A -- gun safety/shooting lessons @ deadeye
Most Wednesdays after work, Tatsuo is at Deadeye for about an hour. The consistency of his aim has steadily improved over the several months since he acquired his other-self's ability to use firearms. But that doesn't mean he doesn't still need to practice. Those that encounter Tatsuo at the shooting range will find him working with a couple different hand-guns, a pair of S&W Model 36 revolvers and a Beretta 92 Vertec. He's more comfortable with the revolvers, as he's had them for longer, but his aim is a little bit better with the Beretta. He's also apparently an ambidextrous shooter.
If he he knows someone is coming for a gun safety/shooting lesson, Tatsuo waits in the lobby, the two small gun cases containing his other-self's guns sitting on the floor next to his feet. A small clear tote bin holds two pairs of safety glasses, two ear muffs, and a box of ear plugs.
B -- working out @ recollé recreation + fitness center (curse option)
Three or four days a week, Tatsuo's can be found at the rec center in the early morning, squeezing in a workout before he has to get ready for work. Depending on the morning, he might be having a more cardio focused work-out, or he might be hitting the weight machines.
If it is later in the month, after Tatsuo goes up to Magatus, he'll be dealing with the curse mark. It starts on the inside of his right wrist with a pair of dragons entwined in an infinity symbol, but then it starts climbing up his right arm until it disappears under the edge of his right sleeve. Except it doesn't really disappear, because the glow of the mark is still somewhat visible through his workout shirt. The mark doesn't stop at the top of his arm. Instead, it wraps around his shoulder to form a larger double dragon design across the top half of his back.
C -- needing caffeine @ a coffee shop (curse option)
Tatsuo could make his own coffee. Often he does, for the sake of his wallet. $40+ for a month of cafe coffee or $8 for two months of homemade coffee? Single serving coffee makers are the best. But sometimes he rolls out of bed a few minutes too late or he doesn't want to go back home after going to the gym in the morning. On those days, he joins the throngs of bleary eyed individuals in line at a nearby coffee shop. Once it is his turn at the counter, he orders his usual, small dark roast with two sugars and soy milk.
But later in the month, the caffeine just... is not working as well. The fatigue that started in Magatus has gotten worse. At first dropping a shot of espresso in his coffee helped. Then two shots. Now he's up to a dead eye with two pumps of vanilla and a whole lot of half-and-half in an attempt to cut the bitterness. But as he sits at a table near the front window, Tatsuo gives a small shiver. He might even appear a little flushed.
D -- getting off task @ recolle crime lab
Generally, Tatsuo isn't the sort to bring his own projects to work. Actually, that's a bit of a lie. Ever since getting the Retrospec app, Tatsuo has been sneaking objects and samples into the lab in order to take advantage of the equipment he has at his disposal there. This month is the first time he's ever brought something for himself.
The object is small and silver, a necklace with an ouroboros pendant. Tatsuo runs a number of tests on the pendant, figuring out what kind of silver it's made of and where the silver might have come from. As he waits for the mass spectrometer to finish running a test, Tatsuo turns the pendant over in his hands, looking at the detailing and wondering what other tests he can do to it.
E -- class time @ utsuki dojo
Tatsuo can be found at the Utsuki Dojo most evenings of the week. Monday night is for himself, the black belt class, as he continues preparing to test for his next rank. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday he teaches, first the adult beginners on Tuesday and Thursday, and then the self-defense class on Friday.

D
What's that you have there?
Re: D
Officer Ritter, hello.
[He holds up the necklace so it dangles from his fingers]
Retrospec gift.
no subject
I see. Is it going to explode?
no subject
[Tatsuo flicks his wrist and catches the pendant in the palm of his hand]
I'm about 92.5% sure it's silver.
[a terrible joke]
no subject
[tatsuo what the fuck]
no subject
[he's about to say sterling silver when his computer beeps with the results from the mass spectrometer]
Huh. That's higher than I thought it would be. It's nearly 100% pure.

... I'd be willing to bet it was a gift of some kind.
no subject
[and how L O L just not yet]
no subject
[since it's weird and tatsuo isn't fashionable enough to just pick it up on his own]
no subject
[then Tatsuo squints at the notes he's made about the necklace]
Wait a sec. If it's nearly pure silver it should weigh more than it does. A mixed alloy could be this weight, but not something that's nearly pure.
[Tatsuo checks the numbers a second time, and comes to the same conclusion]
So then, why is it lighter?
a
Hi... Are you Kihara? My name's Arisato. For the lessons.

[Tatsuo stands up and offers his hand to Minato.]
Nice to meet you in person, Arisato.
[He's kind of eyeing Minato closely though, considering he is looking a little rough.]
no subject
You too. Um... I guess you should go over general safety rules, before I touch a gun.
[ Right to business. He's not inclined towards small talk. ]
no subject
[Tatsuo points to the clear bin next to the chair he'd been sitting in]
Treat every weapon as if it is loaded. Keep the end of the barrel pointed down range at all times, if it is not in a case.
[he taps the side of the case he's holding]
Keep your fingers away from the trigger unless you are firing. When you finish firing, double check the chamber to make sure the firearm is completely empty. I'll show you how to do that once we're inside the range.
Don't, under any circumstances, enter the firing lanes and do not shoot anywhere except in your lane.
These are the main things you need to keep in mind safety-wise, past the obvious 'don't point anything at another person.'

Either way, Minato nods along to the list of rules; most, if not all, are intuitive and easy to comply with so long as he keeps his awareness about him, and he doesn't plan on getting shot this month while he's got important business to attend to in the coming week. ]
Got it. Easy enough to remember. And follow. [ he adds after a pause, since those are two different things. ]
no subject
Good. Everything else is easiest explained hands-on. They'll need you to sign a waiver at the desk, then we can go our lane.
[Tatsuo nods at the desk where they'll take Minato's ID for the duration of the lane time and have him sign an agreement form to act responsibly while on the premises.]
no subject
That's done. My aim's pretty good with other things, but it's stuff like being able to hit a moving target, while I'm moving, that's what I want to learn.
no subject
Deadeye does have one section set up outside that you can walk through. It's mostly used for police training, but the public can give it a go too. It has some moving parts, but not really moving targets.
If you really want to work on how to aim at and hit moving targets, you need to do some paint balling.
[Tatsuo takes a moment to consider how the range has its various lanes set up.]
Let's use one of the outside straight lanes first. You said you've not used a real gun before. So you should try one first before trying the walk through set-up.
no subject
Sounds good. I'll follow your orders, so just tell me what to do.
no subject
So, I've got a couple different guns you can try. One is a revolver and the other a pistol.
[He opens the two cases so Minato can see. The first contains a pair of Smith & Wesson Model 37 revolvers. The second contains a Beretta 92 Vertec.]
A!
Hey, Tatsuo! Sorry I'm a bit late. Bit of last minute staff meeting at work.
[he's got his usual enthusiasm and his backpack with him.]
Did you already pay for the usual...?
Re: A!
Hey! Yeah, already got it reserved. Just sign in and we'll head back there.
[Tatsuo fishes out his ear protection and safety glasses, then grabs his gun cases before heading over to the door that leads to the indoor lanes.]
no subject
How have you been, man? I'm super excited for those cop stories of yours.
no subject
[granted, he only thinks that way right now because he hasn't gone to Magatus yet]
Sometimes I think Other-Me is cursed or something. I don't know how a detective at a secondary precinct keeps ending up with so many serial killer cases.
[Tatsuo got an outside lane today, just because the weather has been nice. He pauses by the door to put on his protective gear before heading outside.]
no subject
[he hums, copying tatsuo in putting on the protective gear and hurrying towards the open lane fort hem. the weather's nice enough, and prompto's quickly squatting to tie his shoe laces tighter.]
[he looks up at the other]
Serial killer cases? Do you at least get to catch them?
no subject
[for various reasons ranging from bureaucratic bullshit to... murder]
Though, in the end, what matters is that they were stopped.
[one way, or another...]
closed -- matt
Until one morning he can barely get out of bed. Between the flu-like symptoms and the lack of sleep due to nightmares, Tatsuo is a mess. He manages to call in to work sick, but forgets to text Matt to cancel plans to meet for lunch. Frankly, he forgets quite a few things, like charging his phone so it doesn't die halfway through the day.
