WHAT: Robin relearning the city, along with meeting with her student to ~~mom~~ catch up with him

A. Open

[Since she joined the app Recolle looks the same, yet different. There are so many things that have happened that she wasn't aware of. It makes her wonder how many of her coworkers, friends, even fellow students were in danger or caught up in whatever the city had planned. She never thought Recolle would have so many secrets. Well, time to take a walk to see how much the city has changed. It's also her chance to enjoy the dome disappearance. Robin has missed being able to look at the sky without seeing the dome around her.

There are few places that have changed since the last time she walked around. While she doesn't normally get lost, she does get turned around when she goes to Tisse. She stops to look at the information map, turning to the person next to her as she points at the map.]

Excuse me, what happened to a couple of the businesses here?

[Time to see what happened.]

[B. Closed to Kon]

[Now that she's on the app, it's easier for her to keep in contact with some of her students. There's one that she didn't know would be on the app, one of her top students that she has grown to look after as well. Knowing that the people away get a chance to come back, she's told Kon to come by her place. She can catch up, he can play with Mimi, and everyone wins. Okay, she may have been ~~very~~ a little worried when he didn't contact her after two weeks. Robin understands that Kon is very busy, but he doesn't wait that long. Now she can see him and learn a little bit more about the app too.

Robin is in the middle of prepping food when she hears a knock on the door.]

[She covers everything before she walks over to the door. She opens it with a warm smile.]

Which businesses do you mean?

[ Hello, tall older woman? She does stop here, resting her left (prosthetic) arm at her side but very much gesturing with her right (biological) one at ... this particular business in front of them. Some sort of small shop? But then, there have been a bakery here back in the time before December...? Did she mean that? ]

[Hello, smaller younger woman. Robin notices her arm, though it doesn't surprise her too much, it isn't the first time she's seen someone with a prosthetic. She nods when she mentions the bakery.]

Yes, I remember there was a bakery here before, but it's gone now. Oh, let me clarify I just joined retrospec and this map looks different than before. Do you know what happened to it?

Oh the maps aren't changed...? [ Or they ate changed? Google maps got updated, she thinks? She hasn't had to check actually, he sense of direction has generally been pretty good. As such, she nods and... ] Actually, it happened before I was on the app as well, I think? I do remember things changing in November, but then I thought it was normal later.

[ She tilts her head the other way. Now she says it out loud, it sounds dumb. ]

I believe there was something about it, but I didn't pay attention to it at the time.

[She wasn't on the app, so she went along with it. Now that she thinks about it, it was probably stranger than she thought.]

I thought it was normal too. Hmm, the maps look like it's updated, though I can't be too sure. Thank you for the help, I decided to go take a walk since the dome is down now. I wanted to see what has changed too. How long have you been on the app?

December! But I did have a brief period in November that I think I was on for a few days...?

[ Which is weird, but that's why she recalls this at all - being self aware for a bit in the middle there. ] Now I think of it... a place I ate at sometimes vanished too.

[ Oh well! She smiles and rocks on her heels, her red eyes locking into the woman's own - and don't wory, there isn't a burst of petals or anything! Just a look. ]

Honestly, it's so nice to see the sun again.

I joined the network a few days ago. There are many new changes that I wanted to see what happened to the city. It has? What was the place called?

[Oh, thank goodness, nothing against the young woman it's just she's had enough flowers to last her for awhile.]

Soyokaze. It was a country style sushi place... honestly, I think I was a bit of a problem costumer, because I'd go there for all the side dishes and the deserts more than for sushi itself.

[ She comes a little sheepishly. But she nods. Yes, she is enjoying the sun. ]

Hmm, I remember going to a similar place for sushi, you know that's probably the place. Some places do have good side dishes and desserts. I would have tried the sushi there again. Well, it's time to find a new one.

[Robin gives a warm smile in return.]

I appreciate the help. Would you like to continue to enjoy this day with me? I'm on my way to the pet shop to get my cat another toy. I would say no to having company.

[ That... that makes her (red) eyes light up and she nods vigorously at that. ]

I've got a spare hour or so at least, and I loooove going to the pet store. Aaah, Porsche probably could use a new gift too now that we can go outside a little more.

[ She'll get right into step with the woman, even. Sushi though... it's true, they did. She loved the Mt Vegetable Udon they had there... and the miso soup... and the edamame...

... Man she would love that now. ]

But a bunch of the bookstores changed... now there's just that huge Novel Idea place.

[Robin smiles at her enthusiastic nod along with the way she falls in step with her. It feels good to be able to share this beautiful day with someone.]

How big is Porsche? Now is a wonderful time to go out, now that we can enjoy the sun again.

[Robin wouldn't mind having some of that sushi. Well, she's sure that something will pop up in the future.]

I've been there many times and I enjoy it. I do miss the smaller bookstores the bigger one does have more selections. Do you like it? What are some of your favorite places?

I'd be a bad employee if I didn't say the Stone Pegasus Casino. But I do love my job, so I'll list that... [ She says this as she reaches into her purse with her right (biological) hand to get out her phone and begins to rapidly flip into her pictures to try to find a picture of Porsche. But she continues as she does this, glancing between the screen and Robin ]

I love the animal shelter, pet shops... There's a darling little diner called Neehee's I go to! Oh, and the seaweed noodles at Narook's Noodlery are great. [ Hmmm. ] I just sound hungry now, don't I? I do like the forest too, I grew up around orchards. [ Tut tu...t oh, here we are.

Porsche. A little pug-terrier mix. Quite small! But still. ]

As for the bookstore, I can't say I spend too much time in there. It's nice to get things in one spot though, especially because Amazon's been erratic lately.

[ It's a quick trip, and he knows it, but Kon makes it. There's some things he needs to pick up, some people he needs to check in with, but there's one, above all else, that he needs to see. And Robin makes sure he knows that he'd better come to see her, although she didn't threaten him with it or anything.

Not like he'd say no, anyways.

Backpack from the trip restocked, and computer and phone fully charged after he checked in on everything back at his dorm, he waits patiently after knocking for Robin to open the door. When she does, he lets his shoulders sag with some kind of - relief, in a way. He's happy to see her, and even happier to know that another person that he cares about has Retrospec so he can actually talk to them about it. (Disregarding that Mary lost it, that Keito lost it - ) ]

Hey. Thanks, teach. It's, uh... muddy, and camping is so not my thing. But it's good.

[Kon is one of the few people who has seen her genuine smile. She's relieved to see that he's okay and nothing too bad as happened to him. She doesn't know how this app works so she's going to be worried when something happens. Then again even when she does figure it out, cause she's going to, she's still going to ask about him. Well, she'll work things out when it comes to it, for now she'll enjoy this visit.]

That's good. I know camping isn't ideal, it sounds like the easiest solution.

So, what's been keeping you out of the city all the time.

[ While he loves his guardian, appreciates her taking him into her home and giving him a chance to be more than just a too-smart punk in the system, Kon tends to... see Robin more as a motherly figure than he does Ishida-sensei. It'd probably be more appropriate to regard her as that cool older sister you always wanted, if you were into history and language and "nerdy" things like that, but. She opens the door, smiles at him, and he smells the food she's cooking and it's a lot like what he'd think a mom's house should smell like.

He is literally never admitting this to a living soul. ]

There's a lot of traveling. It took about four, five days to get from one location to the other - we're in a forest, like I showed you, but there's a swamp nearby that me and a couple of other people went into.

[ And another set of people will go into, again, when he gets back. Not that he knows that yet. ]

What're you making? [ Mimi Mimi Mimi. Kon shrugs off his backpack as he comes in with her invitation, setting it down and going to swoop the cat up with a coo at seeing her cute face. ]

The dryads I told you about are dealing with a - I guess magical poison in the leylines that their forest is connected to. We're helping them figure out what the cause is and relocating them to a new home since the damage has been done to the flora and fauna.

[Robin does have similar feelings when it comes to Kon. She's never been one to let people in easily or to openly show her hobbies, yet here's Kon who's into the same things, who picks up things easily, and can be very sweet when they're together. Of course, she does give him his space, but with the way she cares for him he feels more like a son than a regular student. It's the reason that her mom mode kicks in harder than ever when Kon is around, not that she minds much. However, it's not something she's going to tell everyone about.]

I remember the picture, it's the first time I've seen that forest. I've heard about it, I just never visited it.

[Robin fondly watches Kon with Mimi before taking his backpack to put it up. Ah, she's missed this.]

Chicken and dumplings. I don't know how the week will look so I wanted something I could keep for awhile. How long are you going to be in the city? I could make some thing for you to take back.

[Robin is gonna take a quick picture of Kon and Mimi. It's been too long since the last one.]

I wasn't aware of the magic in the air or the intensive damage it's done to the forest. It's good to know that the dryads aren't hostile. They're not hostile right?

[She's ~~concerned~~ interested in these creatures.]

It's interesting, but it seems a little like - I guess that the distances are skewed? I wish I could have made a full map of it, but we had another group doing that. Maybe I'll get some copies? [ It's absentminded, as he scratches Mimi under the chin, pressing their cheeks close together and enjoying the fact that he has a bundle of vibrating, warm fur so close to him. It's a lot better than, you know, nearly getting eaten by monsters and dealing with swamp mud and gunky water.

His shoulder still hurts sometimes. But he doesn't say anything about it to Robin, knowing that she'll worry, that she'll ask why he never told her, and just...

It was easier when she didn't know anything, but it was also harder. She's the one person that he thinks he could probably tell pretty much everything, including the memories that he's been getting ever since Retrospec showed up on his phone. ]

We're only here from noon to noon, so you get me for like. Twenty hours. I had to go check on my compsci homework, I was doing an autorun on data so that I wouldn't have to worry about it while I was gone. But, oh - [ That's a picture. Kon just sticks his tongue out very slightly. ]

Dryads aren't hostile, no, but there's plenty of hostile things there to deal with. But apparently that's normal for the other me, so it's been all right.
