I know, I'm not a little kid anymore
WHO: Sakura Kinomoto, OPEN
WHERE: Fai's house! Since she lives with him now.
WHEN: April 1st, early afternoon
WHAT: Sakura's friends are invited to a party for her birthday.
WARNINGS: None?
[Maybe some arrived earlier, to help get the food ready or set up any decorations. Most of it is ready, though some preparation might be more last minute in that morning once she has opened presents from her family - after dealing with an initial prank from her brother, given the date and all.
She hadn't anticipated anything too huge or fancy. Though that might end up debatable given how Fai tends to spoil her at the best of times. Still, the house should hopefully be big enough. She hopes. Sakura fusses a little with her dress, her hair, before coming to try offer to help with any last minute decorations or anything. Once people do start arriving, everyone is free to mingle and enjoy the food and drinks (non-alcoholic).
Sakura tries to get around to say hi to everyone, sometimes but not always managing to be the one to answer the door. She seems to be enjoying herself, glad of the chance to catch up with everyone in person, even if some might not stay all day. And given the weekend, given the holidays, she isn't so worried on staying up late either. She joins in with mingling, and might be easier to corner and get some one on one time later in the afternoon/evening, once others might have already gone home.
She doesn't have a traditional cake, but a number of cupcakes for everyone instead, with those and the rest of the snacks provided being made by Fai. With Xiaolang's help, and maybe Sakura managing to somewhere in the process of making it all.]

[Fai was offering to help with her hair at least, and he was asking if she had already chosen what to wear. So. She isn't entirely forcing him in this at least? Right? She glances back to the bed briefly in seeing some options laid out there.]

I'd love to! I'd offer to help with your makeup too, but you're way too young for that!
[Playfully, Fai puts on his best "stern parent" look. Which lasts for about two seconds before he's laughing and smiling again, making it obvious that he's only teasing. He reaches out to ruffle her bangs a little, fondly.]
Besides, you're way too pretty to need makeup!

[Not unless like, chapstick or tinted moisturizer perhaps, would count. Which it doesn't really. Sakura can't help but to close one eye when she feels that hand at her head to ruffle her hair. Not even minding that in then needing to fix it. There was no rush, given how early she'd woken this time, for once.]
You think if we choose the outfit first? Then getting it on wouldn't mess up my hair or anything.

[He really does. And hey, if there was ever any doubt that Sakura's adoptive dad is/was a drag queen, welp. There we go.
He ruffles her hair lightly again and then takes a small step to the side, just to get a better look at the outfits she's laid out without seeming like he's barging into her room.]
Depends on the outfit! If it's something that'll be easy to slip on, I usually do hair and makeup first. That way you don't end up with makeup on your dress or hairspray ruining the fabric. Which outfit are you leaning toward so far?

[That he wouldn't mind? Well, he probably wouldn't be here offering to help if he did. He could have let her get on with it but he's here and offering to help her out to get ready for her special day.]
Ah, that's true. I hadn't really thought on it that much. But I was thinking either of these two?
[She gestures to two dresses on the bed in particular, having been trying to narrow it down more.]

Sakura-chan, my best friend is a drag queen. Most of the time when we get together we end up playing dress-up or doing each others' hair or shopping for pretty things. Of course I don't mind! It's kind of a wonder I've lasted this long without trying to doll you up, honestly!
[His gaze travels back over to the dresses laid out on the bed, lingering longest on the first.]
Oh, you'd look amazing in that one! I mean, either one, but~!

[Because yes, she notices how he lingers on that first dress in particular. Which basically settles it as the one she then reaches for. If she couldn't decide, at least she could ask him to help her choose between them. It isn't like she wouldn't wear the other, but just not today specifically.
Well. Not unless she had to change from spilling her drink or something. But hopefully she wouldn't have to make more laundry that way.]
