[Ami arrives at IHOP shortly after she gets out of school for the day. Her lusus follows dutifully behind her, wearing a smart red vest with the words "SERVICE DOG" on it. She's a little early, but she's got some kanji practice worksheets to kill time with, so she does that. Anyway, the repetitive motion soothes her nerves about this a bit. She's spent most of the week alternating between "this is exciting" and "this is the worst idea I've ever had," and overthinking what she should say, what information she should volunteer, and so on.

It's a corner booth, so there's plenty of room for all five of them if need be! Or at least there will be once Ami's lusus stops napping on the bench.]

Yeah? I don't know, I know there were a lot of timeline shenanigans going on so it got confusing. And I know Jade knew more than she ever told us so...maybe she learned it from you guys? The only other ones I remember chatting with are Vriska and Terezi.

[...he shuts his mouth because yeah, okay. That's a good point and he doesn't know how to counter it. So instead he doesn't reply and looks away.]

[Ami's lusus is a little startled by the movement and cranes its head to watch Dave go. Ami watches him, too, but doesn't say bye and doesn't quite let her breath out until he's gone.]

[He doesn't reply immediately because he's staring at the table instead before looking up and watching Dave disappear.]

Depends on what they are, I think. The game itself was a little weird and confusing. [And he eyes Rose carefully because he's really not sure what she will or won't remember from all of this and he suddenly understands what, exactly, Dave was worried about with this.] What kind of details?

Well, like... [consulting the list.] It definitely involved fighting monsters. They came in different types, like Imps and Ogres... I've fought both of those here, too, in Recollé. Back in August. But I got the feeling the ones in our game didn't look quite like those, so maybe they were from yours?

Probably. I remember fighting stuff in our session, too. So it sounds like the games sync up at least which makes enough sense if we were all playing. But then again, Karkat told me that you guys actually played your game first?

[A skeptical look.] Unless he was just trolling me...

I don't know how it affected your game when you guys played before us, but I do remember you telling me that we caused our end-game much sooner. [He's avoiding saying a key word here i.e. "reckoning" because he's not sure he wants to remind the girls exactly what that means.]

So I can guess why we played the game. But what was your guys' excuse? Any ideas?
