WHO: Émilie, a small dog, and you.
WHERE: All around the city.
WHEN: All through November.
WHAT: Tupai has escaped! Better find him before he gets himself into trouble.
WARNINGS: None?

It was kind of her fault, really, for not giving the little guy enough attention lately. She was more busy than usual this month.
So, it turns out a little certain someone had not only managed to get out and try to follow her, but got lost in the process...

...And who knows where Tupai turned up. Émilie doesn't, and that means she can be found almost anywhere in the city looking for her lost pet, putting up posters (or having people put them up for her) or even coming up to people with a picture of the white and red papillon dog.

[ It's one of the posters that Minato comes by, seeing Émilie tack one up to a utility post and sidling up to it when she turns to leave, hoping for a garage sale or restaurant special or... something that isn't a lost pet. He stares at the poster a little while, trying to memorize what the dog looks like, but eventually gives up and digs his phone out of his bag, switches to the camera, and snaps a picture of the photo, name, and contact information. ]

[ At least there's a large reward? Well, his presence has not gone unnoticed... and the worried woman soon turned her attention to him. ]

You haven't seen him, have you?

[ A reward of any sort is definitely something he'd appreciate as somebody trying to make ends meet, but the worry in her voice is enough to make him seriously consider doing what he can to help find the dog, even as he shakes his head that no, he hasn't seen Tupai. ]

Sorry... Can I ask where you saw him last? And when?

[ He has a few ideas of where to look, but any further information would help narrow down where to start. ]

[ She wouldn't turn down any help offered. In any case, she doesn't quite get that ten thousand is a bit overkill. ]

A few days ago as I left for college. He was at home. We think Tupai managed to wiggle out through a hole in the fence.

[ Not too hard for such a small dog. ]

[ A small dog, then, despite all the fluff shown in the photo. It gives him a better idea of where to search, but he also wants to assuage some of her worries if he can. ]

Where is home? For lost pets, what's usually recommended is to leave water and an article of clothing near where they were last seen.

[ Dogs, with their keen sense of smell, might seek their way back on their own, drawn to a familiar scent such as their owner's clothing. But it's approaching winter, and if he were a dog, he wouldn't be wandering around outside. ]

In the meantime, I'll check the cat shelters that were set up around the city. Might want to think about getting him microchipped after too. I work at the vet's in Enprise, and we can do it there.

A mansion in the housing district? I'll do that, then.

[ Even with all that fluff, the little guy will certainly get quite cold. She hoped he managed to find a warm place. ]

I should have had it done already...

[ A mansion... That's way out of his league, and he doesn't even know where to start looking for a mansion, when he's used to apartment buildings and school dormitories. There's only so many cat shelters to check up on, though, and he still has a map of where they all are from when he helped construct some of them, so he'll worry about things after he's gone through each one to see if a dog's settled inside. ]

Most people don't think about it until after the fact. We'll find him safely. It'll be fine.

[ She starts to feel a little less concerned now. ]

Okay... Ah, his breed does like attention.

[ Attention makes it easy; better than a shy dog who might run or hide when it hears its name, especially from a stranger. ]

I'll check the more populated places first, then. The parks. I can probably stop by work for dog treats in case that'll lure him out...

[ What else does he need... The stranger part is what makes it hard. He shifts his weight from one foot to the next, then looks up again. ]

What'd be most helpful is an article of clothing worn by somebody familiar. Hat. Scarf. Jacket. ...I can give you my coat in exchange, since it looks like you'll be outside for a while too.

[ Well, it might leave her feeling cold, but she has something on her right now... Her scarf. ]

My scarf could work?

[ That's why he offered his coat, but then he would be cold, so a scarf would even better going around freezing his fingers and toes off. ]

That'd be perfect. If I could borrow it for a week or so... If I can't find Tupai by then, I'll make sure to return the scarf.

[ She offers her scarf in exchange, then. It, of course, does smell of the delicate perfume she's wearing, so have fun with smelling like a lady. ]

All right, here. I hope you can find him soon.

[ His roommate might have something to say about the sweet scent lingering about him, but it's not like he's in contact with many other people throughout the week aside from his job, where the smell of coffee hopefully overpowers everything else. It'll be fine. He hopes. ]

[ He pauses, then mentally backpedals a bit, because it's not like he's the only one looking out for Tupai and it'd be presumptuous to think he's the Savior who will find him in the end. ]

[ Well, hopefully he won't get teased too much for smelling like a French girl. ]

[ Hopefully!! He puts the name into his phone, double checking the number against the one listed on the poster just in case he'd misheard any of the digits, then drops the phone back into the side pocket of his bag. ]
