[And Yoon-sung grins, a little relieved to see that Prompto was actually perking up now they were moving from the unfamiliar air of the club to something he was comfortable at. Sure, there might not be any cute girls to try to pick up, but he would at least not feel so over-whelmed while he was bashing monsters.]

Do I get to keep the loot and experience my character gains if I use my own?

You keep the loot as long as you survive the run. But I can always toss in something extra for your time and trouble.
