[ After receiving a message from Zee, Kaede is pumped to actually do some work and get some mapping done. She messages Michel, suggesting a time for them to meet up.
A day or so before they set out, Kaede goes out to buy food and other provisions for their trip. Her backpack is stuffed full with different things they might need, including money and tools for mapping.
When the time to meet up finally rolls around, Kaede is standing where they agreed to meet. ]
Are you ready? I was thinking we could rent a boat to get there. I bet the scenery would be really nice!

[There's gotta be a boat rental place around here that will allow two young adults the ability to borrow them out for a few days, right? Like this building next to the boat that literally says "Boat Rentals".]

[Inside he disappears. If she comes in, she'd find him talking with the owner and trying to get a deal before bringing out a black-looking holographic card. If she didn't he'd eventually come out with a pair of keys in his hands.]

Unfortunately it isn't anything special, and she looks at the different rental deals before eventually making her way over to Michel. The card he takes out surprises her, and she makes a mental note to ask him about that later. After all, they're going to have plenty of time to talk.
When Michel finally gets the keys, Kaede starts to get pumped up. ]
I'm excited to ride the boat! I've never been on one like that before.

[Cough. Right. Anyway.]
Anyway, I wasn't sure what your size was for your lifejack [he knows it's not wise to ask a girl her measurements], so just let the guy know, and we'll be ready to go.
[Once that's done, they'll get to their ride.]
Nice, there's enough space to put our stuff in the back! Did you bring waterproof traveling bags?
[He's brought an extra if she hasn't.]

The boat looks really nice and she's even more excited to ride in it. ]
Ah, I didn't think of that, actually... I was so focused on bringing supplies.

[He brings out another of the fancy yellow bags, and gives it to her to put all of her things.]
Dad used to bring us in the wilderness during vacations. We did canoeing once, so that's why I remembered.
[He gives her a thumbs up before he takes out a...self-crane and sticks his go pro on it.]
How about a photo before we set off? Once you're done packing, of course.

That's a great idea! [ And she'll pose for the picture. She's glad he thought to bring a camera since this trip will probably have a number of opportunities for photos.
Once they're done taking the camera and are getting onto the boat, Kaede looks over at Michel. ]
What was canoeing like? I bet it was a lot of fun!

Well it's great until you flip over. [He laughs good-naturedly.] Or when your siblings try to knock you off your own. I think my mom might have had a heart attack at one point. But yeah, those bags saved our buts and tween possessions.
Have you ever driven something like this before? We could take turns..I could teach you!

I haven't, but it would be great if you could teach me! It looks like a lot of fun to drive.

[They have their safety floating devices and everything is set up so why not? When they go on, he jumps on the driver's seat.]
Once we get her out of the port, I'll show you. It's probably not a good idea to do this here...based on personal experience.
[He slammed into a few boats back then. You know. NBD. He learned. Now when the boat leaves, it is slow and calculated as he made sure that they aren't hitting anything. Once that's done, he stands up to give her space to scoot over and take control.]
Here's what we'll do. I'll man the motor in the back so you can concentrate on driving. It's a bit like a video game or a bumper car...only no bumping in this one haha...

[He'll start it slow just in case they suddenly slam into one side, before increasing the speed as they move around in the open waters.]
