[CLOSED] Under the Sea

WHO: Eleanor Lamb and Kurt Wagner!
WHERE: Near Pesgare!
WHEN: Backdated to the 20th of last month!
WHAT: Eleanor and Kurt are off on a mission!

[The two arrived in Pesgare and received the full mission information from Zee. Soon, it was time to set off in search of that mysterious creature. A definite advantage of teaming up with Eleanor was that she was aware of the truth about him. So he left his image inducer behind as they prepared to begin their swim, leaving him blue, fuzzy and in his X-Men suit.

He turns towards Eleanor while stretching for the swim.]

You ready for this?

[Eleanor was looking over the paperwork one last time, and she glanced up at Kurt with a little grin.]

Am I ready to go deep sea diving looking for some kind of gold loch ness monster?

[She laughed as she said it, tucking her phone back into the waterproof pocket of her bag, and then shrugged.]

No, I don't think so, but let's do it anyway.

[She waggled her eyebrows jokingly.]

[Kurt can't help but snort and chuckle in response as he slides his own phone into a waterproof... I dunno, fanny pack.]

Exactly what I was thinking! Let's hope this one doesn't... drag on...

[With that, he holds a hand out for a high-five. Or a high-three for him.]

Now let's do it to it!

[Kurt's joke earned him an appropriate groan from Eleanor, even while she grinned, and then she tugged her bag onto her shoulders and moved over to the water. She'd been here earlier in the month too, and this time she had actually worn relatively appropriate clothing, a simple wetsuit with bare hands and feet.]

[It was a bit tighter than she would've liked though.]

Here we go!

[And she was off the boat and into the water, dropping down a good ten feet and waiting as the air bubble formed around her head. Man that was weird.]

[Ah the good old requisite groan! It makes Kurt's grin wider. But now it's time to get his game face on!

His own suit can be a little snug, but it seems that it'll do well enough for swimming in.]

Right! Surf's up! [He declares despite doing the opposite of surfing and then dives in! Sure enough, his own bubble forms around his head while he gives a weirded out glance towards Eleanor.]

I don't think I'm ever gonna get used to this!

[Eleanor had to resist trying to pop her bubble.]

Me either. It's just so bizarre...

[She pursed her lips for a moment, pushing the thought away, and let herself sink down a bit more in the water.]

So, unless I have been turned around, we need to go...that way?

[She pointed in what was vaguely the right direction.]

[This is definitely no time to bust anyone's bubble!

Kurt nods along with her, because her indication seems to check out with him.]

Sounds legit to me. Nessie, here we come! [With that, he starts swimming on ahead. Smooth sailing so far!]

[Eleanor swam after him, looking around as they went. She caught up after a few seconds and grinned.]

Hey, want to see a trick?

You have my attention! [He says, looking intrigued. He wonders what she has up her sleeve!] Show me what you got!

[Eleanor grins, concentrating, and then suddenly she shoots forward, propelled by her telekinesis. She went about twenty yards before she slowed to a stop, bobbing there as she waited for him to catch up.]

I can't do it in air, but water! It's almost like flying.

Whoa, sweet! [Kurt claps his hands as much as he can in the water and then swims quickly to catch up with her.]

You'll win a gold medal like that! How does it all work?

It's...I'm kind of grabbing and throwing myself?

[She laughed.]

I tried it up on the surface like in comic books but never could move myself. But in the water it's way easier.

Whoa, cool! What do they call that, the quickball special? [He smiles in apprvoal as he swims forward.]

Although here it's more like a torpedo! Pretty cool stuff... you're full of surprised, Eleanor!

I didn't know it had a name. [She chuckled.] But thanks! It's nice to not be dull.

[A grin as she gestured towards him, and he'd feel a grip on his shoulders, and suddenly he'd find himself shooting along just like she had.]

Whoa!! [Kurt finds himself being propelled through the water, and he laughs wildly.]

Woohoo! This is so cool! [Teleporting may be fun, but this is much more of a thrill!!]

[Eleanor wisked them along for about a minute or so before they stopped, and she was a bit out of breath as she floated next to him.]

Hoo. That was a bit more draining than I expected.

Whoops... [He frets as he looks towards her, feeling a little guilty in having a part in her burning up some of her energy like that.]

Sorry that I helped you get a little carried away with that. You need a minute or something? [They might not have made much progress, but if a break will help her, Kurt will take it.]

Nah, I'm alright. [She smiled, drawing in a deep breath.] Really, the practice is probably good. Always getting stronger and all that, right?

[She stretched and then started swimming again.]

Alright, so...what do you think we're looking for? I mean, yes, bit underwater dragon but...you think that's really what's down here?

[Kurt nods along, convinced about the lack of a need for a break, then continues swimming onwards.]

Probably? I mean, I never know what to expect when it comes to Retrospec. So why not a giant water dragon? What else could we be looking for?

[Eleanor laughed.]

I wish I could argue with that.

[She turned as she swam, trying to see ahead of them through the water.]

...I think I see rocks over that way. How far out do you think we are?

Same. [At least rocks are something to move towards. He then gives a thoughtful frown.]

Um, probably like... twenty waves out? ...How do you measure in the water?

[Eleanor laughed softly.]

I think it's the same as on land? I just meant, once we're out a ways, we'll hit the ocean shelf. If I were a big gold dragon...that's where I'd hide.

Oh! Right. Good thinking. [He bobs his head to nod along. Although her wording does unintentionally remind him of his mother's own apparent state of being a dragon. Hopefully this won't turn out to be another member of the family!]

Yeah, you'd have a lot more space to spread your legs! ...Or lack thereof!

[Though as they press on, there's more and more debris in their way...]

[Eleanor ducked and weaved her way through the debris without too much issue, at least at first. Eventually they came upon what amounted to almost a wall of shattered buildings, and she drifted to a stop, staring up at it.]

...Well this could be a problem.

[Kurt dodges most of the debris as well with his own sense of grace, and then they stop at that wall.]

Yikes.

[He tries to look for any gap in it, no matter how small. Just to see to the other side...]

Um... How do you feel about a little underwater teleportation?

[Eleanor was pushing at the debris with her power, but it didn't accomplish much. At his question she hesitated.]

Mm. Middlingly uncomfortable but willing to try?

[He frowns thoughtfully as he looks towards her.]

Wanna try it my way? I think I feel a wee bit confident here!

[Eleanor nodded after a few long, hesitant seconds, and held out her hand to him.]

Do I have to do anything too or do we just...go when you go?

[Teleporting was nuts, honestly. But was it any less impossible than the rest of the powers people had?]

All you gotta do is hold on and think happy thoughts! [Okay he might have made that last part up, but it can't hurt?

He smiles as he grabs her hand and then looks ahead towards the other side. One aquatic bamf later, and they're on the other side of that debris!]

Happy thou-

[She didn't have time to finish that, as suddenly she was swept up in his teleport, and found herself on the other side of the debris, watching the bubbles flare around them from the water they had displaced.]

...oughts.

[She finished lamely as she looked around.] Wow.

[Kurt snorts a laugh in response her saying that aloud and then glances around, pleased with the success of their teleportation.]

See? Not too shabby!

[Eleanor grinned, once she had adjusted to what had happened, then gestured forward.]

That way?

Sounds like a plan! [He says as he starts to swim onwards.]

Get ready big guy, cuz here we come!

[She follows after him, scanning the water ahead, occasionally reaching out with her powers to move bits of debris aside.]

I thought we'd see more creatures down here.

[She said quietly. Probably jinxing it.]

[As if on cue, Kurt points ahead.]

Don't speak so soon - check those out! [He sees some fish in the distance! And he starts to swim closer. Although with a closer look, they seem very... different from ordinary fish. And not too friendly-looking on top of it all.]

[Eleanor sighed.]

Sorry, my bad.

[A little smile, as she came up short, turning a bit and urging him in the same direction.]/small>

...Maybe we can go around them?

Man, do they look fishy! [He says as he looks towards them, and he nods at Eleanor's suggestion.]

Yea, let's just try to stay out of their way, and maybe they'll stay out of ours! [He then starts to redirect himself to swim around those fish!]
