WHO: Iwai, Fai, and Akira
WHERE: That one cat cafe...
WHEN: Oh about yesterday (this is not backdated shut up)
WHAT: Two trolls meet...much to Iwai's dismay
WARNINGS: ...honestly probably nothing. Just two people trolling a third because I thought this would be hilarious.
Honestly, he was hoping Akira wasn't working today.
Now, it wasn't that he didn't like the kid. It was more just that he knew that the kid meeting Fai meant that they would definitely team up against him. Because they were them and he was him. Even with the fog and the nightmares lately, he doubted they were going to put that on hold. Because what better way to distract from that than to gang up on him?
Still, as they got sat down, he didn't see the kid right away and he figured that he was extra glad he picked this place. This was a good chance to distract Fai for a bit. The guy deserved that.
And there were a number of cats around too. So bonus there.
Also sorry, Fai. He was totally wearing his hat.

Since their first date had gone so well, Fai hadn't seen a reason to mess with a good thing. That meant cross-dressing again. So here he was in a super cute fall-inspired date outfit (thanks to the cooler weather) consisting of a slouched sweater, a tiny skirt, and thigh-high boots. His blond hair was pulled up again into an intentionally messy ponytail and he wore just enough makeup to pass without verging into full-on drag queen territory.
(And oh, was he eyeing that hat. Mostly to steal like a trophy again.)
"Ahh, this place is so cute!" He was grinning as they took their seats, although most of that grin could probably be attributed to being on another date with Iwai. Between their first date and the roses Iwai had sent him afterward he'd been kind of in a giddy daze for the last few days. Almost enough to distract him from the creepy stuff going on outside in the city now. Almost.

It took him a while in his demon get-up for the Halloween theme, but he spotted them taking a seat as he fiddled with his attached wings. Raising his eyebrows, he hummed curiously before telling his co-workers that he would take care of that specific table. It was his friend, after all. They only shrugged and took it for granted as less work for them. The dressed up cats at least attempted to give Iwai comfort before their waiter from hell appeared right by the side of the table.
With a notepad in one clawed hand and a pen in the other, he gave his best customer service smile.
"What can I start you lovebirds off?" How could he pass this up.

He knew that voice.
He knew it so well.
Slowly, he looked up at the kid and took in his outfit. A demon. Never had a costume more suited a person in his opinion. (Don't get him wrong, he really liked Akira. Seriously.) Sighing, he looked at Fai.
"This is the kid I was telling you about." No point hiding it. Anyway... "Just give me whatever the special is right now, kid."
At least he had this cute dressed up cat for comfort. Scratching its chin, he smiled at it. Nice outfit, cat.

Fai found himself blushing bright red and buried his face in his hands, laughing quietly. This was only their second real date, people shouldn't be calling them things like that already! (Not that... he really minded so much....) A second later he paused, dropping his hands to glance between Iwai and their waiter.
This was Akira?
Forgetting the fact that he was supposed to be ordering something, Fai beamed up at their waiter. "Ah, it's nice to meet you! Mune-chan told me you worked here, but he wasn't sure if you'd be here tonight! I'm Fai!"
"Great costume, by the way!"
no subject
And it seemed like he struck a chord with how Fai started blushing. Though there are waned dark circles masked by concealer on his face, the edges of his lips quirked upwards as he shot a look at Iwai when Mune-chan was referenced. Mental golf clap, man. He did scribble down the special for Iwai, however.
"It's nice to meet you, Fai." He beamed back as best as he could, nodding in reaffirmation, "Tough luck for him."
Sorry, not sorry.
"And thanks. It's a little intricate and a hassle to put on, but I guess it suits me? If we forget that it's really flashy." Flexing the clawed gloves, he gave Fai a good look. "I like your clothes, too."
no subject
Honestly he didn't even mean that as an insult either. He actually really liked Akira and the trickster nature that he had to him. Besides, it wasn't like he was bad kid.
"How do you write with those though?" He meant Akira's gloves.

The demon costume really was pretty cool. Fai found himself peering at the clawed gloves as Akira flexed them, seriously impressed with the quality of the costume. And then he froze at the comment about his own clothes and wide eyes turned to Iwai.
He'd only just met Akira. Was he being serious? Was he being nasty, the way young guys could get? Maybe Fai shouldn't have tried cross-dressing again after all. He hadn't had any problems with it the last several times he'd done it in public, but maybe that bit of luck had finally run out. This was a stupid idea--
"Ah... thank you." Fai's smile was big and bright. Other than that glance at Iwai, most of the panic reaction was well-hidden. Don't mind him, Akira.
no subject
But. Huh. Akira only tilted his head at Fai's rather surprised reaction. All of his words had been genuine, so it wasn't sure why it garnered this rather distraught reaction. Maybe Fai was actually sheepish? While he wouldn't pry normally, he was an employee of this cafe.
"If what I said was inappropriate, I apologize. Iwai must be more of your type."
There. He set the stage all for you, man.
no subject
"He isn't messing with you, Fai. He really likes your clothes."
He was safe here to wear whatever he wanted. Iwai wouldn't let anyone go after him for wanting to wear clothes that made him happy. But, Akira was for sure safe.
Looking back up at the kid, he lifted a brow at him. "You're a little young to be flirting with either of us, kid."
Just saying.
no subject
"Ah, I'm sorry! You just never really know, you know? Recolle's a great city but not everyone is as comfortable with some things as others. Please don't mind me!"
That last part was enough to knock him out of his shame, though--at least for a moment. Fai laced his hands together and rested his chin on them, batting his eyelashes at Iwai. "Oh, Mune-tan's definitely my type! Or he was, anyway, until he just called me old!"
He stuck his tongue out at Iwai with a look of fake indignation and then laughed again.
no subject
"Sounds like him, but I'd be careful. Iwai is a bad boy."
Akira continued to give his friend a Look of indignation of his own. This was definitely for revenge because he definitely wasn't flirting. He was setting a stage for you two!
"But what will you order, Fai? Or will steal from Iwai's plate."
no subject
Though honestly if it actually bothered him they both would have known it by now. Crossing his arms, he watched them both as the cat near him sat there staring at them too. Hard to tell if the cat was on Iwai's side of this or just enjoying a free show, of course.
Because cats.
no subject
(What? It was true!)
Oh, right! His order. Fai hummed thoughtfully for a moment, then shrugged and smiled back up at Akira. "I'll have the same thing he's having~"
And hopefully the special hadn't been fish. Because hell if Fai had even been paying attention, honestly.
no subject
"They'll be out soon."
Guess what? The lovebirds were free from Akira's company. Of course before he left, he gave Iwai a look like we're going to have a talk about this later and partly be careful kind of look. Continue on.

Scratching that cat next to him, he gave a little shrug. Not much to be done about the fact that those two clearly knew each other now.
"So, a thing for bad boys, huh?"
no subject
"I mean," he added coyly, "I might have a thing for one bad boy in particular~" No telling who that might be!! "But the last guy I dated was a video game designer, and one of the guys I dated before I started school again is an artist, so. Not exactly what I would call 'bad boys.'"
"Not that I really think you're much of a bad boy either~" Fai bit back a grin. "You're much too sweet to be a bad boy, Mune-chan. Sorry!"
no subject
Not that he felt like Fai was going to listen to him. Obviously. Look at where they were now. Still, he couldn't say he minded that Fai wasn't listening to him about that. It was pretty nice having someone see right through him.
It was just getting Iwai to admit it out loud that was the problem.

And keep hiring hard luck cases for his shop so he can help them out? Yeah. Iwai's protests were falling on deaf ears here.
Speaking of, however~
"How are things going at the shop?" Not that Fai necessarily wanted to talk work on their date, but Iwai running his own shop was a big part of the guy's life, after all.
no subject
Anyway, he was being asked a question. Iwai made sure he kept scratching the cat next to him though. He'd made a friend here so might as well keep loving on the thing, right? That was what you were supposed to do with cats.
"Alright. Got a shipment in for some parts I want to use to make some special orders and some experimental parts. I think I can use them to get fiddle with the scopes I have to improve them."
He wasn't even sure if Fai knew what he was talking about so he paused.
"...Do you need me to explain any of that? It's fine if you do."
