FOUNDER'S DAY The city of Recollé. With everything that happened in the last month, the townspeople are excited to proceed with their festivities as normal. The Mayor, though a little wary of public appearances now, makes his way through town atop his beloved Chocobo, Seabiscuit, a megaphone in his hand and shouting to everyone he passes. "Welcome to Founder's Day! Let's do our part and celebrate the city that we love." I. At noon sharp, the bands strikes up again as crowds gather around Tribunal Terrace. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the main attraction! That's right, it's time for the annual Founder's Day Parade featuring the city's newly elected royalty: King Yogi Perowna, Queen Kara Lee, Prince Kasen Kaneda, Princess Elizabeth Velveteen , Duke Garfield Logan, and Duchess Charlotte Williams. The marching bands play with gusto as they stride through the streets, the Recollé High and Recollé University cheerleaders right behind them. Beautiful floats follow in their wake, all decorated with flowers and depicting the historical events of the city. At the head of the parade is the Mayor on Seabiscuit, proudly trotting up front with the head of police, the head of the fire house and the rest of those who had been kidnapped following right after them on another float. Looking no worse for the wear, they're all smiles and grandeur waving and greeting the citizens of the city. At the end of the parade, the Mayor remains in Tribunal Terrace and steps up to the mic. "We would like to give a special thanks to those brave enough to venture into the tunnels to rescue us. Our captors have been dealt with and today we will honor our rescue team for their service." If present at this time, Eleanor Lamb, Yoon-sung Lee, Lucy Takada, Hinata Aoi, Sakura Tohsaka, Frederick Baudin, Tatsuo Kihara, Elizabeth Velveteen, Yukiko Amagi, Tatsuma Hiyuu, Jirou Hirata, Kenta Ooshima, Alexander Von Cumore, Rossiu Adai, and Kurt Wagner will be invited up to the front to receive a medal of honor. It's a shiny golden Chocobo. Like other Founder's Day celebrations in the past, several shops across the city have discount sales on items in the Towers, coffee drinks at Expressive, a marathon of historical films at Flix and more. Celebrate your home if you'd like. It's a nice break from it all. II. But what about those of you who have been city-bound for the whole month? What about those of you who have spent the last month exploring the boundaries outside of the city and helping to build the roads to new destinations? Thanks to the efforts of Retrospec users, several locations have now been stabilized and users may explore these areas to their heart's content. With Pesgare three hours south by boat, Respatrum an hour east and underground, Bosuma two hours west through the Recollé Woods and Magatus seven hours north from the city, visitors may come and go to explore the regions and their points of interest. The travel may take some time and the scenery will change around you as you go. Those same monsters from before continue to lurk just outside of the city and on the path to these locations and wild flora sprawls over various pathways. Take some time to study them if you'd like. And speaking of study, along the way you'll find various road signs and warnings along the way including giant man-eating frogs, fire-breathing horses, severe flood warnings and more. In addition you will find large directories in the middle of the road pointing you in the directions of the four locations. What's going on in these other places though? Well.... III. Over in Pesgare the fishing village has been saved from the hands of a greedy buyer and the villagers are in the midst of celebration. After the big rainstorm that occurred at the end of February, the seaside village begins setting out wares for sale in their marketplace that buyers may peruse. Items for sale include fish, paintings, clothing, books, handmade jewelry and more. On occasion though, you may find yourself in the midst of another rain shower as they come periodically in this area. While some of you may be prepared and have an umbrella on hand, others will notice that the rain is an iridescent color that falls and curves in arcs. Getting soaked by the rain may invoke a strange desire to cause a scene and yell dramatically at whoever is close by (and perhaps even belt it out if you're unfortunately unlucky), and so it may be wise to find shelter soon before you say things you'll come to regret. IV. Meanwhile in Respatrum the workers continue on down in the forge and begin creating new wares with the gems discovered by the exploration group from the month before. It's hot down here, boiling almost and the fires on all side means the heat's not letting up anytime soon. With caves and walkways and forges to explore, you may find yourself observing the creation of silver platters, swords, furniture and more. Further down in the region in one of the lower rings, you may hear the sound of loud cheering and applause as you enter into a large stadium. In the center of the ring is a man with a red cape, waving it in front of a burning, burly bull. A final flourish sends the bull back into its pen, raring and ready to go the next round. Who's up next? Why, it's you! Without warning the organizer of the bull fights grabs you by the shoulders and hands you a cape, shoving you straight into the ring with the crowd roaring above you and the bull bursting out of its cage. Think fast! Your life may depend on it. V. Out in Bosuma, the color's been restored to several of the flowers and trees and the people of the forest have been returned to their cottages. The creatures of the forest appear to be out and around including rabbits, squirrels, giant woodpeckers and rainbow-colored deer that aren't afraid to approach people. In fact, all of the creatures appear content to welcome these newcomers and show them around the forest. It's at night when the real show starts. Several large, blooming flowers begin to glow in various neon colors. For those who stick around and walk through the large gardens, they'll notice that colored pollen also appears to be falling from the flowers, leaving a mist over you that sweeps over you like a soft waterfall. Depending on the color though, you may find yourself feeling a little different...will you fight or will you embrace these sudden emotions? VI. Meanwhile things in Magatus are snowy and blustery as ever, but the townspeople seem to be in higher spirits now that their wolf problem is alleviated. With their shops open for business and the bright colors in the sky, the area is almost peaceful and perfect just to get away from it all. On occasion, you may see a black wolf darting in and out of the shadows watching over the town and the people coming to it. The path appears to be clear now and with a little navigating and a bit of a climb, you'll come across the newly up and running ski lodge. Plenty of cozy couches and fireplaces makes this lodge the perfect place to sleep and the rooms the original exploration team went through appear to be outfitted to be sleeping quarters now. Up on the mountain, however, there will be a fully operating ski lift and several mountain paths for all of you adrenaline junkies wishing to ski, snowboard and more. In fact, several of the locals will even begin teaching lessons and hold competitions for those of you into that kind of thing. Seems pretty safe, right? But the higher you go, the more you begin to feel like you're floating. In fact, the higher the elevation, the higher you will be lifted off the ground until you cap out floating a foot in the air. How are you going to get back down the mountain? Well, good luck with that. BONUS. Several of you may notice that the heart-shaped stone from February still hasn't disappeared. However, as the Founder's Day parade begins all emotional transfer stops. The heart's color seems to settle and all cracks and fissures are permanent. It's no longer in danger of cracking if you ignore your feelings, but it serves as a reminder that you should take care of yourself. Later in the day, all Retrospec users will receive a message from Zee. Assessment passed. We stabilized the four regions and you're no longer in danger of going native if you head out there. Feel free to explore and stuff. There's still a lot out there we don't know about, but it may be best to get a head start. Oh, and the hearts? Also stable for now. It's...if you feel any different or you realize something's missing, come talk to us? We might be able to fix it. The RRI will be taking more volunteers for other assignments as things come up. You'll probably hear from me sooner or later. The hearts will still project the thing that you love to the front of your mind so long as you hold it, but it's in no danger of shattering. [ The Founder's day festival is certainly a much needed break from everything that's happened. Leon's a little tired but now's a good time to check out the discounts. However, what catches his fancy the most is the historical movie marathon that's running at the Flix. Given the context of his memories, he figures that watching some old Chinese drama might give him a better idea of what's going on.

Luckily, an Chinese war film set in Ancient China happened to be on by the time he entered the theater. Wanting to pay close attention and study it, he's quiet as he watches the film but he can't quite hide the grim look on his face as the film plays. ]

b. A wild poodle appears!

[ Should anyone be out and about on Founder's day, there's a good chance you'll suddenly be approached by an excitable white fluffy poodle wearing the classiest of puppy dresses. Especially if you happen to have some food on you or your own dog with you. Upon the happy dog's arrival, she will joyfully bark and wag her tail at anyone that she happened to come in contact with. Does she want a treat or a pet? Maybe it's both.

Not even ten seconds later, the owner of the dog is quick to run over to the scene. ]

Oi, Jasmine! Geez, don't go running off like that. You nearly gave me a fright. [ Once he's able to get a hold of his dog, he'll glance over to whoever she was with for a split second before averting his eyes away. A hint of red colors his cheek and he obviously looks a little embarrassed. ] Sorry about that, I hope she didn't bother you. She gets really excited at this kind of event...

V. The language of flowers and color

[ After learning about Bosuma, Leon has been very interested in checking it out. The beautiful garden immediately catches his attention and he decides to go investigate. While he's looking at the flowers a suddenly yellow misty pollen washes over him and he's silent for a few minutes. Soon enough, a smile curves on his lips but it's not like his usual smirk. No.... he's honest to god beaming with joy. ]

Gosh! This garden is stunning. ☆ It's one of the prettiest things I've ever seen!

[ ... Who is this guy and what has he done to Leon Zhong??? ]

Vi. Time for a ski resort episode

[ This is so much better than Respatrum and he wonders why he couldn't have been sent here instead? Please. He'll take the snow and cold anyday over the pit fires of hell. Given his rich family's background, he's been to plenty of ski resorts in the past. So while this wasn't anything too impressive in his eyes, it felt like heaven compared to the place he was at for a month.

With a snowboard in tow, Leon gets onto the ski life and turn to anyone that happened to join him with a condescending smirk curves on his lips. ]

[ Whenever he's not skiing or snowboarding, he can be found chilling by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate in hand. ]

[ This is the most hilarious thing that she's ever seen and she's so happy to see it that she's just going to take out her phone and record it for herself. She's not sorry about this at all in the slightest bit because she's going to hold this over his head for the longest time.

[ It doesn't even dawn on him as to why she has her phone out because he's just so gosh darn happy!!!! ]

Well, they aren't my favorite thing but I do appreciate them and how beautiful they are.

[ He's still fucking smiling. Good god... He laughs a little as he approaches his girlfriend with the brightest of smiles!! ]

But they aren't as beautiful as you, Mio-chan.

[ What's even worse is the fact that he doesn't get surprised that he's using the '-chan' honorific to actually tease him, so she's having the time of her life. The fact that he's so cheery is a little... hm. She wonders how long it'll take for him to snap out of it and yell at her about the fact that she's recording every second.

She'll give it a few minutes.

But she can't help but flush slightly when he approaches her with that smile of his. ]

Geez... [ She's going to have to put that on repeat later. ] Do you think we can take some?

[ Maybe he should stick around these flowers more often because they are certainly doing wonders for his usual personality. The one thing that didn't change was his reaction upon seeing her flushed cheeks.

It's cute. Way too cute...

He wasn't even effected by the red pollen but his heart was beating like crazy. His own face turns a light shade of red as he stares at her with a fond smile. ]

Hmm, I don't see why not~? If there's any flower that you really want, I'd be happy to take some home with us.

[ A poodle in a fancy puppy dress? There's no other dog it could be, so Kaede immediately knows it's Jasmine when the dog runs up to her. Kaede crouches down to pet her on the head, happy to see her.

She looks up when she hears Leon's voice and smiles at him. ]

You don't need to apologize! I'm always happy to see Jasmine!

[ Leon will probably notice that Kaede looks... a little different. Namely, her hair is now blonde instead of dark brown. ]

[ Of course Jasmine had to run over and greet Kaede!! The floofy dog loves her and had to shower her owner's friend with doggy kisses and lovings upon receiving a pet from her!!!

Like dog like owner, Leon's also happy to see Kaede. Especially since they were apart for a whole month. He felt like something was missing and he was relieved to see her. However, it does take him a moment to realize it's Kaede because... she's suddenly blonde??? ]

Akamatsu? What happened to your hair?

[ Kaede's happy to see Leon too, glad that her friend seems to be safe! She continues to pet Jasmine as she gives him a sheepish smile. ]

I woke up and I was blonde. It's weird, isn't it?

[ This is the best day ever for Jasmine!! In response, the fluffy poodle practically melts at her touch by nuzzling against her. ]

Are you okay? I can imagine it's a strange thing to wake up to.

[ It wasn't the weirdest hair color change he's seen. Two girls he knew had their hair colors changed to green. ]

But it looks nice on you. You look good as a blonde.

[Kenta's arms tighten a little protectively around the dog he's carrying, an absurdly fluffy white Pomeranian, dressed in what appears to be high-end designer dog clothing as well.

He relaxes slightly when he realizes that she seems friendly, but is a bit puzzled that she seems to be unafraid of him. Small animals tend to be wary of him because of his size.

When the owner arrives, he shakes his head.]

... It's fine.

[ Not only did she get to see a new, interesting hooman, Jasmine is ecstatic upon seeing another white ball of fluff like herself. She happily greets the fellow dog by softly barking the Pomeranian.

Leon lets out a sigh and tells her to hush. Upon closer inspection, he can't help but crack a little smile at the dog the other guy was holding. He likes all dogs but white fluffy ones tend to be his favorite. The dog is especially charming in that fashionable outfit. He definitely has excellent taste!! ]

I hope she didn't bother your companion too much. She really likes meeting new dogs.

[ Jasmine's eyes were glistening as she stares at the tall man. She couldn't keep her doggy eyes off of him and the smol dog! ]

[Kenta only hesitates a second longer before he puts the dog down on the ground. Kenti is definitely more chill, but he is sociable and immediately starts sniffing out his new friend.]

Kenti is fond of other dogs. Other animals in general. He was a shelter rescue and I think he loves the contact.

[He holds out a cautious hand towards the poodle, crouching to be more at her level, and making sure not to make any brusque movements. She doesn't seem scared, but you never know what could spook an animal.]

[ At the interaction, Jasmine is beaming with happiness and eagerly sniffs her new smaller doggy friend. They've only just met but she already likes him!!

Leon is smiling at the pair. Even more so when he learns that the other dog was rescued from the shelter, there's a special fondness in his heart for people who rescue dogs. ]

He seems like a good dog, Jasmine is a shelter rescue as well. Shelter animals deserve homes so I'm always glad to hear about others who adopt.

[ Upon the man crouching at her level, the poodle stops sniffing Kenti and instead turns her attention to Kenta. She tilts her head to the side and softly sniffs his hand. Once she was done getting his scent, there's not a single trace of hesitation as she licks his hand and nuzzles her soft face into it. ]

[The dog comes to none other than Byakuya. He has a variety of snacks held with one arm, and he's in the middle of contemplating which ones could be best for a dog when the owner arrives. Leon could be forgiven for not recognizing Byakuya right away... He's wearing a suit that he hasn't worn much in public, and he smirks as he responds to Leon's words.]

Is she excited about the event... or is the root of her excitement actually meeting a being far superior to her so-called master?

[ The suit that Byakuya was wearing certainly caught him off guard and it doesn't dawn on him even after catching up to his dog. However, as soon as he heard that familiar smug voice, he immediately knew who it was. Any hint of embarrasment disappeared and was replaced with a scowl. ]

Oh... it's you.

[ Bet you can't tell how happy he is to see him!!! ]

You wish. Jasmine loves me more than anyone else! Isn't that right my princess?

[ Disregarding the embarrassing nickname for his dog, Jasmine happily barks and trots over to her owner, nuzzling her face against Leon's leg. Once she was done, she turns her attention back to Byakuya.

Or specifically.... his food. Gotta keep her eye on the prize!! ]

I'm sure that you missed me. [He says with a smirk as he looks towards the boy and then the dog.]

So... Jasmine is her name. Interesting. Of course she still bears affection for you... yet it is dwarfed by my shadow.

[With that, he sprinkles holds out some popcorn in one hand for her to eat!]

[oh my god is Leon high or something?????

That's the first explanation that goes through Ishida's head as he watches his eternal rival beam at the flowers. He's honestly too disturbed to do anything but stare from a good distance away.]

...I think you've had enough outdoors for one day.

[hairstroke]

[ Yes... yes he is.

It's even more evident when he lets out the most joyful of laughs at Ishida's suggestion, happily patting him on the shoulder. The smile on his lips would not disappear. It's not even dawning on him that he's creeping his rival out because he's just so gosh darn happy!!! ]

Not at all! Being out here is refreshing. I can't get enough of it!

[Someone save him.

Ishida looks at the hand patting him on the shoulder before slowly turning his gaze to the large smile that's still plastered across Leon's face. ...This is how he's going to die, isn't it?

But despite his inner thoughts, he's not just going to leave his rival in this state.]

Do you have a favorite flower?

[HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY...]

[Jaeger's not exactly the biggest fan of dogs, but there's no denying how absolutely adorable this one is.]

Oh my, aren't you precious?

[He'll crouch down to pet the dog, though he doesn't have any food for her. Aren't you such a good girl—

And right on time, the dog's owner appears. Jaeger stands and dusts himself off (even though his suit is still in perfect condition) and laughs a bit at that.]

Oh no, no, it's perfectly fine! She wasn't a bother at all! You have quite the adorable dog, if I may say so!

[Jaeger's accent is really thick and really German, but he certainly sounds pleased.]

[ What a nice man!! Jasmine finds herself entranced by him and is joyfully barking at him. At the pets, she lets out a happy sigh and snuggles into the touch. She definitely wants a few more pats! Or even more than that because she's spoiled...

The sight of a pleasant, familiar face does cause Leon to relax. He very much remembers speaking to Jaeger and how he was one of the most cordial strangers he's spoken to over the application. ]

Jaeger right? It's good to see you again, especially not through the application.

[ The compliment to his dog causes him to smirk and puff out his chest a little in pride. ]

Why, thank you. I've raised her well and she's a wonderful dog. She's a good dog but I'm relieved she wasn't bothering you. Getting out on Founder's Day is something she really enjoys.

[Jaeger laughs at that, holding up a hand in greeting.]

It's a pleasure to see you in person as well!

And really, who can blame her? Founder's Day is such a charming festival, ja? I've always been quite partial to it!

[He hasn't been in the city for long enough to get sick of it, at any rate.]

[ What are two overachieving students to do when they miss out on a month's worth of classes and material? Frantically catch up. It's questionable that the teachers didn't say much, but who will look this gift horse in the mouth?

As upstanding as Clover wants to be, even she won't because she wants her pristine GPA to stay that way. Books are stacked high in the cradle of her arms, and as she navigates her way through the library, weaving around bookcases and tables, she sees a familiar head of hair.

She wars with herself before she approaches Leon, clearing her throat as quietly as possible. ]

Leon. What classes are you taking this semester and with which professor? I may have notes you can borrow.

[ She needs to try and make up for how horrible she was in Respatrum, for how horrible she thinks she's becoming. ]

[ IT'S TRUE. How the teachers don't say anything to the students that missed out on a month's worth of classes and homework is baffling but he's certainly not going to complain.

Of course, one of the first thing Leon does when he comes back is hit the books and do some serious studying at the library. Like hell was he going to let his good grades go downhill all because he got dragged into some silly application's schemes.

He has his nose buried into his book and is so focused on reading that the sudden sound of someone clearing their throat catches him off guard. Even more so when he hears a very familiar voice and turns to face the last person he thought would approach him. ]

Clover?

[ He's trying his hardest not to show it, but he's rather surprised that she came up to him and started a conversation. Truthfully, he assumed that she would want nothing to do with him after that awkward Respatrum mission.

The dark part of his brain has some suspicions as to why she's suddenly being nice to him but he was rather horrible to her as well and he promised himself that he would try and make up for it. ]

A bunch but I'm currently trying to study for a make up test in economics, accounting and calculus II. What about yourself? I might have some notes that could be useful.

I took Calculus II, but I don't know how much my notes can help you. I do have my old exams still, if you think that would be an aid.

[ In her experience, How people see numbers and how they compute differs on an individual basis more often than not. ]

I'm taking a some of the last requisites for my degree. Paleobiology, Immunology, Endocrinology.

[ Some of those aren't requisites but were close enough to fit in with the theme of her major. ]
