[open] [ that picture from the iron giant of the guy yelling ART ]
WHO: Yusuke Kitagawa + OPEN
WHERE: Around Recolle.
WHEN: From 5/3 to 5/12...!
WHAT: Oh just... normal things.
WARNINGS: Excessive use of PAINT.
[ Anyone who runs into Yusuke from the moment he gets his hands on his paintbrush and a paint pot is going to be aware of two distinct things: firstly, that he is an artist and definitely knows what he's doing with the utensils at his disposal. This ain't his first rodeo, that's for sure.
Secondly though, is that Yusuke is painting a lot like a man possessed - he's specifically focused on finding outlines and getting an idea of the layout, despite his well known attention to detail, and just... doesn't seem to be stopping. From the moment he finds his painting tools, he's back tracking to his home and wildly painting the street back into existence.
And this is how he is for the majority of the week. There's a method to his madness though, he's clearly looking for something, and seems to retracing old steps in an attempt to find it. The longer he's at it, the sloppier the paintwork becomes and, quite honestly, the worse for wear Yusuke seems. He only stops when it gets too dark to paint, and returns home, before leaving to begin again early in the morning. Watch him long enough, and you may even catch him swaying on the spot, or heavy lidded, like he's about to fall asleep on his feet.
... Help him? This is just sad. ]

I have said I am fine, so I am fine. I do not need to rest just as this moment.
[ NEVEEEER ]

In the sake of being forthcoming, I don't believe you. You look like you're about to fall over.
Surely you can take a break for only a few minutes, can't you? None of this problem is going anywhere.

The sooner I am finished, the sooner I rest. [ WORK ETHIC. ] A few minutes here and there adds up.

How many things can a man paint if he's fallen unconscious from overwork?
Even if you can still work, you won't be doing high-quality work like this-- you'll be sloppy.

I care little about the accuracy of my work when I am on a very specific deadline with regards to this, thank you.
no subject
All right, she just glares up at him.
He is much taller than her.] I am insisting.
If you will not sit down and take a rest, I will have to make you sit down and take a rest.
no subject
And I am insisting you allow me to continue with my work as before, quickly and quietly. Thank you.
If you that concerned, I will welcome assistance. [ But stopping is a no. ]
no subject
Okay, this isn't working at all. Naoto pinches the bridge of her nose.] You're going to work yourself to exhaustion and I will not be complicit in it.
A compromise: You take a break, a short one. I will do your work for you until you've rested.

...
He frowns, before sighing a little heavily, and nodding. ]
This would be acceptable... [ And he! Flops down to sit. ] But I am not resting for long.

Where were you covering just now? Perhaps you can guide me.

Speed and space rather than detail. I am trying to get a vague idea of the area so I may locate landmarks from prior knowledge.
no subject
Very well, then. [She takes her brush, and steps forward to... honestly, kind of Jackson Pollock it up, just splattering paint off her brush with a flick of her wrist.]
no subject
If we have the need to, certainly. But you are doing good as you are.

this is kind of fun.]
It doesn't matter if things are colored in, as long as people aren't running into walls and lampposts-- I see the logic behind it.

[A pause. She flicks deep blue across steps leading up to a building.] Then again, I will readily admit being a poor aesthetician.

[ Oh. Look at that arc of paint go - bravo. ]
