[[ ooc: So! I'm doing something a little different (at least for me in this specific game) and instead of doing a top level in the event log I'm gonna do a catch-all log here for event related stuff, like some others have done ]]

Man fuck that noise, Retrospec ain't good guys. I mean they ain't bad guys, either, but they ain't our friends. They're supposed to be doin' a job and they suck at it. Repeatedly.

But it's still their job. I mean, I don't like it, but it's not like they're gonna give up the powers to do ... whatever it is they do, to just anybody like us.

Since when have you ever respected someone in power just because it's their job?

That's! ... fair... actually. -May deflated, slumping down and leaning her forehead against the wall. Pretty precarious since she was on a step ladder.-

[ if May fell that'd probably hurt the floor more than her. Yin focused on pinning the cutout on the wall and making it look not-so-crooked. easier said than done with her faculties. ] Yeah, I know. I want us all to be okay, but it's been what... more than a year since this shit started up? Starting to look like we're in this for the long haul.

-May took in a deep breath, hopping down from the stool and turning back to Yin with an attempt at a bright smile. There was some tiredness there, but she still had some sincerity in it, too.-

Hey, bad times don't last, but bad girls do. -She punctuates it with a gentle punch to Yin's shoulder.-

[ Yin had trouble hiding the small smile in reaction to that. ] Yeah.... yeah, you know it. [ she nudged May right back in the same way. then she looked at the wall. ]

You got any sharks to go with this nautical theme?

Just dolphins and whales, but I can make some sharks, no problem~! -May giggled, taking up the scissors and construction paper.-

Hell yes! Now we're talkin'.

[ too loudly, too, if the vague unease of a stare boring into the back of her skull has anything to say about it. ] I mean. Heck yes.

-May couldn't help a giggle.- You'll get used to it, eventually. -Being kid-friendly, she meant.-

Pfft. As if. This is me we're talking about. I was born with enough middle fingers — just lost one along the way.

Yeah, but it's for the kids, yanno? I may be as bad as they come, but even I can put on the angel filter for them.

[ Yin made some exasperated grumbling noises. ] Yeah, okay. Fine.

Maybe I should go give storytime another shot. [ ... ] Except that one kid. Hope he passes out from his cold medicine or something.

Nah, stay here and chill out with me for a minute. -May presented the fruit of her crafy labor, a little shark!-

[ Yin took the shark in her fingers and chuckled. ] Now that's what I'm talkin' about. I mean, it's no Maws but we don't wanna scare people.

That's why I tried to make it cute. Sharks can be cute, after all. Now to make a dozen more and start puttin' em up.

Sharks are cute, even with all the teeth.

Now an octopus? That's scary stuff.

'Scuse you, all of God's sea creatures have their charm.

.... Except that challenger deep shit. That's nightmare fuel.
