[ We all scream for ice cream! It's one of those neatly aesthetic ice cream parlors that normally has a line out the door in the middle of the shopping district. yet depending on the time of day, the chalk-sign might say in a neatly curling cursive: free ice cream on Zee Carlisle!
... that second part's not true, of course. But who ever said that Baren's honest?
Additionally if anyone had gone on a mission over the month to one of the four regions - they'll get a special text invite to free ice cream. :') good job, y'all.
i ) That said, the first part is! There is definitely free ice cream being offered out to anyone on the Retrospec app. What flavor's caught your eye? Pecan Cherry Pie? Wildberry Mango Chocolate Delight? ... there's normal flavors too, but you really should adventure out a little bit, don't you think? At least don't freak out if you find a surprise gummy worm inside.
... or do. Baren miiiight be recording it.
ii ) The owners are feeling generous - or at least Baren is. Enjoy an extra scoop or - five? Did you get more ice cream that you asked for? Tanuki-san is sitting around, eyeing your mountain there. [ The bus ride to Magatus is 7 hours long. Rather than using the usual bus - there might be dried blood on those seats? - Baren has booked a party bus. Yeah, there's probably a disco ball and a stripper pole. He doesn't intend on using it, he just thought it was funny to have.
i ) Did you even know what you were signing up for when you climbed on? Baren has picked one of the seats in the back - yawning as he looks almost ready to set in for a nap. Yet when he makes eye contact with you, there's a raise of a brow and - ]

It's worth noting that this moose has beautiful, colorful flowers woven into his antlers. They don't look like they're about to wilt any time soon.

Mm... Not really. It was more like free ice and snow, since we all went north to Magatus. Wasn't too bad for me. [Half cold half hot always lets him keep a comfortable temperature.]
That's right. Matcha is the same thing as green tea.

Yeah, that had went over his head?? But considering all the stuff his group had been sent back with, he had just... assumed that was the same for the others, but apparently not?]
Oh. Yeah, Dave had mentioned something like that, too. He said it was like the North Pole, with how much snow there was. [Well, he said it a little more colorfully than that, but Xiaolang isn't about to parrot that sort of language to other people.] Respatrum was awful, but I'd take fire and heat over cold and snow if I had to choose.
[Which means... definitely never going to Magatus if he can help it. Although his fire talismans would be much more useful over there...
He makes a face at the offending ice cream in the display, trying to puzzle out the ingredients. They didn't use actual toothpaste in it, did they?]

[He's not that surprised.] Extreme temperatures aren't that bad for me, but I'd rather just be somewhere comfortable. The city is good for that.
I think you can use charcoal for alcohol poisoning. I don't remember how though.

Alcohol-- oh. Yeah, that would make sense, wouldn't it? Because it can absorb toxins in your stomach. It's good for food poisoning too... [And he frowns, yet again, the travesty against all chocolate in front of his eyes.] Much like anyone's going to get after eating some of this stuff. You don't go ruining a perfectly good flavor like that.

Snow isn't that bad in moderation.
Yeah, charcoal's pretty useful for that. But if you're feeling nauseous there's a pressure point on the top of your foot that can relieve it.

I don't they should be making other people try their experiments like that... [It's said in a mutter, mostly to himself, as he casts one more judgemental eye at the flavor travesty before him. He looks up, though, the mention about pressure points catching his curiousity.]
Really? I didn't know about that. I know there's one on your hand, about... here [And he indicates the space between his index finger and thumb, right in the meat of it.] that does something similar. One of my sisters showed it to me a while ago.

When we spoke on Retrospec recently, you mentioned something about dragons being where you were. Were there any others, or just the one that you happened to stumble across?

By then we all went into different doors to get stuff for the wolf. There might have been more dragons? But my group only saw one. It looked like it was made of lightning. Definitely wasn't the way I thought of them.

I ask because my group had run into them as well. I didn't see any of them up close myself, but one of the people ran across a baby dragon and forwarded me a photo of it. From what I can tell, it looks like a normal one, [whatever normal could be....] but it's possible it hasn't grown into it's adult traits yet.
[And he shows Shouto his phone, a candid shot of a tiny dragon chasing after a terrified rabbit on the screen.]
I always assumed dragons-- if they actually existed, anyway-- preferred warmer climates.

I guess so. A dragon made of lightning would probably be more comfortable in a colder place. Though the fact that there may be multiple dragons spread out around here is a little concerning...

It was high up in the mountains near the clouds too. That's where lightning usually is, so it makes sense for that kind of dragon to be there too.

Not that we were aware of, no. We had to look into some stories that the locals were telling, to prove whether they were true or false, and one of them involved a dragon hoarding some golden eggs that wasn't theirs. I wasn't with the faction that investigated it, but apparently this is what hatched from it.
I'm sure it must, though. Something had to lay those eggs in the first place.
