-The whirring of the wheels were mostly what you could hear out in the grey mired thickness of the fog, seemingly coming from every direction. It whips by, faster than any vehicle you probably know of, rushing here and there. Accompanying that are the sound of hurried foot steps, and panicked panting. The rattling wheels can't be pinned to a source, but the running footfalls are clearly getting closer.-
Hey! Hey, you need to get out of here! -Whether you know her or not, May is the one that appears from the fog first, clearly panting, a lead pipe in her hands. She had no time to bring her anchor along, having left it at the shelter, but the pipe has clearly seen some use. It's slightly dented, with scratches all through it. It probably couldn't hold up to much more abuse, whatever it was that abused it. But May grabs your shoulder, forcing you to look in her clearly tense eyes.-
Don't zone out on me, I said you need to run! Now! -But the source of her fear becomes apparent as the wheels sound again, rushing near.-
Shit! Get behind me! -May turns about, raising the pipe as if it were a sword of some kind. The source of the sounds comes from the fog... a bed frame. Just a simple bed frame by the look of things, with a young man seemingly strapped in. A closer look showed it was more than simply stapped, but with large screws piercing his shoulders, almost crucifying him to it.
But it didn't remain a bed frame for long. The wheels that had been whirring popped out to the side, extending, growing, as the bed itself rose off the ground. Mishapen limbs spring from the back of the frame, a huge crowned head rotating forth as the bed transformed from crude gurney into nightmarish machination. Its gaze, glowing and red, seemed to pierce into the very mind, causing a ringing in the ears, a throbbing of the temples. Its presence was immense and crushing, like nothing seen before or since.
One of it's long arms raised up, the wheel spinning like a rotary cutter, making a similarly twisted sound as it slammed itself down, caught on the lead pipe May raised in defense.-
I SAID RUN! -She screams. But where could one even run from a thing like that?-

-The realm of Morpheus doesn't bring any more peace to the girl. Crossing over into her nightmares, one finds themselves in a bizarre shrine of some sort, the giant heads of seemingly once living beasts adorning a central pillar, their features marred in seemingly ironic "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" fashion. The lighting is all provided by mysterious floating orbs, and they all seemed to move to their own ends, going this way and that. But any time to observe one's strange dreamland is interrupted by the sound of May's piercing scream.
Following it, you find her engaged in battle, and against something human-like, but twisted. The man had to have been at least nine feet tall, though he was crawling about like an animal, swinging a giant scalpel around as if it were a spear of some kind. All the while he couldn't seem to stop... laughing. And his laugh was twisted, cruel, dripping with madness. Blood stained the area around him, several disfigured cadavers strewn about, cut to bits, sewn into horrifying shapes. And he went after May, clearly intending to make her his next victim.
May seemed somehow younger, crying as she desperately fought back. But her anchor didn't seem to make much difference, only landing glancing blows on the lizard-like twisted body of her attacker. He screamed about her being due for surgery, and May could only scream back, swinging her the anchor to try and keep him at bay. It was working, for now, but who knew for how long...-

-If you had something non-nightmare related planned for May, go ahead and post a top level here and I'll respond to it!-
ii
The devil wasn't in the details this time; not when there were three marble heads, beastly figures that stared down at her, judged her, and that was all before the screaming started.
She ran, of course. Not because she recognized the voice screaming. Her legs made the decision before her common sense could, and they only halted when she stumbled upon the scene of May and-- and dear fuckin god, whatever that thing was--]
M-May-san!
no subject
May rushed to Sakura, grabbing her arm.- Run! Now! We have to run!
no subject
W-what is that?
no subject
He just... popped up. Right in front of them. Out of a doorway of some kind that just appeared in their path, the psychotic surgeon screamed as he caught sight of his victims once more, tossing some kind of gas spewing beaker towards them. The fumes were noxious and choking, May dragging Sakura along to the right in order to get away from it.-
no subject
She kept her stare forward, ignored the scenery in exchange for an exit, allowed May drag her onward until an abrupt stop and start that gave her neck whiplash. And then the stench of fumes hit her, causing an involuntary breath that sparked a migraine for her troubles. Her feet stumbled as May pulled her away]
Why is it-- [A tightness clawed at her chest and made the world tilt on its axis. The toxins, she thought distantly. Probably meant to stun.] It's after you?
no subject
It's some kind of tournament... I was trying to get some money out of it, I had no idea they were letting killers sign up!
no subject
Y-you signed up for it?! [Sakura's voice jumped at least three octaves. Maybe this was not the time to be judging friends for their questionable life choices, but there was a bald man on their heels, screaming obscenities and insisting the pair of them needed their check-up, and--]
Okay from now on if you need money, and we're still alive, please tell me first before you sign up for shady tournaments--
no subject
Run! Again!
no subject
We need an escape--! [A magic doorway, a slide chute, she doesn't care -- all Sakura knew is that she couldn't count on her adrenaline to carry her much farther. Her lungs were still on fire from that poisoned gas, and while May apparently had the endurance to go to tournament battles, Sakura was unarmed and unprepared.]

May was here. Swinging an...anchor? Against something that crawled on the ground, shrieked about appointments, and—
'The doctor will see you now.' That damned voice in that damned waiting room came back unbidden, along with all the attendant memories that went with it. This place had no sterile walls or pneumatic platforms, no whirling drills—but the same kind of doctor, as animal as he was human.
Lucy bristled and she lunged forwards, vectors surging from her shoulders like a spider's limbs, grasping for the creature's scalpel.]

I hate doctors!
[Lucy hated a lot of things. But this thing in particular could fuck right off.]
no subject
Despite Lucy's best efforts, a weird green aura pushed the fingers of the vectors away. The mad doctor laughed, licking his lips before driving the scalpel forward, aiming for Lucy's chest.-
no subject
The scalpel forced Lucy back a vector-assisted step; it was almost audibly sharp, and that damned green light was keeping her away from it.
But it wasn't long enough to keep her entirely out of range. If she couldn't destroy the weapon, the wielder would do.
What about his arms? He didn't need both of them. What vectors Lucy could spare the concentration for surged for his wrist and elbow, spectral fingers curled to grab and tear.]
no subject
Tearing his arm free, only a few bruises to show for it, he pulled a vial from his jacket and tossed it towards Lucy and May, the thing exploding violently as soon as it hit the floor at their feet.-
no subject
The sound of shattering glass made Lucy recoil immediately, but still not fast enough to avoid whatever the vial contained.]
no subject
Why are you trying to fight him!?

What the hell IS this thing! I can't get away from it!
no subject
That's what I'd like to know! You sure you haven't seen this thing before? [Then again, she thinks it'd be hard to forget something like this.]
no subject
I've been running from it for what feels like hours... I can never seem to shake it.
no subject
Maybe it's just this place being fucking weird again, like this fog in the first place. We just gotta make it past it, and we should be safe.
no subject
Maybe if we get inside somewhere... I'm not above a little breaking and entering just to get away from that thing. -She was trying to get some clear thoughts despite her brain being given the rope-a-dope by her fear. Fighting it was impossible, but escape may still yield some hope...-
no subject
[Honestly, who can expect them to live their lives normally when stuff like this happens?? She takes a look around though, hoping to see maybe a building or two despite all the fog.]
no subject
Hurry, I think I can hear his wheels again.
