[SEMI-OPEN] And the world gets smaller
WHO: Albert Wesker, whomever decides to join him (presumably you!)
WHERE: A coffee shop in Tisse; one of the squares in town
WHEN: 12/11 – 12/15
WHAT: Meetings with people, both planned and not. One open prompt, one semi-open.
WARNINGS: Discussion of various things that may not be ethical? Nothing graphic, it's just talk.
[I. PLANNED.]
[Those who were in contact with Wesker on the network post that he put out a while back and expressed actual interest in what he's doing will find that he's contacted you at some point during the week; the texts are all requesting a time at some point during the evening, after normal work hours, and they specify a location that's perhaps surprisingly public, given how cagey he tended to be on the post itself. But the coffee shop he's specified is quiet and low-traffic, the sort of place that lends itself well to privacy, and that's where he'll be waiting.
He's well-dressed, as he always is, the black suit is impeccable – though he's still wearing those dark glasses indoors, because apparently he's just like that; he's recognizable from his profile on Retrospec, at the very least. He'll glance over when you enter, but he'll allow you to come to him; as he'd said to a few people, these discussions are going to be one-on-one, there's no one else with him at the moment, and he isn't going to force the matter if anyone decides to simply not show or backs out of the discussion at any point.
After all, they're just there to talk, at least for the time being. Let's see where this goes.]
[II. UNPLANNED.]
[Of course, he's still around even when he's not meeting with people; Christmas shopping is...a thing, given that he still has no idea what he's supposed to get people given that he hasn't celebrated this holiday with anyone in a very long time, but even when he's not busy with that, he can be found in one of the squares throughout town, and he's got a...box with him? For some reason.
...It seems to be a somewhat noisy box that kind of makes little thudding noises like something is bumping against the interior once in a while. Once in a while, there is mild distressed screeching. ...Very melodic mild distressed screeching.
Dear god.
Either way, if the bats are giving you problems, he's going to notice; he'll watch for a while before speaking up, because that's just sort of his way, but eventually he will say something.]
If they're troubling you, I can take them off your hands.
[You know. As one does.]
[III. OTHERWISE.]
[Have something else you want to do? Feel free to PM me or grab me on plurk at
InstantEternity, and I'll see what we can do! Either that or just sling a prompt at me and I'll roll with it, I'm flexible. o/ ]

Miss Tohsaka, wasn't it? Again, the pleasure is mine.

[She chances a small smile, reflexive and filled with nerves, and immediately goes to fold her hands in her lap. Her eyes bounce gracelessly between the table and Wesker before she forces her voice out of her throat]
So... you wanted to discuss your... [A nose wrinkle as she searches for a word that doesn't sound as suspect as "experiment"] Your project?
[Yes, like he's in college scouting out volunteers for a human studies course. Ah well, she tried.]
no subject
Certainly. What we're looking at is something along the lines of a controlled medical trial - something simple, nothing more than a pair of injections, at an extremely low physical risk. For research purposes, nothing more extensive than that, though any data collected has potential to be incredibly valuable in future.
no subject
Well that's. That's certainly a Thing. And while Sakura doesn't quite stiffen in her seat, gears of thought are so clearly turning in her mind after an explanation like that.]
What do you hope to gain with these injections?
no subject
I'm looking to prevent potential catastrophes that may be caused by Retrospec in future. We have no way of knowing what those that have been "rescued" by them may have brought in with us; it's best to be prepared in the event of something unexpected, whether it's due to one of us or an unreality storm that proves fatal.
I already have reason to believe that some worlds may pose a threat in that way; it isn't a baseless supposition.
no subject
Okay. Then...
The injections will... protect against something? [Boost the immune system? He hasn't explained that in much detail yet, so she asks]
no subject
[...Honey...]
...As I've said to the others, I'm not going to make anyone take part. You're welcome to refuse at any point, though I can continue to discuss the project itself with you without the promise of participation on your part.
It's understandable if it's troubling you.

[Getting that part out of the way with surprising immediacy. Her brows knit together as she attempts to formulate her words properly. It's moments like this where she wishes she could switch into something more comforting and familiar, like Japanese]
It's more that... sometimes I forget? How dangerous being in this city is.
[Another pause. She takes a breath] And I hadn't considered the danger could be in one of us.
no subject
In the interest of full disclosure, one of the worlds I'm concerned about is my own. There were multiple instances of virus-based warfare that ravaged several countries; hundreds of millions were infected.
I want to prevent outbreaks like that; I've no way of knowing that anything like that won't be able to spread here.
no subject
And quite suddenly, this makes a lot more sense, why he's doing this.]
I see. [A glance is sent to her hands, both of which have fidgeted themselves into fists.] So this injection you've created is meant to combat a specific virus?
no subject
Nothing specific at this time, no - it's designed to affect the antibodies in your system, but it isn't directly targeted at this point.
no subject
In that case, how will you be gathering data? By checking my antibodies after administering the injections?
no subject
That's exactly it, yes. If you want nothing further to do with this beyond that, that would be the extent of your participation.
no subject
Okay... well, I think that's reasonable. Your proposition, I mean.
[It's nothing so extreme Sakura wouldn't agree to the terms, and the chance to help is enticing]
Um, where would we be required to meet for the injections? [She's assuming they're not shooting up in a dimly lit cafe]
no subject
I'll give you an address before the year is out, should you decide that this is something you want to do. If you have preferred dates, you can let me know that as well.
[...because we're not doing this in public, we are not animals]
