[OPEN] I’d feel like I’m not alone for the first time
WHO: Tatsuma Hiyuu and you!
WHERE: All over Recollé
WHEN: All month prior to Christmas Eve
WHAT: Catch all for the month! Spending time with friends and grandparents, doing charity chores, getting caught by mistletoe bats and - maybe even meeting someone new!
WARNINGS: None for now
[12/5 - Out and about]
[Tatsuma’s on a mission today.
With a ticket in hand, he approaches the tree, looking over the various packages until he locates his own. It doesn’t take long to tear it open, revealing...
A toy? He’s clearly pretty puzzled as he takes it out, examining it from all sides. The poor thing has definitely gone through something, that’s for sure; not only is it covered in dust and grime, but there’s evidence of dents that have been since buffed out, even if there’s still creases and warping in the material that couldn’t be fully repaired. ]
It really is...
[...Well, about what it had been described as. It definitely looks like something he’d get, that’s for sure. But he hasn’t seen it in any of his memories up until now, so...
Just where did this come from?]
[Mistletoe Bats]
[He’d spotted them as they flapped about - they’re hard to miss, honestly. But in his curiosity, he actually pauses to allow them to come close, peering up at then instead of taking the opportunity to flee.
It’s because of this that he ends up with a little mistletoe bat companion, flapping right over his head even as he continues to walk. It’s... not going to leave him alone, is it?
Currently, he’s debating making a fine use of his powers to sprint away. But maybe someone else can save him from this sad fate first?]
[Family and Friends]
[With the weather as cold as it is, anyone who comes by to visit Tatsuma may well find themselves invited inside by his grandmother. It’s so cold out these days, they’d best come inside and get warm - oh, and there’s apple cider and fresh pie, so help yourselves!
Tatsuma’s cheerful enough, his expression only dropping to one of annoyance when his grandmother parts with a teasing “Hii-chan,” because of course she can’t let her grandson have his friends over without poking fun at him.]
Ta-tsu-ma. Not Hii-chan. [Hmph!]
[That said... Starting on the 18th onward, any visitors may notice that his gaze lingers for a bit on his grandmother as she excuses herself from the room for the moment. There’s a slight, very slight frown before he turns back to the guest.
Whatever it is... Maybe it’s just his imagination.]
[Charity Chores]
>[A. Souji]
[It’s inevitable that the pair would sign up to work on chores together. The list itself seemed mostly harmless in Tatsuma’s opinion (if perhaps not in the eyes of whichever poor soul they settled on for a caroling victim). Although, of the list, the most suspect option was most definitely...]
Red and Green Chili Pepper Eating Challenge...?
[It’s been a sad discovery, finding that he could no longer taste his most favorite foods. However, little does he know, the lack of taste is not going to save him from the fate that awaits them.
There’s already a line ahead of them. They don’t have long before they’re called up, and Tatsuma watches the other competitors blithely. It couldn’t be that spicy... right?]
>[B. Jack]
[Tatsuma’s never met Jack before, but he’s sure that their charity work will go off without a hitch. Not so much because he expects it to be easy, but more because - it’s charity work. Everyone who’s signed up for such a thing must want to help, and all of the charity work assigned must be things that a general crowd could accomplish, right?
But then they get their assignments and he finds himself staring at that very first line, the echoes of his grandmother’s scolding in his head. Uh...]
Are you... good at baking?
[Please, please, please be better than him.]

Ah, you know I would if I could. Maybe after I graduate and my internship turns into a permanent position, I'll have a little more time.
no subject
Still, she has utmost faith that he'll be able to land exactly the job he wants. He's always been so bright, he'll definitely be successful at anything she tries! Tatsuma could learn a lesson in that, at least, from him.
The words are warm and fond and teasing, and Tatsuma just gives a somewhat embarrassed grin in turn. It's easy to tell he's phoning it in for most of his classes; he's not stupid by any means, but motivated? Not in the slightest. As long as his grades are average, that's good enough for him.]
Going to be an attorney... right?
no subject
He doesn't mind the praise, though. He'll send a small, knowing smile Tatsuma's way as he chews his next bite, making sure to swallow properly before he speaks. ]
If you ever need help with schoolwork, you know, I'm happy to.
[ He won't, but the offer is there. ]
Hopefully. My internship is technically as a paralegal, but I've been a consultant as well.
[ Which might be good for Tatsuma to keep in mind in case he ever needs legal representation. For, you know, something like assault when he goes on a rampage. ]
no subject
[Yeah he's never going to ask for help; he knows he can do it if he really wants to, his priorities are simply elsewhere.
Also. Why would he need representation??? Everything's going to be just fine.]
Is it interesting?
no subject
Interesting? Well...more that it's the only thing that really seems to be a challenge. ]
I think so.
[ Akira sets his fork down. ]
It's an area where I think someone can make a difference.
no subject
[Is what he presumes, anyway, not quite having heard the meta-text up there. Not his thing at all, but definitely admirable nonetheless.]
no subject
As the prosecution, yes.
[ He wants to put people away. ]
no subject
Proving they did it?
[Well, Akira's the type who not only could, but would do anything he put his mind to. If prosecuting's the way he wants to go, Tatsuma has little doubt he'll end up with the role sooner or later.]
no subject
Yes. Something like that.
[ No need to go into all the foreshadowing of his tendency to be a little judging.
He offers a smile. ]
Have you thought about what you're going to do after high school?
[ Let's put the pressure on his little cousin instead. ]
no subject
...Umm...
[That would be a no. STILL-]
Arts... maybe?
[Maybe An Answer is better than none at all?]
no subject
[ Oh, he's gonna tease a bit because that's his job. He's older. ]
You haven't spent much time thinking about it, huh?
[ Haha. ]
Well, there's nothing wrong with that. It's good to keep your options open.
no subject
As long as I get pre-reqs out of the way first, it should be okay.
[Now he's just putting off coming to a decision.]
no subject
Maybe you'll find something that piques your interest in the process.
no subject
[And with a somewhat shamed look, he takes the opportunity to fork some pie into his mouth, because he can't answer if he's eating. Even grandmother isn't fooled, laughing when she sees it. "Looks like you cornered him a little too closely, Akira."]
no subject
Corned with a piece of piece doesn't sound so bad.
