So why hallucinomemories? I would've thought with the language thing happening an easier to pronounce word would be better.

For right now though she's shaking her head before she agrees to change the subject because she can't let him think that way - ]

Dante is - [Ah, wait. Catching herself.] You are worth it.

[And a little smile and a nod. No matter what kind of internet arguments might've happened, she's still going to hold onto this belief.]

[He won't fight it. She's wrong, but the last thing he wants to do is start arguing with her about it. Then he'll just look weak, begging for validation.

So Dante shrugs, dropping it and moving on to her next comment.]

I guess that's as good a reason as any.

Да! But you call them flashes? Because they are so quick like lightning?

Actually, it was because we don't know what they are yet. [Another shrug.] We get these flashes of something, but we don't know if what we're seeing is a memory or a hallucination or, hell, even some sort of vision. It covers all the possibilities without being as heavy-handed.

But I think I like your reasoning too. It's pretty good.

"Vision"...

[She turns the word over in her head - but her definition doesn't quite match up with what he's saying.]

Mm...? What do you mean by "vision"?

[it's not an eyesight is 20/20 sort of thing, right]

[Damn. How does he explain what a vision is to her...?]

Well, it's kind of like seeing something that isn't really there. But a vision is... [A load of crock?] ...more magical, in a way. You might see the future. Or maybe see something happening across the city to a friend, and then when you call them about it, you find out it really happened. It's not random, like hallucinations are.

[He doesn't feel like elaborating on the whole connotations aspect of the words. He gets the feeling using the term "pink elephants" might go over her head. That should be good enough, right?]

[Pink elephants would absolutely go away over her head.

Still - this explanation is pretty good. She nods in a little bit more understanding.]

You think that the hallucinomemories could be like that...? And only seen by people on Retrospec?

[Dante shakes his head.]

Right now we don't know anything. I do think that only the people on Retrospec are getting these flashes. At least, I haven't heard of anyone outside of it getting them. But there's no way to know what they are yet. We don't have enough information.

[Her other question makes his lips quirk up in a half-smile.]

It definitely sounds like a novel, doesn't it? This sort of thing usually only happens in fiction.

The only question is if you want to live that kind of life or not.

I do not know yet.... It would depend on what these things are, yes? Whether they are... Who we were - or who we are going to be?

[Her brow furrows as she shakes her head.]

Путаница... It is all very hard to follow.

[Dante folds his arms, shifting his weight onto his back foot as he glances away. This time, though, he's just thinking, not trying to hide his expression from her.]

It'd be one thing if we were all just suddenly getting superpowers or something like that--impossible, but I mean, at least then we'd have some idea of what we were getting into. With this... [He shakes his head, shrugging lightly as he looks back to her.]

We've got no idea what's going to happen, or what the end goal is. That's what we need to find out.
