Just what kind of trouble do you get up to?

Rehearsals run according to a schedule, where not everyone is needed every session. People are invited to attend them all, but the people with the biggest roles need to come most often, and scenes are practiced both in the theatre and in smaller rooms within the community center depending on the space needs that day.
During one session, the overhead sprinkler system activates due to a system malfunction, leading to everyone being rained out of the community theatre. The show must go on! Towels and paper towels are rescued and offered around while rehearsal is then held on the community center basketball courts and playground.Remember, when it comes to luck, all should be wishing each other to break a leg. Enjoy the food when it's catered, enjoy the arguments over line delivery, enjoy repeating the same stage entrance in countless tiny variations, enjoy the set construction, enjoy the choreography, enjoy the costuming or the makeup; enjoy anything you get up to, or complain loudly. It's all part of the experience!
In another session, a giant ship, wave, and a white whale cardboard cutout have been brought out on stage while storage rooms are being cleared out. Ready to get your spontaneous Moby Dick on? There aren't any harpoons, but the practice foam swords might be a good theatrical stand-in.
In yet another rehearsal, three chihuahuas end up running havoc through the theatre, requiring coralling and capturing. They're flighty and good at hiding, but mysteriously are attracted to cheese and anyone speaking cheesey love lines (Romeo and Juliet, looking at you); they also gleefully run off with any script left low enough for them to reach, attempting to tear it to shred.
As stage sets are built and pained, the stagehands helping out may be on hand to help fill in as extras on set, or nab an actor currently not reading lines to help move pieces of the scenery. They also need to test out the balcony they've rigged: surely you won't mind getting up there and leaning over to wave down at your companion in set-construction hell? Too bad the ladder breaks after you've reached the top. Fifteen feet isn't much of a fall! (Don't fall, please.)
Costume fittings and make-up tests are part of later rehearsals, but they're supremely necessary. Helping each other in and out of costumes, helping with the costumes themselves, getting pinned up, getting measured; all of it happens as the co-director's vision is brought to life. Only why does everything seem to be so.. fancy? (Because they're going full game of thrones on the costumes — it's a mish mash of styles!) And why are you in costume and being requested to helping go for the emergency coffee? Go on. No one's going to stare too much! Cosplayers!!!
There may be an impromptu fashion show, there may be ongoing choreography for group scenes as well as the fighting scenes. What happens if Mercutio or Tybalt refuses to die? Sometimes you just want to live, guys. You want to live.
Just what kind of trouble do you get up to?

( kidding. no, no she isn't. he points up at her with the sword and frowns, shaking his head. )
Stop moving around! Can't you climb back down or something?
no subject
Да. I can. Mm, but then I will not finish the job?
[SHE'S SO DETERMINED HERE]
no subject
( he's staring up at her. waiting. )
no subject
One step is not enough.... is it?
[Actually she's not sure.
What if two steps leads to her falling. It looks like it's finally starting to dawn on her?]
no subject
( ignoring if it's practical to haul how many pounds of sand up a ladder to slide along anywhere. it very much is. for... other people. )
no subject
but this job was given to Anya. who seems to be considering this option now and is looking around even as she's not actually descending the balcony??]
Does Yuratchka see a sandbag?
[IT'S HER JOB NOW]
no subject
( he hasn't moved. or looked around. he's staring up at Anya and crossing his arms over his chest. )
no subject
Yuratchka does not want Anya to help....?
[she was just trying to make up for the slacking she did earlier with the whole kiss fiasco]
no subject
( yes, he's still staring at her, now tapping one foot more out of nerves than anything else. he doesn't do staying still well. )
Will you please come down here?
( he pauses, slowly uncrossing his arms. his fingers drum against his hips before he kind of low key holding out his arms in an implied hug. LOOK. IF HE HAS TO BRIBE HER. )
no subject
because she's looking uncertain, more interested in doing this assigned job correctly, up until he's holding his arms out. aaaaand then she's wordlessly complying as she turns to head right back down the ladder
like an overly affectionate moron
who is immediately making a beeline for yuri's arms and returning the gesture with a hug of her own even as she frowns in concern]
Everything okay?
[she just immediately assumes if something was bothering him he wouldn't want to talk about it in English anyway
she just got played 100%]

he grunts as she hits him, hugging back on reflex trained in to him more by the way Dave and Anya both show affection than even how he was with his grandpa. he's the initiator there. this is more about others.
he responds in Russian, simple and to the point. )
Now it is with you back on the ground.
( he'd been worried, and he casts a suspicious glare back up at the now empty balcony. he thinks at first the waver he sees in the wooden structure is his mind playing tricks on him. he realises a beat later that's not the case as it lists forward and starts to creak and whine. Yuri's eyes go round with horrified realisation that this shit is coming down; hugging Anya as he is, he pulls her along with him as he stumbles back and trips as the whole of the balcony comes crashing to the stage right in front of them and where they'd moments before been standing.
ropes dangle and the ladder clatters down on top of the tipped over balcony. Yuri had relaxed into the fall with Anya, too well trained to not; just as soon as they both hit the stage, Yuri grunting at the double impact, he's pushing them back up into a sitting position and hauling them both backward with a scooting-sliding scramble. eyes still wide, every response traded off for SUDDEN OUTRAGE, he shouts (sorry for your ears, Anya): )
What the hell was that? Why were they sending anyone up there! Nastenka, the freaking balcony collapsed!
( pointing this out with his heart still racing and one arm up to gesture at the collapsed wreck and the other people who are running up to check that they're okay, as well as figure out what happened with the balcony and how damaged it is (if it's damaged at all in the first place). all of it is a touch absurd: however, Yuri's still in the irate phase of processing.
laughter can come later. )

Anyway, that's a lot of manhandling. Anya was just about to open her mouth to complain, considering the fact that Yuri definitely tricked her into coming down - except that quickly proves to be a blessing as the setpiece that she was just perched on comes crashing down. The only protest she seems to have to being carted around is a small squeak of surprise, which isn't much protest at all as she opts for burying her face in Yuri's chest once she hears the groan and creak of the whole thing coming down. She startles at the final crash, which pretty much convinces her not to lift her head until it's definitely safe...
It's a blessing for her ears since she's a little further away from Yuri's mouth when he starts yelling, at least.
Still, she peeks up once she hears other footsteps - followed by her insisting immediately with a weak smile:]
Да. Yes, we are okay. Нет. No, not hurt. Um - please check on the balcony?
[Which is her way of ushering away any poor helpers who might face Yuri's wrath once it all clicks that she could've been up there when it came crashing down. Please, no war path today.... Which is why she'll finally straighten up to sit up, placing one hand on his shoulder and using her free one to brush his hair out of his face.
Eye contact!
Because he... probably won't get mad at her, right? Maybe.]
Are you okay?
no subject
he's close to glaring back, but his eyes both shift to a line of sight beyond her shoulder, then back to her own. it's harder for him to look away like this. it's disrespectful. )
Are you? That would have been you, you know! Those irresponsible idiots — I don't know that I could have caught you if you fell.
( it feels a little odd having his face fully exposed, but it's fine, too, because it's Anya. he returns the gesture, or tries to, in holding her shoulder; he more ends up with one hand resting on her upper arm. )
You're not a stage hand. Why'd you keep moving forward even when things didn't sound right?
( why had he needed to bribe her down with an offer of a hug? he's glad on the other hand that they're speaking in English again. maybe others will hold her accountable like this, too. )
no subject
she doesn't pull back or shrink away from it even though some part of her kind of wants to - she's still not used to being scolded no matter what it is - but she realizes that if she does that it might open up the chance for yuri to bite at everyone else who's helping out too....
one way or another she's choosing to take one for the team for claiming his attention for now, even if it's not good attention at all.]
I am fine... I promise. [to clarify, if that'll get him to calm down about one thing] Because Yuratchka helped... I know that.
[she definitely could've gotten hurt if she was acting just on her own sense of judgment and she knows that too. that's a little difficult to deal with. she does a lot of reckless things but she's also been confident enough in her ability to take care of herself most of the time that it's all turned out okay.
but she put herself in danger so that she could help other people now and that could've ended very, very poorly. and yato and chuuya and all her dear friends are so close - they would've been distressed too if something happened to her. that thought manages to get her to frown, her gaze falling for a second as her heart aches at the thought.
except eye contact is important, so she looks back up to yuri even as her shoulders fall and she definitely appears like the equivalent of a sad kitten in the rain]
I wanted to help - but so much so that I.... осторожный? Mm...
[she shakes her head. with all the competing thoughts in her head (I just wanted to help. But I could've gotten hurt. But I wanted to put all of my focus into something. But I didn't think it would end badly. But-) she finds it hard to focus on English too.]
I wasn't careful enough. You're right. I'm sorry to have caused you trouble too...
