FOUNDER'S DAY The city of Recollé. With everything that happened in the last month, the townspeople are excited to proceed with their festivities as normal. The Mayor, though a little wary of public appearances now, makes his way through town atop his beloved Chocobo, Seabiscuit, a megaphone in his hand and shouting to everyone he passes. "Welcome to Founder's Day! Let's do our part and celebrate the city that we love." I. At noon sharp, the bands strikes up again as crowds gather around Tribunal Terrace. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the main attraction! That's right, it's time for the annual Founder's Day Parade featuring the city's newly elected royalty: King Yogi Perowna, Queen Kara Lee, Prince Kasen Kaneda, Princess Elizabeth Velveteen , Duke Garfield Logan, and Duchess Charlotte Williams. The marching bands play with gusto as they stride through the streets, the Recollé High and Recollé University cheerleaders right behind them. Beautiful floats follow in their wake, all decorated with flowers and depicting the historical events of the city. At the head of the parade is the Mayor on Seabiscuit, proudly trotting up front with the head of police, the head of the fire house and the rest of those who had been kidnapped following right after them on another float. Looking no worse for the wear, they're all smiles and grandeur waving and greeting the citizens of the city. At the end of the parade, the Mayor remains in Tribunal Terrace and steps up to the mic. "We would like to give a special thanks to those brave enough to venture into the tunnels to rescue us. Our captors have been dealt with and today we will honor our rescue team for their service." If present at this time, Eleanor Lamb, Yoon-sung Lee, Lucy Takada, Hinata Aoi, Sakura Tohsaka, Frederick Baudin, Tatsuo Kihara, Elizabeth Velveteen, Yukiko Amagi, Tatsuma Hiyuu, Jirou Hirata, Kenta Ooshima, Alexander Von Cumore, Rossiu Adai, and Kurt Wagner will be invited up to the front to receive a medal of honor. It's a shiny golden Chocobo. Like other Founder's Day celebrations in the past, several shops across the city have discount sales on items in the Towers, coffee drinks at Expressive, a marathon of historical films at Flix and more. Celebrate your home if you'd like. It's a nice break from it all. II. But what about those of you who have been city-bound for the whole month? What about those of you who have spent the last month exploring the boundaries outside of the city and helping to build the roads to new destinations? Thanks to the efforts of Retrospec users, several locations have now been stabilized and users may explore these areas to their heart's content. With Pesgare three hours south by boat, Respatrum an hour east and underground, Bosuma two hours west through the Recollé Woods and Magatus seven hours north from the city, visitors may come and go to explore the regions and their points of interest. The travel may take some time and the scenery will change around you as you go. Those same monsters from before continue to lurk just outside of the city and on the path to these locations and wild flora sprawls over various pathways. Take some time to study them if you'd like. And speaking of study, along the way you'll find various road signs and warnings along the way including giant man-eating frogs, fire-breathing horses, severe flood warnings and more. In addition you will find large directories in the middle of the road pointing you in the directions of the four locations. What's going on in these other places though? Well.... III. Over in Pesgare the fishing village has been saved from the hands of a greedy buyer and the villagers are in the midst of celebration. After the big rainstorm that occurred at the end of February, the seaside village begins setting out wares for sale in their marketplace that buyers may peruse. Items for sale include fish, paintings, clothing, books, handmade jewelry and more. On occasion though, you may find yourself in the midst of another rain shower as they come periodically in this area. While some of you may be prepared and have an umbrella on hand, others will notice that the rain is an iridescent color that falls and curves in arcs. Getting soaked by the rain may invoke a strange desire to cause a scene and yell dramatically at whoever is close by (and perhaps even belt it out if you're unfortunately unlucky), and so it may be wise to find shelter soon before you say things you'll come to regret. IV. Meanwhile in Respatrum the workers continue on down in the forge and begin creating new wares with the gems discovered by the exploration group from the month before. It's hot down here, boiling almost and the fires on all side means the heat's not letting up anytime soon. With caves and walkways and forges to explore, you may find yourself observing the creation of silver platters, swords, furniture and more. Further down in the region in one of the lower rings, you may hear the sound of loud cheering and applause as you enter into a large stadium. In the center of the ring is a man with a red cape, waving it in front of a burning, burly bull. A final flourish sends the bull back into its pen, raring and ready to go the next round. Who's up next? Why, it's you! Without warning the organizer of the bull fights grabs you by the shoulders and hands you a cape, shoving you straight into the ring with the crowd roaring above you and the bull bursting out of its cage. Think fast! Your life may depend on it. V. Out in Bosuma, the color's been restored to several of the flowers and trees and the people of the forest have been returned to their cottages. The creatures of the forest appear to be out and around including rabbits, squirrels, giant woodpeckers and rainbow-colored deer that aren't afraid to approach people. In fact, all of the creatures appear content to welcome these newcomers and show them around the forest. It's at night when the real show starts. Several large, blooming flowers begin to glow in various neon colors. For those who stick around and walk through the large gardens, they'll notice that colored pollen also appears to be falling from the flowers, leaving a mist over you that sweeps over you like a soft waterfall. Depending on the color though, you may find yourself feeling a little different...will you fight or will you embrace these sudden emotions? VI. Meanwhile things in Magatus are snowy and blustery as ever, but the townspeople seem to be in higher spirits now that their wolf problem is alleviated. With their shops open for business and the bright colors in the sky, the area is almost peaceful and perfect just to get away from it all. On occasion, you may see a black wolf darting in and out of the shadows watching over the town and the people coming to it. The path appears to be clear now and with a little navigating and a bit of a climb, you'll come across the newly up and running ski lodge. Plenty of cozy couches and fireplaces makes this lodge the perfect place to sleep and the rooms the original exploration team went through appear to be outfitted to be sleeping quarters now. Up on the mountain, however, there will be a fully operating ski lift and several mountain paths for all of you adrenaline junkies wishing to ski, snowboard and more. In fact, several of the locals will even begin teaching lessons and hold competitions for those of you into that kind of thing. Seems pretty safe, right? But the higher you go, the more you begin to feel like you're floating. In fact, the higher the elevation, the higher you will be lifted off the ground until you cap out floating a foot in the air. How are you going to get back down the mountain? Well, good luck with that. BONUS. Several of you may notice that the heart-shaped stone from February still hasn't disappeared. However, as the Founder's Day parade begins all emotional transfer stops. The heart's color seems to settle and all cracks and fissures are permanent. It's no longer in danger of cracking if you ignore your feelings, but it serves as a reminder that you should take care of yourself. Later in the day, all Retrospec users will receive a message from Zee. Assessment passed. We stabilized the four regions and you're no longer in danger of going native if you head out there. Feel free to explore and stuff. There's still a lot out there we don't know about, but it may be best to get a head start. Oh, and the hearts? Also stable for now. It's...if you feel any different or you realize something's missing, come talk to us? We might be able to fix it. The RRI will be taking more volunteers for other assignments as things come up. You'll probably hear from me sooner or later. The hearts will still project the thing that you love to the front of your mind so long as you hold it, but it's in no danger of shattering. [The Founder's Day parade has always been a nice event. Robin can get some coffee, walk around, and catch some of the sales. After she gets her coffee she's deciding on what she should do next. She could go to the historical movie marathon, but she's not the biggest fan of historical movies. They always leave something important out for the sake of the story. Well, first she's going to visit one of the shops then go to the movies.

A) If you run into her in one of the shops she'll ask your opinion about something she wants to buy for her apartment. She may be eyeing something cute, yet she doesn't want to go over to pick it up. Maybe suggest it?

B) If you run into at the movies, you'll find her in a rare time where she's indecisive. She wants to see how bad the movie gets historical facts, yet she doesn't want to face this alone. Maybe join her?]

[When Robin heard about the fishing village in Pesgare she decided to pay the place a visit. It's a cute little town with interesting books for her to read, food to try, and clothes too. Luckily Robin was able to get inside before the rainstorm started so she can look out at the water. She has a book in her lap and tea on the table next to her it's a nice time. However, she does have some questions about this town, if anyone would like to fill her in. Or you could come and chat with her. She wants to learn more about this fishing town and why someone was so eager to buy it.]

[Robin visits Respatrum next, taking in the caves and walkways. She does notice how hot it is that she's glad she didn't take many things with her down here. She can't believe something like this wasn't that far away from the city. She goes over to check out the creations of silver plates and swords. If anyone is close to her they will hear her say:]

There's no documentary that can compare to watching this in person.

[She's going to walk around to watch more of the forges. Maybe she can get something for her apartment too.]

[When Robin goes to Bosuma, she notices that it looks like something out of a fairy tale. The trees, the flowers, the cottage, and the friendly forest animals that are showing her around the forest. She's not dressed like a princess, though she does feel like one with everything that's going on. She does notice that it looks like someone added some color recently to the areas. She can't remember a forest looking like this. During the day, she's distracted by the kind forest animals. At night, she goes to check out the giant flowers, where she takes note of the large gardens. When the pollen washes over her she looks down at the blue on her arms.

Well, that's something, she frowns a little as she stares at the color.]

Did the pollen shower hit you too?

[She knows she can't be the only one.]

[VI.]

[The last place she goes to is Magatus. She's not one for the cold, but she wanted to check this place out. She visits the shops during the day, buying little things that she can keep away from Mimi, though she can admire. One day when she returns to the inn she does notice a black wolf. Robin doesn't think much about it, it has to be one of the animals in the area after all. When she returns to the inn she takes out her bag from the shop to look at the things she's bought.]

Now I should look to see what kind of books are around.

[and Anna, once she's inside, looks around with only barely contained wonder. she hopes this initial feeling never goes away, the one that keeps smacking her in the face with surprise whenever she sees something absolutely brand new to her, something she never thought would actually exist. and yet here she is. here this is.]

[she's getting better at recovering from it, but she still loves the feeling all the same. after a quick moment, she's ready to start talking again. and the fact that she can ask such mundane questions of this is kind of hilarious.]

Cozy. A real home away from home. Looks like you're never gonna be lost, long as you have this thing nearby. Do you just take it anywhere and park it wherever?

[That sense of awe and interest is half of why she brought Anna up here. It would've been simpler to leave her, but after she got hurt, Pen figured it would be kinder to give her a positive end to the day. No sense in leaving someone to smolder down there, or walk back in the dark.

Seating herself in the command console, the girl taps a few buttons and the hatch seals up behind the two of them.]

I do. Though, I don't take it everywhere. The normal folks not on the app can't see it, just like they don't see any of the weird shit going on, but this thing is big enough that I don't want to risk damaging buildings. Or it.

[Starting the power cycle, she makes ready to get underway.]

Freya'd also fuss at me, since I have a perfectly good car and this thing is ridiculously opulent. And a little difficult to haul groceries in, what with the ladder.

Excellent, I think I saw a funnel cake stand nearby. Do you like funnel cake? If not, there are fried twinkies, fried cheese cake, fried snickers, probably anything fried really if you searched hard enough.

[Wow, Derek, you really have a sweet tooth don't you?]

[Derek stares at the jug and then takes it.]

[Derek tips the jug back and takes a few gulps. He the lowers it and hands it back to Jirou.]

[Anna's so taken by how everything works so smoothly that she almost doesn't catch that last part. it makes sense that this isn't Penelope's main form of transportation, and that she wouldn't want to wreck anything with it. but the power cycle starting up does get her attention, and yeah, she almost misses that name.]

Opulent doesn't even describe it. But, uh, you know Freya?

[you know, it occurs to her that she never did ask what Freya's partner's name is.]

It would certainly have been exciting to see! I mean, you know, if you could do it safely.

Tatsuo takes a sip of his drink then continues.

"One of them, 1st division pawned off on 2nd division because at first, they thought it was a suicide. A Mr Nishida, jumped from the roof of a parking garage. The next night, his wife and young daughter are pulled from the harbor after their vehicle goes off a pier. The daughter survives."

Still not murder.

"Only, they didn't have water inside their lungs, because they were already unconscious when the vehicle entered the water."

I guess it was the main person that lived there [ the saniwa ] that gave us the missions, but the talking fox kind of... reinforced those missions? It would scan us after we returned, too — and if we didn't hold still, it would smack us.

Figured out? No way. I can get her to show up but she pretty much does her own thing? I mean, we were fightin' a monster and she fought the monster too, so I guess in a way she was doin' what I want but..

[Lillian shook her head.]

I've seen other people's personas and they got way better control than I do. Or maybe control's not the right word. It's like...

[Lillian still didn't really understand personas, exactly. After a few seconds of thoughtful silence she just shrugged, looking a little bit embarrassed.]

[It was a good few hours into the trip when Freya would suddenly find someone sitting in the seat next to her. It was Luna! What a shock! She was dressed in a jeans skirt, black leggings and a big pink hoodie, her backpack by her feet, and she gave the tall woman a big, faintly sly smile.]

[She had noticed Freya earlier, but there'd been bus-napping to do first!]
