She's As Cold As Ice....
WHO: The plucky health nut Felicia and YOU!
WHERE: Throughout Recolle
WHEN: October
WHAT: Nightmares + October Catch-All
WARNINGS: Event shenanigans that include medieval war trauma, fire, and everything in between.
Nightmare - You Never Take Advice
[...Somehow, the dark, dungeon-like castle didn't seem so foreign. The walls made of cold stone and the torchlit halls were almost familiar to her-- as were the knives she held in her hands, the way her skirt felt weighted down with the presence of many, many more. Breathing heavily, Felicia looked up at the imposing man in a full suit of armor before her and couldn't help but once more be awed by his height, for she was dwarfed even in the stiletto heels that she wore for this session.
It was best to train in your everyday wear, she understood. That way you were never caught offguard.]
Can we... can we stop for now?
[She panted, recognizing this for what it was-- one of those weird flashes she had been getting during her own training. Something that was easy to write off as a daydream, until the knives got involved.
Little did she realize this was actually a dream.
"You're always so flighty, Felicia. But, times like this make me wonder..."
The old knight's voice was almost gentle as he put away the knives he had been teaching her with... and brought out the great axe he sometimes fought with on horseback.
"Accept my challenge. I won't take no for an answer."]
Wha-- whaaaaat?!
Nightmare - Willing to Sacrifice
[The cold of the mountains didn't bother her. The rocky passages up, through the forest and the ravines, hadn't bothered her in the slightest. It was as if this was her element, a part of her birthright that she couldn't extricate herself from no matter how much time had passed.
And she knew she needed to hurry. Amidst the blaze of an actual battle raging about her, she somehow knew exactly where she needed to go.]
Come on, [She said to whomever was with her-- it could be anyone.] We've gotta get to the other side of the village-- and we've gotta hurry!
[Don't mind the skirt. Don't mind the heels. Don't mind the frilly maid outfit. Felicia herself is obviously paying attention to other things right now.]
Daytime - Someday You'll Pay the Price
[Recolle, have a Felicia.
Have a Felicia shopping for knives
With the slew of dreams she had been having lately, she couldn't help but find her curiosity piqued enough to go into the local martial arts supply shop in search of a set of training knives for herself to start practicing with
She felt like she needed to try.]

I-I'm just following my gut!
[She replied, her voice pitching defensively even as she weathered a wave of uncertainty at those words. How did she know what was over there, after all?]
If you're not certain about your skills, then just stay with me. I'll guide us through, okay?

But there's not a lot he can do if he's unarmed anyway, huh? No matter how good he gets or how much he learns, it's all worthless if he doesn't have the sword. ]
Alright, alright, whatever. [ Jack glances nervously at one particular fight that's slowly edging closer toward them. ] Don't have much choice, do we? We'd better get moving.
But if I see a free sword anywhere, I'm taking it!

In that case, take this and think fast. This'll be a crash course in knife training, if you want.
[And, spotting that skirmish nearby...]
That looks like trouble. Let's get going, okay?
no subject
[ He's not expecting an answer, simply giving the knife a dubious look as he takes it from her. This is better than just his fists, he supposes? But Jack's really starting to resent this learning on the fly stuff. ]
You're the one with the gut feeling. I'll follow your lead.

[Felicia said, teasing, before grabbing his wrist and taking off in the snow with surprising speed for a woman in heels. The snow and the rocks clearly weren't a deterrant for her. Dream logic, her own athleticism, or something more? Who could say?]

[ He lets out a surprised yelp when she grabs his wrist and hauls off, but after a few stumbling steps, Jack manages to keep up pretty easily. After all that running on the field, it's like he's made for this. Even the rough terrain doesn't slow him down much.
Remind him to thank the coach for making him do hurtles later. ]
You do know where we're headed, right?

The Other Felicia is always wearing an outfit like this, [Felicia commented without preamble.] I guess she was someone's maid.
I really don't know much about her yet-- but I do know where we're going!
no subject
[ He has had it up here with this stuff. None of it makes sense! Or maybe this is just dream logic - who can tell anymore? ]
How much further 'til we get there? At this rate, there's no way we'll get through this without a fight!
no subject
[What kind of maid trained in self defense with a knight, too? She didn't understand any of it, but she was choosing to accept the facts over questioning them too deeply.]
We're not too far away. I think I can see the building ahead!
no subject
Hey, look out!
[ Another skirmish has just appeared from around a corner, the fighters coming directly into their path. Jack grabs her arm, slowing them both before they get too close. ]
It's either fight, or go around 'em. [ His grip tightens on the knife Felicia gave him, ready to dive in after her and fight their way through if that's what it takes. But this is her dream. She's the one who knows where they're going, so she's the one who has to make the choice. ] What do we do?
no subject
It was too much to imagine.
Casting him a sideways look, she sucked in a nervous breath.]
I can clear us a path, just take whatever openings you find!
[And with that she was in action, deftly slipping out of his grasp to delicately heft one of the blades in her hand and hurl it at a fragile looking awning that hung above them. The impact loosened it just enough to send it falling atop the fighters, providing a distraction for Jack to act as he saw fit.]

[ But she’s gone before he can do anything about it, already moving while he’s still processing what’s going on. And suddenly, an awning he hadn’t even noticed is falling right on top of the fight before them.
That’s not an opportunity he can waste. Cursing under his breath, he makes a run for it, making a wide arc around them to make it past. ]
You better not get stuck back there! [ he yells over his shoulder. It’s like he knows what they’re supposed to be doing. ]
no subject
[Felicia called, hurtling around the fallen debris to catch up with her new friend. Reaching out, She grabbed his arm and pulled him around a corner--
--And stopped.]
no subject
Hey! What gives? I thought we had to get out of here?
no subject
[And, quickly, she lifted a finger to her lips before peering out behind the building once again to get a better look. Not even a few yards away was a young woman dressed in frills not unlike her's, with her glacier-colored hair pulled into a pair of neat twintails instead of the single high ponytail Felicia sported.
Most telling was their faces. The features were the same, but the other woman's were formed into an expression that was both harder and colder than Felicia's.]
no subject
In a whisper, he can't help but ask: ] That your sister, or what?
no subject
[Felicia whispered, clearly on the edge of panicking. She did have a sister... but, as far as she was aware, this wasn't her.]
I don't know much about this person's life yet. Just that she trains with a knight, but I think she might be someone's maid...
no subject
Well, whoever she is, we can't just stand here staring at her. I don’t suppose there’s another way around?
[ He’ll be surprised if there, honestly. ]
no subject
[Felicia looked over at her companion, clearly nervous from her stance and the uncertainty in her eyes. Somehow, she just couldn't shake the feeling that this was all wrong.]
I'm not seeing one, honestly.
[And, whomever that woman was, Felicia had a feeling that she would need to face her eventually.]
no subject
[ He pulls back to turn to Felicia with both eyebrows raised questioningly. This is her show to run here. ]
So? Which is it?
