nightmares

[ When you enter the dream, you're engulfed by darkness until you hear a deep and unfamiliar voice. It speaks in a language you are most comfortable with. ]

CASINO
It's filled with a variety of gamblers from talking fish to actual people. Shadows are also gambling? But they're aggressive due to their mass losses. There are several elevators and it seems like the treasure is on the VIP level.

If you choose to enter the CASINO, you may appear outside of the structure or on the first floor in costume and mask. Akira will accompany you in his Joker outfit.

VELVET ROOM
Are you a prisoner? Or a keeper? You can stand behind the bars with Akira, withstand the abuse and rebel alongside him, or on the opposite side—ushered by two wardens and a man with an elongated nose to carry out discipline. Rehabilitation is important.

If you choose to enter the VELVET ROOM, you may appear inside or outside the cell. Your attire will change into prisoner wear or officer uniform respectively.

MEMENTOS (SPOILER)
In the city of Recolle, you notice there's something strange. People walk past the blood red rain and the towering skeleton pieces. The irrelevant become forgotten. The forgotten vanish. Is it your hand that's disappearing? Or is it Akira's?

If you choose MEMENTOS, you'll be in your normal attire or in your underwear. Whichever your character feels less attractive in if you want. Once again, Akira is beside you.

[ Akira has been having a hard time with his nightmares. Some of them he remembers bits and pieces (all useless), but he's thinking a jog in the ungodly time where the thick fog rolls in is a good idea? Unfortunately not... He ends up running away from one of these three tormentors in his pajamas. What's with his luck?

As he looks behind him, he crashes into someone. Sorry. ]

TWIN WARDENS (SPOILER)
Their names are unknown to you, but they're two girls with silver hair with a single golden eye (an eyepatch covers the other). As attendants of the Velvet Room, they have this ethereal aura to them, even menacing as they shoot various skills into the fog.

"Come back here, inmate! You can't hide forever!"

"You're only delaying the inevitable."

IMPERIOUS ANGEL (SPOILER)
An angel appears with an abstract body shape. Wings scaling wide and halo spinning over its head, it spreads its several hands that hold instruments. With the rise of the triangle, the angel rings it with a clear ding. In a matter of seconds, a flash of light magic strikes near.

"I am what humanity desires. Why oppose me?"

You can hear the sneer in its voice.

GOLD PIGGER
This silver piggy bank may seem cute, but it's also massively large and rolls without end. What does stop it from rolling are valuable items. Throw something expensive and it'll take a break to appraise it with a series of oinks. The one in control is a half-fly guy throwing out some mad rhymes.

"Yo yo yo! You think you can just walk into my neighborhood and disrespect me like that, dawg?"

[He's already got his keys out of his pocket and flips to the right one. Pushing himself faster now, he shoves the key in the lock then hauls the door open before waving Akira to get inside.]

If this destroys my shop you're paying damages, kid.

[He says but honestly he won't follow through on that one as he goes to run in after Akira to slam the door behind him.]

We might die and you're worried about your shop.

[ He finds it refreshing... And makes him feel like they'll be safe. Once they enter the shop, the angel's voice cannot be heard at all.

It's like it disappeared entirely. ]

[geckoman]

Because if we live I'd like to still have a job.

[When he can't hear anything, he drops into his chair and pulls his hat off.]

Alright, kid. What do you remember about that nightmare?

[maskreant]

I'm sure you can cover for your own repairs? Your store is pretty popular for those that want to unwind and hobbyists... Hobbies aren't cheap.

[ He's poor, Iwai!! Poor...! Spending money on cat furniture! Akira heaves a sigh before plopping onto the nearest chair. ]

... Do you really want to know?

[geckoman]

Guess you better hope that thing doesn't do anything to my shop then since you're the one covering those costs, huh?

[Seriously, he wouldn't make the kid do it. But he'll still say he's going to.]

I wouldn't ask if I didn't want to know.

[maskreant]

If we survive, I'll see what I can do.

[ Because if the store comes crashing down, he only has Personas to help them. That seems fully equipped. ]

The world fused this weird place that represents people's cognition, so the skeletons popped up and the rain was red. People who were forgotten in the minds of people would also physically disappear... And I think that god, that thing we just saw, is behind all of that.

[geckoman]

So if they were forgotten they disappeared...

[That's what he was remembering.]

That thing has the power to do all that? Make people forget about others so they just disappear? Not to mention whatever attack it wanted to destroy us with.

[maskreant]

... Yeah, I think so. I don't remember everything, but I know that thing is definitely involved.

[ His shoulders slump as he tilts his head back, just staring up at the building. ]

But it isn't too bad. The Phantom Thieves defeated it in the end.

[geckoman]

The what now?

[...he's pretty sure he heard that right but he's going to check.]

[maskreant]

The Phantom Thieves? Apparently, they were a group of vigilantes that sought to change the hearts of criminals...

[ Totally Not Him. ]

[geckoman]

So I take it you're one of them then.

[Hey. That thing is after you, Akira. He can do math just fine.]

[maskreant]

I never said that.

[ STOP YOU'RE MAKING HIM SWEAT BULLETS. Lucky him that he's already tired, so it shouldn't look too suspicious. ]

[geckoman]

You didn't have to. I figured that one out when you mentioned them and since that thing was focusing you and not me.

[So he knows a group that tries to change the hearts of criminals? Well, rather he knows Akira who is one of them.]

[maskreant]

I could just be a civilian that saw it... Like you?

[ He tried so hard, but got so far... In the end, it doesn't even matter because Iwai might regain a memory from this. To be honest, Akira doesn't even know how many people know about their identities from their world. ]

[geckoman]

[Speaking of regains...Iwai opens his mouth to respond to him then pauses. A frown comes across his face as a memory comes forward. Watching...television screens in hell on Earth? That thing fighting these kids. The Phantom Thieves. And...]

Kid, you're the leader of 'em.

[He's sure of it now.]

[maskreant]

[ Iwai's face actually twisted, so Akira's does in turn. Oh, no. Not this—oh. ]

You... [ "Don't have any proof!" But who is he kidding? ] Did I tell you? Or...

[geckoman]

I remember watching you guys fight that thing. Guess all of Japan might have been. Maybe the world even. But you kids were fighting it and I know the main one was you.

[He messes with the candy in his mouth then shakes his head with a sigh.]

I ain't gonna tell anyone. I don't even know who the rest are. I just know you kids were doing good for all of us and I watched it and supported ya.

[maskreant]

... Well, you did practically gave us the firepower to fight for what we thought was right.

[ Akira is uncomfortable with the topic, but he settles slowly, even dropping his shoulder. He laughs a bit, almost hysterically. ]

I've always wanted to hear that we were doing good from someone else. All I had going for me was that the me in my memories believed we were—that my friends also stood by me... But it's different here. I'm different. At first, I found what we did excessive, invasive, and all of that.

[ He grows quiet. ]

So it's nice... I thought I never really cared about validation or what people thought of me, no appreciation won't stop me from doing what's right, but it's still nice to hear.

[geckoman]

I did?

[Huh. Probably one of those things where he just didn't ask where his stuff was going. That sounds like him.

He listens to the rest and then gives a little smile.]

It's looking like we were pretty close in this other life, kid. From what I remember I don't think this other me would support you if what you were doing was wrong. Maybe it was extreme but sometimes that's what ya gotta do.
