorating and muscle crew, tasked with all the set up of tables, chairs, and pretty things on the walls before the event. Minako and Jasmine, your main ReVA coordinators, will need help during the event as well, with escorts for the eligible dates, spotters, bouncers, caterers, bartenders, even bidders on eligible dates...anything you can do to help, they'll be happy to put you to work!
Or maybe you're one of the guest musicians! These people answer to Elliot, and he'll be the one to organize the line up on the stage.
There will be a short while for everyone to mingle, but eventually the date auction will start. If you're an eligible date, you'll be waiting backstage until your name is called, so hang tight and practice your most charming smile. If you're a bidder, spotters will be handing out cards with auction rules and details on each eligible date. Bid on whoever you want, and make sure to drop by the cashier's table afterwards if you win the bid!
(And remember that the eligible dates have the right to end the date if they feel uncomfortable, so no funny business.)
You can leave for a more private date elsewhere, or you can spend the time at the dance that will be hosted right after the auction. Dress code isn't too important, but any excuse to dress up is a good one, right? This part is open to everyone, by the way, not just auction participants! Unwind with some refreshments (no alcohol for minors though, of course) and move your body to the beat out on the dance floor. Enjoy the rest of the night, and maybe with some luck, everything you do here will help Zee and the rest of the Retrospec team bring the city and all of its residents back.]

It's his birthday month?
[ He isn't going to hassle his boyfriend to pay for stuff on his birthday month... Especially when it has all gone to shit so fast after the 3rd. That would be evil. ]
no subject
but akira's statement has apollo standing there, blinking, before his face scrunches up in a mix of disbelief and what the fuck.) Is your birthday present to your boyfriend seriously a threeway offer?
(he did not sign up for this, and quite literally at that.)
no subject
No, I'm saying I'm not going to make him pay for things on his birthday month.
no subject
but he does get a little sarcastic, a flat look directed at akira.) So instead, you just throw $1000 at someone you barely know on a date auction.
no subject
[ He is here to support ReVA, especially when their numbers have dwindled during Retrospec's strange combustion. Any money can help them and support their community as a whole. While Apollo holds his sarcastic tone, Akira continues to respond in a soft, neutral voice. ]
It is what it is. Nothing can change that.
[ Your fate has been sealed. ]
no subject
while akira's words hit enough to get apollo to drop some of his sarcastic demeanor, he's still extremely dubious of akira and his intentions.) Look, I'm not denying you're doing something nice by helping the community. But what if you need that money for something else? Like emergencies or rent or groceries. It's a little unnerving to see that much dropped so easily.
no subject
Especially when someone dished out $5,000... ]
I have enough saved for emergencies. If it helps you sleep at night, I usually don't spend this much money.
no subject
he doesn't want his date to be ass broke if he ever gets this bizarre date.) It... does, actually. Reckless spending habits aren't something I'm fond of, so I'd question if you'd even be able to afford a date at all.
(not that he's even still sure about this is any way. he sighs, going quiet for a few moments before speaking up again.) Do I even want to know how you got that much money?
no subject
[ If you think you’re going to be the princess here, Apollo, you’re wrong. It’s Akira’s time to be pampered even if his boyfriend spoils him enough. ]
Hard work.
[ He isn’t lying. ]
no subject
plus akira started all of this by wanting to do something nice for apollo, boy better step it up.
and apollo just squints.) Yeah, vague answers don't cut it for me. "Hard work" can mean way too many things.
no subject
It's fine. He won't try to fight him over it. ]
I work two jobs, some odd jobs on the side, pirate textbooks and when I can't I pay a classmate half price for rights to scan pages for classes, live with four other guys, I cook food at home, I only have one cat to take care of and we make homemade cat food most of the time, and I don't spend a lot on myself, so the allowance I used to get from my parents has been sitting in my account for years.

apollo raises an eyebrow back at akira, complete with crossing his arms, and generally looking like a Disapproving Adult.) So, you put in all that work and save up money... to blow it on a complete stranger at a date auction just to prove a point.
(and apollo has completely forgotten what that point is.)
no subject
That point was made earlier, then I said I could make the purchase without trouble. What people spend with their disposable income, whatever amount that won’t make a dent in necessities, is usually no one else’s business.
