this is the reaper's power
WHO: Isaac and you
WHERE: at his pawn shop, at club sunshine, one prompt at his car, and also the bars, naturally.
WHEN: 1/6 to the end of the month
WHAT: Isaac is starting to get his reaper's curse back and things are not going well.
WARNINGS: Alcohol as per usual. Also Isaac being Isaac.
a. 1/6-1/14 Pawn Shop
[It was all little dumb shit that was happening. A vase fell and broke near a customer almost injuring them. Another customer was looking at a piece of wall art and it came off the hook it was on and landed right on them. Thankfully there were no injuries and even the customer said it was a freak accident and nothing on Isaac.
Now kids are coming in saying his place is more haunted than usual, which means he has more of his Instagram and twitter kids coming in, snapping their selfies, and leaving. What makes it worse is that some of them caught video of the random shit going on in his store and he can’t even fight it anymore. That vase did move on it’s own when the person walked by it, shattering almost at their feet (why is it the vases? Those are so expensive…).
In any case, he’s not sure what to do. At some points he’s moving things around and making sure it’s not mice or anything like that, but sure enough everything is in proper condition.
Just what in God’s name is going on? Anyone coming to visit him in this time frame will note he’s very exasperated, and perhaps some small speck of bad luck will meet them too.]
b. 1/6-1/14 Club Sunshine
[It seems this luck was following him everywhere. It’s more noticeable when he’s working his shifts at Club Sunshine. Customers tripping over beer bottles that randomly fell in front of him. Corks just popping off of champagne bottles that Isaac barely even touches. Drinks slipping out of his firm grip and the glasses shattering on the floor—just happenstance that happens to all happen to him. Or is it a coincidence?
He tries to keep his usual cool and calm personality here, but it’s harder to do when whatever the fuck’s going on is not helping with his customer service skills.
Whatever it is, this is following him and it’s annoying.]
c. 1/14 at his car outside of the pawn shop
[No one would believe him if he told the story. He went to his car, his keys and phone fell out of his pocket with his phone hitting the lock button as he just tapped the driver’s side door and it closed, locking his keys and phone in his car…
…at first he’s not even mad because he’s trying to figure out how it happened. Except that’s just a short moment before:]
FUCK! What the fuck is going on?!
[Yeah, he’s hit his limit and he’s upset at this point… someone please call a locksmith so he can be on his way.]
d. All month – barhopping
[Got a bardate with Isaac? Come here and he will teach you good alcohol.
Or just join him, especially in the latter half of the month when everything ever seems to be happening to him and he needs to drink to forget what’s going on with him. Honestly? He needs a friend or two right now so he can explain all this shit going on with him.]

What happened?
no subject
Phone and keys are locked inside my car. That's what happened.
no subject
[He'll approach and peer in the window and... yep. This legit just happened. How is your luck so bad, Isaac...]
no subject
[Except he has no choice but to believe it due to the fact that well, his keys and phone are locked in his car. Just what on earth?]
no subject
no subject
[He'll hold his hand out for said phone.]
no subject
My, that really is incredibly unlucky...
d
So, how shall we begin?
no subject
But this will make for a pretty fun night, he thinks. Teaching people the ropes about good drinks and how to enjoy themselves.]
Well, what kinds of flavors do you prefer? Also what alcohols do you like?
[Hey, he'll ease him into it as much as he wants to just pour him a glass of whiskey on the rocks in hopes that he'd enjoy it.]
no subject
Hmm, I suppose I prefer subtle flavors, nothing that is so much in your face. As for alcohols? I'm afraid my experience is mostly limited to beers and wines. And I prefer beer over wine.
no subject
[Something that's thicker, but not so in your face, Isaac thinks. Nothing wrong with that if someone would want something light.]
It's got a subtle taste, but I think it would help get you toward that acquired taste of the stronger tasting things.
no subject
Very well then, I'd start with that. [ He stands up to get it but looks at Isaac ] And what would you like? First round on me.
b
They're both sitting at a booth, their table having been wiped dry after Kiryu's glass spilled over and Isaac's loose grip caused them to be down one bottle of (thankfully) white wine. Somewhere, on the other side of the club, another host missteps, only to be followed by the sound of glass shattering. ]
That's the third glass today. Wonder what's up?
no subject
I don't know what's going on, but it might be me.
[Except when that comes out of his mouth, even he knows that sounds ridiculous.]
no subject
[ It does sound ridiculous, but Kiryu's been to Club Sunshine enough times to know that this isn't normal by a long shot. Unless the new Retrospec thing is bad luck? ]
no subject
[All sorts of things falling and breaking...]
no subject
Are you cursed or something? It could be someone is just messing with you on purpose.
a.
Except it's almost all literally garbage. Oops. Then again, that's standard fair for Rose.
What's not standard fair is for her to open the door only for a vase on a shelf nowhere near her to come immediately crashing down. There's no one near it, and she's still at the door, but she still turns immediately to Isaac to say:]
That wasn't my fault, got that?
no subject
So when she comes in, he sighs and shakes his head like he knows what to except as he gives her a wry smile... at least until he hears that vase crash and fall. His fingers go to pinch the bridge of his nose.]
...not again.
[Yeah, it's seeming like he's getting a little used to these mishaps and he doesn't like it at all.]
no subject
no subject
[He felt pretty awful about that one considering he would never want to see a child harmed, ever. And he knows no one touched that vase, either.]
no subject
[Which seems weirdly specific honestly.]
