On board I'm the captain so climb aboard (Closed)

At the appointed hour, and fully prepared to wake May up from her slumbers prematurely, Chloe made her way to the boat. She knew it was out of town and had gotten directions, so when she caught sight of it, she walked up to the edge of the boat and the planks leading on and then stopped. No, no, she remembered this part of the whole venture. It was rather important, was it not? Yes, it was very important that she at least attempt something before entering.

"Permission to come aboard!" she said as loud as she could manage. Standing there in that cloak of hers, she imagined she looked silly, but she would feel bad if she did not at least give it a few seconds to see if the sound did the trick. She'd roust the girl after that, if no sounds came.

The cabin was closed, but it was no doubt Chloe could her a loud "WHAT THE FUCK!?" shouted and several crashes before one of the windows was propped open and a bed-headed May peaked out, looking a little embarrassed to be caught still sleeping...

"Oh... Hi... Are you wearing a cloak?"

She laughed at that, shaking her head with a bit of mirth. "Yes, yes I am. Do not worry. I will take it off once we are sailing," she said, because even she could tell that proper sailing would not like that sort of thing. "But more importantly, do I have permission to come aboard, captain?"

"Oh, yeah yeah, just gimme a sec to get dressed and throw down the gangplank..." May shut the window.

After a few moments, she emerged from the cabin, where getting dressed apparently meant putting on an oversized throwback jersey and some bike shorts. Her hair was still kind of a mess, but she was at least awake enough to roll out the gangplank without much trouble.

"There we go..."

"Thank you." It was like a long, green statue sort of flowed its way up, the cloak never seeming to shift all that much while she walked. When she got onto the ship, she smiled over at May, the expression barely visible over the lip of the fabric. "So, now, I believe a tour is in order, before we take a tour of the waters, yes?" Yes, it seemed like a nice idea to see what May's ship was like, didn't it?

"I gotta admit, that thing looks cool as fuck," she meant the cloak, of course. "Anyways, as for the Mayship, it's a pretty simple cabin cruiser. The main cabin is basically my house and uh... needs to be cleaned. So we're not going in there just yet!"

"It is alarmingly good at dealing with the cold as well," she admitted as she walked on, nodding towards the ship. She looked it over from the top and laughed when the topic of cleaning was brought up. "It seems quite the small place to live. I take it you are good at living in cramped quarters?"

'Alarmingly' good, May thought to herself, sounded kind of... Anyways.

"Eh, it fits six people pretty comfortably, and it's got a fully functioning kitchen in it, so I live pretty nicely, all things considered. But it's been my home for years now. I'd never trade it in for something bigger."

It reflected the fact that, as comfortable as she was with the cloak, she was uncomfortable with how comfortable she was. It was her cloak. She wouldn't doubt that now, but she didn't like that it was. Still... it was damned good in the cold. She wondered if it was really decent in the heat too.

"The comfort of the familiar. So, how often do you set sail with it, if I may ask? It isn't really the season yet, is it?"

"I keep her active and running from spring to fall, and let her rest in the winter. Cold water is bad for her motor, after all, so I like to avoid it when I can," May clicked her tongue, opening up the cabin door and gesturing for her to come in.

Chloe followed her in, looking around the slightly tight confines with a curious eye, observing the place that May called home. "So you say that you can have a crew of six. What do you do most of the time from this? Fish?"

"I know a few great fishing spots, but for the most part, I just like setting out into the water and just, I dunno... Moving around. It feels like freedom," May opened the small fridge near her unmade bed, apparently a couch pull out bed, taking from it a bottled soda. There was a bottle opener on its side, and once it was uncapped, she downed about half of it in one prolonged gulp.

"AHH!" she sighed loudly, shaking her head. "Hoo... that wakes me up..."

She smirked, leaning against a wall and listening to May, nodding. "And, so during the summer months, you give tours, and you do odd job during the winter months?" She laughed a little. "I must say, you live quite the bohemian life, in a way, do you not?"

"I live a life that's free. That's what's important, right? People can judge all they want, but in the end, what matters is that I'm free from the everyday shackles that keep most people held down," May shrugged, finishing off the soda before setting the bottle down on the counter beside the fridge.

"So! Let's take her out for a bit and break into that rum, yeah?"

She laughed at that and nodded for a moment. "Yes, I suppose you do seem to love your freedom," she could freely admit. In fact, if there was anything about the girl she'd caught on to, it was the fact that she seemed to relish that freedom more than anything else.

"And I think that I would enjoy that. Away from the world, cutting loose with a bit of rum. what could go wrong?" Oh, probably everything, but she was prepared for that.

"In that case, I'll get this lady ready to roar. You can chill out in here if you want," May did a few stretches before slipping on a pair of work gloves that were beside the still unmaid bed.

"If having super strength has given me anything, it now takes me half the time to get this thing untied from the pier."

She chuckled and relaxed into her seat while May got started. "I can only imagine, but if you want any help, just let me know. Besides, there's no reason I can't enjoy the sun and sea as well as we sail out, yes?" Well, there was one good reason. She had no idea how to actually sail, which could be a serious damper on the whole prospect.

"You're guest, not crew. Guests don't work. So sit your ass down and drink your rum," May laughed on her way out, and it really did not take her any time at all to coil up the ropes and draw the gangplank back up. Hell, she bypassed the automatic anchor retriever and pulled the damn thing up herself.

She laughed up at May while she walked out and took a glass of rum to sip. Rum, straight rum, was not something that you just gulped, now was it? She watched through the doorway up after May, curious to see what she was doing, and the sight of her yanking a ship anchor up was both alarming... and a little exciting.

"You are insanely strong, you know!" she shouted after her.

"I've started to get used to my own wacko strength," May shrugged, settling the anchor down and pulling off her work gloves as she headed over towards the main deck, where the console was.

"I see. Exactly how strong are you, I wonder?" It certainly seemed the question to ask someone who could pick up a ship's anchor like that, almost as if it were a child's toy. "I see that it hasn't disappeared or anything."

"I'm pretty sure I could bench a car," May gave a smug little grin as she pulled out her keys, turning over the ignition as the ship's engine started to hum to life.

She blinked as she said that. Her eyes popped at the thought of it. She'd heard stories of desperate mothers having the adrenaline to lift cars off of children, but that was inches, a foot at most, and usually threw their back out. Strong men competitions might lift modern, light-weights a bit... but bench pressing?

She leaned up towards the doorway, watching as the engine began and raising her voice a little. "It is a bit as if you were some sort of superhero, no?" Or supervillain, but she wasn't saying that.

"Well let's not get ahead of ourselves," May pulled the throttle and away they went, into the blue yonder.

"I haven't figured out what I'm meant to do with this power yet. I'm not exactly the heroic type, you know..."

"Well, neither are all comic book heroes, you know. Some of them are those anti-heroes. All too popular these days. You could dress in black and learn to brood like some malcontent, no?" She laughed as she said it. May, in all black? Kind of hard to imagine.

"Nah, that ain't me, either," May shrugged, reaching into a cabinet below the console and pulling out two tumblers.

"Pour me some rum and I'll think about it, though."
