Which part of it? The part where they ask a high-schooler to run a beauty pageant? Or the part where they drop the same buzzword they ended that last network post with?

Or are you talking about the fact that now we have a name to work with to figure out what this whole game's about?

So, what are your thoughts? About any of the points that you've brought up.

Well, my first thought is that I'm about to be doing a lot of cyber-stalking.

[Being so isolated from other people in real life means that Dante's had a long time to get good at hunting for information online!]

Secondly, I'm wondering what's in it for them. What do they get out of running this? I'd guess they came to you because of the Valentine's day thing you and Yu set up last month, but still. Wouldn't they need an adult to do this kind of stuff? [A pause. Actually...] I don't remember. Have you turned eighteen yet?

[ It's okay, Souji is going to do a lot of internet stalking too! But unfortunately, they will not find any info on this person :( just a Janet Wagnet who offers great yoga classes ]

No, but by the time this pageant starts, I will be. [ Birthday is March 20, yo ] Plus, my brother also ran the blind dating event, but he didn't receive anything like this in the mail. If that event really was the reason they chose me, why not Yu as well?

Well, don't the two of you live together? Maybe they just assumed you'd both run it together.

[Dante frowns, folding his arms.]

It's probably a safe bet to say that these people have our birthdates since they've got the rest of our personal information. So that solves that, at least.

Maybe they came to you because you were so gung-ho about the blind dates last month? You were the one arguing for the gold nips, after all. They probably thought you'd jump at the chance to run something like this.

Perhaps. It only had my name on the envelope, though.

[ Hence why the twins were able to figure out who the letter was intended for but hmm, Souji places a hand on his hip, thoughtful. ]

To be honest, if it was under any other normal circumstances, I probably would have been okay with running this kind of event. I would have been fine if another company contacted me as well, but from this mysterious company that we've never gotten proper communication from? It's pretty strange.

Why a beauty pageant anyway?

You're asking me that? Hell if I know. I have enough trouble figuring out why we need beauty pageants without adding shady apps into the mix.

Still, this could be a good chance to learn more about Retrospec as a whole. If they're sponsoring it, they've gotta send some sort of representative to be there, right?

[ Ew, don't snort, Dante. How rude. (But seriously, Souji just nods) ]

I was thinking exactly the same thing. There's nothing to lose in hosting the event, so I'll be doing just that.

Can I trust you in keeping an eye out for any Retrospec employees?

[Dante doesn't even hesitate before nodding.]

Absolutely. If I see any employees, I'll see what information I can weasel out of them. You'll probably know before I do if any of them are coming, though.

[A frown.]

And if you're planning on any VIP areas--for the judges, Retrospec reps, anything like that--I'll need to get in there too. I can't exactly track them down and wring them for information if I can't get into wherever it is they are.

Of course.

While Retrospec is handling most of set up for the venue, they're allowing me to gather volunteers and hire workers, so if you don't mind posing as either one, I can get you in the VIP areas and even at the venue while we're setting up.

[Ugh, actually having to do work? ...yeah, no, that's hardly even a factor here.]

Sure, I don't mind. Just let me know what you need me to do. It's worth it for a chance to hunt some of these people down.
