1. OPEN - library

[It almost feels wrong to study for exams at this time. Even so, Nanashi thinks that he has to try. There's stacks of books in front of him on various subjects ranging from math to old history. They're all fairly thick texts he's got to memorize within the next week.  It looks like he's got no problem dealing with the material until he hits world religion. Nanashi lets out a dissatisfied groan and mumbles.]

This is such a pain....I still have to read five more volumes.  Know anything about Christianity? Or have tips on taking notes? I'm not going to make it unless I find a better way to study.

[He turns to the person who's closest to him. His voice sounds like a small plea for help.]

CLOSED TO LEAKS - Tea Kittle 2/16

[As promised, Nanashi shows up with a bag of goods and other items. He's got a gift for Leon and it's neatly wrapped. With great care he places it onto the counter. Leon may be busy at the moment. If so then he can just grab it later.]

Hey, old man Leon? I'm here. Please take this gift. It's meant for you.

[ After allowing himself to settle in Nanashi lets out a big yawn. It looks like he could eat something to regain energy. Food is a quick and easy solution to tiredness. He'll just ask Leon for the best thing to eat once he's ready. ]

CLOSED TO ZERO - Cafe 2/14

[Maybe hanging out in the back alley wasn't the best idea. Nanashi's got several minor injuries from punching thugs in the face. Thankfully, it's nothing too major or else he'd make other people worry. Rose had it worse than he did since she got a black eye. He doesn't really want to rely on her every time a fight breaks out. It's not fair to her.

Instead of looking for Rose in the alley he tries to find her at the cafe. With a bit of luck, he manages to find her there. ]

What's up, Rose?

[She's so reckless at times. Nanashi's glad she's still in one piece.]

Christianity... is big. And it was persecuted until it wasn't. That's what I've got.

[He's desperate enough to ask a kid for help. This is legit.]

"Big" is one way of putting it. My head's going to explode from all the events that go on. I'm going to die, I can feel it.

[Nanashi shoots Shinji a look.]

Are you here to study too?

They can't ask you to mention everything that's happened, it's been here for two thousand years.

[Thanks, Shinji, Nanashi probably knows the calendar date.]

School keeps happening for some stupid reason, so I've gotta study.

Right?? All I can do is memorize the more major events. After that...I don't know. It's so stupid, but we gotta try.

[Nanashi's eye brow twitches in irritation. School is such a hassle. They're both agreeing on this one thing. It's a nice feeling.]

Do you need help at all?

I've got it. Wouldn't working on elementary school stuff be a total waste of your time?

[ of course, he recognizes it's Nanashi, but he's clearly struggling with something. with a grunt and a frustrated groan, he sighs exasperatedly before peering out from a doorway, blinking a few times. ]

Could you mind helping me with this? It's a little heavier than I remember.

[reaquila]

No problem. I'll be there in a sec!

[He runs towards Leon's side and offers a hand. It shouldn't be too hard to carry with the load split.]

Okay, this really is heavier than it looks. What's inside?

[Nanashi offered to pick it up but he's clueless as ever. He gives Leon a curious look. ]

[ with his sleeves pulled up, it's clear his right wrist isn't looking so hot. swollen and slightly bruised, he's clearly on the struggle bus. ]

You gotta stop the morbid jokes. That's nasty. [He sighs. Leon almost had Nanashi going for a bit. ]

[Nanashi looks down at Leon in concern. Did something happen? ]

I did something foolish.

[ with help, the box is easily carried to the counter, where he can open it and start pulling out the various plasticware and setting them down in neat piles. ]

I attempted to assist a police officer in dispatching a monster wearing a mask.

[ and he laughs to himself, albeit sadly. ]

On my day off, of course.

[Robin looked up from her book at the question. She meant to find some books for her class that she could recommend as supplement reading when a book about ancient civilizations caught her eye. She got caught up into the books, until she heard the question. She closed her book with a smile.]

Sure, what would you like to know? Are you looking for a specific event like the Crusades? Are you studying on how Christianity was used as a tool of colonization? Or are you looking up people who were major names in the faith or how the faith came to be? I have some tips on taking notes too, if you're interested in doing that first.

[Teacher mode: activated.]

[Thank you, Robin. That's just the kind of help Nanashi needs. He keeps losing focus because his note taking skills are poor. It's making his life miserable. The answer should be obvious in this case. ]

Tips on taking notes first please. I've got to memorize the names of important people and knowing about Crusades would help. Let's do one thing at a time?

[Christianity's such a broad topic. It'll take forever to completely nail down. Now that Robin's here Nanashi feels slightly less dead.]

Okay, we'll do notes first, before I show you some techniques do you have an example of how you take notes? If you give me some paper I can show you some ways to make things easier.

[Robin smiles as she takes a pen out of her purse.]

Nanashi Kurosawa! Nice to meet you Ms.Nikolaev. [He bows down respectfully to show some manners.]

I'm still in my first years of high-school. You can take a look at my notes, sure.

[After going through introductions Nanashi passes her a file. His notes are overly detailed. It takes him forever to get through content this way, but he doesn't realize it. Robin might be able to see the problem easily.]

[What a polite young man, she already can see this impromptu session will be a good one.]

Oh, so you're just starting, believe me it's gets easier as you go along.

[Robin can see the problem after looking at his notes. She reaches in her purse for a highlighter as she starts going across a few passages. When she finishes, she ease the paper over and points to the highlighted section.]

I see the problem, you're trying to copy the whole textbook in your notes. One easiest way to take notes is to pick out important sections about the topic. You can usually find the information you need in the beginning of the paragraph. I would recommend about no more than three sentences from the middle, unless something stands out to you that you want to remember then checking the end to see if the paragraph ended with an important note. It makes things easier, especially for long passages full of information.

[She highlights a little more of the next part of his notes then points to the section again.]

I'd like for you to write the highlight sections then tell me if it makes it easier to read.

[Religion - that's a hard one. Anya pauses in her own reading, as she was most certainly going over books about stars for the fiftieth time, and tilts her head.]

[she's reading for fun.... she can be interrupted.]

[He peers over to Anastasia and nods.]

Of course, Anya. I'd like that. It's kind of you to offer.

[Those books about stars catch his interest for a second. It looks a lot better than studying religion!!!]

This could take a while. Hope you don't mind too much.

[yeah there's a reason why she's not studying religion - but she just gives him a smile and shakes her head as she saves her page with a bookmark and pushes it aside]

Not even a little bit.

Maybe we will both learn - sometimes stars are important in religion stories?

They are important to religion. A star guided a bunch of random men to Jerusalem.

[He nods enthusiastically. It's much better to study with a friend than do it on your own. Nanashi looks a lot brighter thanks to Anya. Maybe now he'll be productive. Nanashi stares down at his homework again, looking a bit lost.]

Why'd they do that anyways? Couldn't they wait till morning for light? I don't get it, Anya.

[Starlight seems like a pretty unreliable light source. Just saying!!]

[constellates]

[WELL HE'S NOT WRONG - but Anya giggles regardless.]

[You'd think Valentine's Day would mean Rose would at least be out on a date, much like the several couples here enjoying a day out together, but no. She's just here with a big slice of chocolate cake all to herself. In fact, she's in the middle of a bite when Nanashi finds her.]

Oh, hey. What brings you here?

I'm just chilling. I find it easier to relax here than at home.

[He says it so frankly. Rose has always been pretty blunt with him. There shouldn't be an issue if he's the same way.]

That cake looks good. Glad you could have some without wanting to punch someone this time.

[Nanashi hasn't forgotten about how they lost taste for a bit.]

You're telling me. I think I'm still making up for all the food I missed out on.

[Her cake is so important to her, she'll never forgive the loss of taste incident....]

[The cafe's so noisy. There's some singing on the radio and people chatting around them. Nanashi sits next to Rose's seat and chills.]

Right? All I want to do is eat sweets sometimes. Taste is the best part of food!! Maybe I'll order something too. What's good on the menu today?

[Seeing as how Rose already bought something she might know better.]
