WHO: Dave Strider & Jade Harley, Dirk Strider, Roxy Strider, Anya, Chuuya, Yuri Plisetsky, Chloe, Malik Ishtar, Natsumi Kuzuryu, Eleanor Lamb, and any other positive CR of either Dave or Jade whom they might have invited along (i.e. maybe you).
WHERE: laser tag place waves hands vaguely
WHEN: Sunday 3/12, in the afternoon moreso!
WHAT: Laser tag & pizza. Technically an anniversary but mostly just Laser Tag And Pizza.
WARNINGS: probably needlessly dramatic death scenes and vicious backstabbing
At some point over the past week, everyone involved in this nonsense was given a verbal invite by Dave or Jade to show up for laser tag on Sunday. They didn't explicitly say Why they felt the need to laser tag, so whether or not people are aware it's a 1-month anniversary choice (why) is up in the air based on how well they can count and whether or not they know when the pair started dating, but WHO NEEDS TO KNOW THAT! There is pizza on the tables outside the course and inside there is LASER TAG. Black lights and neon lit up shit and obstacles and everything.
There will be six matches with different team-ups every time; YOU CAN VIEW THOSE HERE. If you're a tagalong with one of the "who" people or think your character would have netted an invite (i.e. are friends with Dave or Jade), you can just add yourself to a team for each match - just try to keep the teams evenish. This is just so people have a thing to go off of for prompts. If your character is sitting out a match you can just note that, too.
So, what are you going to do? Consume pizza, attempt daring laser tag stunts, chill with people outside the game? Maybe give a dramatic death speech or two? Basically do whatever because that's what the organizers of the event plan to do.

While I know I'd probably be the best judge here on whether or not something is extra cheesy, my lactose intolerance isn't looking into being a pizza judge sorry.
[She's not sure if that was directed at her or not, but hey she wants to chat it up with this awesome lady so. A great conversation starter to just...wedge herself into. Sorry to whoever the actual recipient may have been.]
Though I heard there's a secret menu at these sorts of places that offer extra extra cheese if you know how to order.

[ it was directed to Anyone, but natsumi is a great person to hear it, clearly. everyone else can shoo. ]
I'm pretty sure secret menus are just a secret way of making service employees hate you? Maybe that's just for coffee.

Да! Understood, Captain.

I would count in Russian, but instead I'll do it in Spanish 'cause I do not know Russian, [ hurriedly rambled in a whisper? she's not even sure if that first word was russian, stop her, ] but on three we hit it. Uno... dos... tres!
[ HOW GOOD OF A SOLDIER IS SHE, THOUGH, or actually maybe roxy is just a shitty captain. or maybe their teammates are the ones who doom them, because clearly anya and roxy know what they're on about. ]

Also he's trying to shoot her? Not important.]
It was cool sharin' style when we were on the same side, but I'm gonna have to get you for copyright infringement now, Rox.

she's dodging and trying to shoot back. also not important. ]
Jokes on you, bro, I patented this look in the womb. Trademark Roxy Strider. You owe me 20 years worth of royalty fees, which you can pay with your death. [ pause ] Laser death.

Teammate
She tilted her head around the corner in the darkened room of the Laser park and nodded.] I do not know if this will work, but it is worth a try.
Perhaps we will win this time, finally, yes?
no subject
[ apparently that's as far as roxy's competitiveness goes. can she out-style someone, her brothers in particular. if she could set the music to nicki minaj's verse in monster as she shot foes she would? ]
You ready?

it will probably become pretty obvious over the course of things that while dave is generally moving on the faster side of normal person speeds, he occasionally and more frequently responds too fast. it's more flashes than anything else, reflexes snapping him out of the way at a speed a little too much to believe, but. yeah. that's a thing. ]

You know usually when you're pronounced dead you don't talk anymore. That's been my experience with corpses anyway. What kind of final words were those anyway?
let's thread dave + gundam someday tho
oh my god that'd be a beautiful mess
not as big a mess as a joint post with them would be?

I don't need help getting up. [ He hopes his fence-scaling skills count for something here. ] I'll... boost you up, I suppose.

[He knows what Dave did? He's seen this in action before. He folds his arms.] Grab the lever, twist and crank it, you deserve a netting blanket.
[Right out of his sylladex to fly at Dave. OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING SOFT and technically Dirk is out of the game but Dave used his flashstepping so Dirk's going to use his dumb rap sylladex to tell Dave off.

We probably could. It's not exactly in line with the rules of engagement, but... this is war, right? I'm probably lighter, you're probably stronger. I'll get you up first - just keep lookout for incoming. Can you do- [She visibly struggles for a word to refer to whatever he's doing, before shaking her head.] -that again if it comes down to it?

[yeah it's SLIGHTLY startling to be hauled back so suddenly, and Chuuya shoots him a disbelieving look-- at least, before he considers that if he can walk on the damn ceiling, maybe it's not so strange.
The shades are weirder than the reflexes, probably.]
If you can see to get in there, then sure, sounds like a plan. Give me a leg up, would you?
[Maybe it's not within the rules, but he definitely doesn't care. Chuuya is here to win.]

Seriously, Dave...
( Related to speed, but he's not sure this is you know, a place to discuss certain jarring circumstances in the midst of laser tag. )
If you're fast enough, you can get in the front without being seen. But it's classic that no one ever looks up.
( That said, he's totally the one crouching and interlacing his fingers here. READY, DAVE? )

a-2;
Stay down for a second!
[The almost-order is snapped off quickly as Alicia moves her rifle to her left hand, both feet leaving the ground a moment later as she jumps to clear Jade, plants one hand on the edge of the window, and vaults over it and to the other side.
At least, assuming Jade doesn't poke her head up anyway. Then no clearing will be going on at all, and at least one of their heads is going to briefly be a lot less clear.]

[And she's clearly trying not to laugh and maybe failing a bit.]
They have those fried broccoli things with cheese?
[She suggested when there was a moment's pause.]
But we probably have to decide soon.

[A-1 | trial by fire]
[Alicia is not someone that's particularly skilled with a gun - she only half jokingly asked for some kind of gauntlet that interacted with the system - but she makes do. She's trained enough to have good spatial awareness, but it takes her a bit longer than is ideal to sight anything. That in turn means her shots aren't particularly great, but she's spectacular at suppressing fire. The first round or two thus goes... about as well as one might expect. She's agile, and she can dodge well enough, but she's just not wired to stay at range, and it's visible in her (brief) hesitation whenever she moves to attack. This is, in reality, her first time in "combat" where she couldn't just overpower the enemy, and she's sticking to cover as best she can. She's not afraid, given the serious expression on her face. Just cautious.]
[A-2 | out of the frying pan...]
[Alternately, you may hear Alicia screaming as she runs from what appears to be a coordinated attack on her position. As she comes around the corner in front of you, one foot on the wall to drive her down the corridor and not past it, she looks straight at you, and shouts:]
Don't just stand there, help me!
[B | aegis - wait, wrong season]
[At some point, Alicia switches tactics. Her new strategy can only be called "small unit tactics", looking to keep an eye on everyone. She covers their charges, watches their backs, and distracts the enemy. It doesn't work all the time, of course, but at least she feels like she's making a difference? Oddly, she feels a little more comfortable doing it, too. This suits her a little better, keeping an eye out.
It also gives her better angles to keep everyone out of trouble: at some point, when someone's about to get themselves shot in an untimely fashion, she'll slide in with a gentle nudge and then crouch out of immediate return fire, with a quiet "Excuse me!" and a small smile before she turns back to take a shot. She focuses on little positioning tricks like this to keep people moving and alive, while also covering herself from too much herself. Basically, she's playing defensively all of a sudden... is it working?]
[C | not quite a tea break]
[When she can get a break, Alicia returns to the tables, sitting down with a glass of water. Decidedly unlike the average teen (but probably a lot like Anya and maybe one or two of the others), she's controlling her intake and nibbling at pizza, cheese at that. That doesn't make her any less animated, as she cheerfully interacts with anyone that'll talk to her - indeed, she's almost being a bit more open than usual.]
It's been a while since I've done something like this! I kind of missed it, honestly. It's a little tiring, though... Oh! Maybe I should come up with some good one-liners for when I shoot someone. "Luck wasn't on your side today!" or something.
[Honey, quit while you're behind. Unless someone thinks helping is a good idea in which case we're all doomed.]
[D | wildcards]
(Or give me other stuff! Alicia is running high-energy today and is doing her best both to have a good time and not embarrass herself. In generally she's fairly playful and in a positive mood, even if she's losing. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, so.)

[No matter what certain memories hinted at about her being some sort of over-confident badass who just walked into a gun-toting blonde's house like it was nobody's business, Chloe was none of these things. She was in shape enough not to be floored with the games were over, but her hand-eye coordination was awful and she'd never so much as been to a firing range once in her life. In short, she was the worst teammate someone could possibly have, though she wasn't getting anyone else knocked out.
Still, it was obvious she was having fun when she came up and looked over one of the obstacles on the course and nodded quietly to a teammate.] I serve as a distraction, yes?
[Someone knew her role pretty quickly.]
Opponent -
[If you were after Chloe, it likely meant that it was near the beginning or end of a match. The later in the matches, the more that it was towards the end. It wasn't that she was completely useless, but she was obviously a greenhorn, so bigger threats needed to be taken on first.
Either way, somehow she'd managed to roll out of the way behind a barrier to avoid that last shot. It was probably just blind luck. She wouldn't be so lucky soon enough as she called out cockily with a laugh.]
Oh ho! I am getting the hang of this! You will have to do better!
[No she wasn't.]
Afterwards -
[Well, it wasn't that bad. Chloe had ended up winning two matches, after all. So, there was something to be said for it. She was sitting and trying not to make a scene of 'does not eat pizza very often.' Seriously, she was tempted to use a fork and knife on this thing, and that was just sacrilegious.
She smiled over at whoever was sitting next to her and spoke up.]
I needed this. To get out of the house a little, try something new. Did you have fun?
