[ For the sake of this prompt working, we're going to pretend either Junes or Freshens has a small food court area since a handful of big grocery stores do. Akira is merely enjoying his meal at one of the tables, checking through his phone at the tasks at hand. Overall, nondescript. Unassuming. Harmless. Look at him? He looks like a nerd?

Shifting his glasses up the bridge of his nose, a bright glint shines across the lenses... As if he has an idea. If you even a blink, you'll find a plate of spaghetti flying straight at your face. This is the first move—it's a call for war. ]

Guess what mystery it is today? Akira is investigating this abandoned place of worship. While all the establishments in this section of Tribunal Terrace is pristine and taken care of well, they've left this relic somewhere in the corner. It's hard to discern what background this building has and records say it was used for a number of religions, hence the odd array of decor inside. There are warning signs in the front (KEEP OUT), some mention that it'll be restored or torn down, but it waits there...

With some of the sky painted, it's actually dark, blanketing the are in pitch black. Even when Akira raises his flashlight, what they find are outlines of the worn down building. ]

I heard that people died here, some possibly related cult activity. [ He scrolls through his phone, picking up the rumor and mystery here. ] This forum says that sometimes you can hear cries here at night, something between man and beast.

[ Yes. They're going to unveil this mystery and figure what the hell this is or die. Whichever comes first. ]

[ Hit me with anything!! Even gen things. It's important to note that Akira is shaken by the disappearances of NPCs, but he's doing his best to keep it together and be reliable. On some days he'll naturally withdraw and keep to himself. ]

[ slowly but surely, the catman has realized that he's made a fatal mistake. as cute as it may seem, dense little bodies are starting to climb up onto him, most of them arfing and boofing at the ears on top of his head. even the timid pupper with the doe-like eyes wants a piece of them, and is licking at Leon's nose with reckless abandon. ]

'Drowned in a sea of puppies' is probably the right combination of eloquence, dramatics, and cuteness.

[ despite the fact he's able to breathe and speak with little issue. that is, until one gets a nip at his ear and he just... puts his head down. ]

[ He can feel the cold cream sinking into his scalp, falling onto and off his brow. Before it can hang on his eyebrows and reach his eyes, he wipes it off after releasing Kei's wrist and taking off his glasses. When he can somewhat see, he puts his glasses into his bag. ]

I think I'll be fine.

[ Is this a small soy sauce bottle? It is. He takes it, pops off the cap, and sprays this seasoning elixir onto Kei's shirt..

[ Akira starts folding, too. It takes a couple of seconds, but he pulls up a cat for Izuku to check out. ]

Mine's a cat, but I like a lot of animals.

[ Akira has seen some demonic wolves from the deepest circle of hell thanks to Magnus, so his opinion would still stand, either way. Not that... He would let Magnus kill him. Green and red make a rather—no, the dark green only lightens up in color when they mix.

When a good portion is painted, the statue is a limbless women. The pews are toppled over here and there while the altar stands in the front. There's other decor from other cultures, but what's ominous is this stain that's darker on the floor in the center. ]

[ Kneeling down, he checks to see what it might be. It's completely dried, seeping into the wood grain. Squinting, he thinks he did hear something, but it was really light. It could have just been the creak from the old boards or— ]

What did you hear?

[ Oi, oi, why are you coming in so fast and furious. With eyes wide, Akira unleashes his own shots as Daisuke comes in. Unfortunately, they're going to be both in lines of fire...

Akira can only run backwards as much as he can, so he has to stop. He tries to get his gun to shoot more, but he's out. The click without waits seeps an emptiness in his heart. ]

Amelia would have crossed her arms, but with a flashlight in one hand and a still-damp paintbrush in the other that seemed unwise. She tapped a foot instead, to get Akira's attention.]

Hm.

[A statue that could have been an off-brand Venus de Milo--a potentially known quantity, though an...odd choice for a church. Of more concern was that stain. Amelia scuffed the toe of her shoe through its edge before painting it, to get a better gauge of its true color.]

[ Oh how wrong Chiyo is... Good thing as far as Akira is concerned, it would be someone he doesn't know. However, he's deducing that this crush probably has Retrospec since she doesn't seem hyper-concerned about them disappearing.

Blinking once, twice, he's suspicious of the jar, but the folded cranes pique his interests anyway. Nodding, he makes note of the glitter instead of being completely suspicious of why there are so many cranes. Betrayal can wait later. ]

Sure. It can't be as bad as the one I wrote for Janet for bingo.

[ While she steels herself, Akira just nudges the bag forward. In it is just an assortment of cat-themed treats made with care! Some... Of the cookies might even sparkle (thanks, Elliot). ]

[ Akira continues to watch, but stows his phone away into his pocket, safe from any puppies from slobbering all over it. Gently, he pushes the ones on him away and walks over to Leon. Which puppy does he need to pry off? He carefully pries some off of Leon, at least the ones that are nipping at his ears. ]

I should have not suggested that, but I forgot about your ears.

[ They've become normal to him now. ]

[ Nanashi thinks it's a good thing, yeah. He can just carry on with life as it is. ]

... I think he would actually enjoy watching it.

[ Goro is actually more of an asshole that enjoys good entertainment than people expected. He loves him wholeheartedly, but he isn't blind to his boyfriend's habits, interests, and pursuits. While it may be gross to watch, it's also fascinating.

Should he even say not eating breakfast doesn't really reassure him? He'll keep quiet instead and nod. Let him believe that he'll survive this. Akira is only here for moral support. ]

okay. deep breaths. he can do this. he takes one slice in his hands and closes his eyes so that he won't gag upon seeing it, bringing it close to his mouth, then chomp.

it's so oily. oily and cheesy, the lettuce too soggy, the patty a bit overcooked, but he's just so hungry right now that he has no choice but to polish it all off in one go?! the power of starvation, everybody. ]

[Shuji regrets this already. He clears his throat, and thinks of the rap he might be able to do the best.

He does know one rap, but nerves have him screwing up some of the lyrics and tripping over his own words.]

[ he murmurs a wordless thanks, feeling great relief of having no canine teeth on those sensitive ears of his, and he sits back up with a few in his lap to give an ample amount of scratches behind their ears. no puppy receives more or less than the others; fairness counts in puppy love. ]

It feels like yesterday that everything sounded... well, different. From one side of my head to the top. But nowadays, I'm more worried about my tail getting in the way.

[ He offers a small nod at his declaration that he would be all right. The plate is righted in his hands as he looks over what remains on it -- very little.

His chin lifts, however, when he hears the sound of a cap being popped off. He stares ahead at nothing, even as he feels the soy sauce spray onto his shirt, already feeling the cold of it against his seeping through onto his skin. ]

I'm relieved to know I need only worry about driving you to the hospital, Akira Kurusu. [ A beat as he pauses to point toward the bottle. ] You carry around soy sauce?

Cats are cute too. They're a little finicky, but I guess I shouldn't say that.

Rabbits can be pretty mean.

[Akane looks back at Akira with concern written all over her face. She heard something that resembled the sound of voices. It's definitely not a ghost though.]

Did you hear it? It sounded like a whisper!

[Maybe they're not alone down here.]

Mmhm. Back then when I got that diagnosis.

[ She continues to rock her one bio hand here, tilting her head a little and glancing at the arm. It did take a long while. It's not the best made ever. Honestly, parts of it are pretty clumpy. But... ]

[ Akira notices the slip-ups, but he doesn't chide Shuji over them at all. He gets a small applause to show he enjoyed the performance. Clearing his throat, he guesses it's hist turn?

The only rap he knows by heart is this cover of Bad Romance... In Japanese—except his tongue gets twisted somewhere. ]

[ He nods. His parents have always held it out, even when they had financial problems in the past. Survivors, the whole family. While Yakuza isn't too surprising, especially when Nanashi has already confessed about his father's background.

But. Uhm. ]

Try not to take too many shots and punches, okay?

[ Don't worry. Akira trusts him to take care of himself. Plus, Nanashi is already dead. ]

[ He's investigating the stain, but does turn to her when he hears the tap. Perking up, he tries to crane his neck so he can check it out before he picks himself up and beelines there. ]

Is it calling to you?

[ He paints it over—instead of a porcelain white, it becomes a dark green. Does that make it worse? ]

[ Blinking slowly, he won't argue whether Goro is ready or not. That's fine. He'll even respect Sena's wishes and not record him trying to conquer the beast to send it straight to his boyfriend. Just today, he will spare his friend.

Despite all of that, he won't lie that this is entertaining rather than difficult to watch. The expressions tell it all. ]
