nightmares

[ When you enter the dream, you're engulfed by darkness until you hear a deep and unfamiliar voice. It speaks in a language you are most comfortable with. ]

The contract has been sealed...

You have agreed to provide the Trickster support
in his journey to oppose fate and seek change.

CASINO
It's filled with a variety of gamblers from talking fish to actual people. Shadows are also gambling? But they're aggressive due to their mass losses. There are several elevators and it seems like the treasure is on the VIP level.

If you choose to enter the CASINO, you may appear outside of the structure or on the first floor in costume and mask. Akira will accompany you in his Joker outfit.

VELVET ROOM
Are you a prisoner? Or a keeper? You can stand behind the bars with Akira, withstand the abuse and rebel alongside him, or on the opposite side—ushered by two wardens and a man with an elongated nose to carry out discipline. Rehabilitation is important.

If you choose to enter the VELVET ROOM, you may appear inside or outside the cell. Your attire will change into prisoner wear or officer uniform respectively.

MEMENTOS (SPOILER)
In the city of Recolle, you notice there's something strange. People walk past the blood red rain and the towering skeleton pieces. The irrelevant become forgotten. The forgotten vanish. Is it your hand that's disappearing? Or is it Akira's?

If you choose MEMENTOS, you'll be in your normal attire or in your underwear. Whichever your character feels less attractive in if you want. Once again, Akira is beside you.

[ Akira has been having a hard time with his nightmares. Some of them he remembers bits and pieces (all useless), but he's thinking a jog in the ungodly time where the thick fog rolls in is a good idea? Unfortunately not... He ends up running away from one of these three tormentors in his pajamas. What's with his luck?

As he looks behind him, he crashes into someone. Sorry. ]

TWIN WARDENS (SPOILER)
Their names are unknown to you, but they're two girls with silver hair with a single golden eye (an eyepatch covers the other). As attendants of the Velvet Room, they have this ethereal aura to them, even menacing as they shoot various skills into the fog.

"Come back here, inmate! You can't hide forever!"

"You're only delaying the inevitable."

IMPERIOUS ANGEL (SPOILER)
An angel appears with an abstract body shape. Wings scaling wide and halo spinning over its head, it spreads its several hands that hold instruments. With the rise of the triangle, the angel rings it with a clear ding. In a matter of seconds, a flash of light magic strikes near.

"I am what humanity desires. Why oppose me?"

You can hear the sneer in its voice.

GOLD PIGGER
This silver piggy bank may seem cute, but it's also massively large and rolls without end. What does stop it from rolling are valuable items. Throw something expensive and it'll take a break to appraise it with a series of oinks. The one in control is a half-fly guy throwing out some mad rhymes.

"Yo yo yo! You think you can just walk into my neighborhood and disrespect me like that, dawg?"

[ THROW ME WHATEVER! Baby haunts from the new ghosts or even the Retrospec Maze! Even anything normal. ]

[ All these things popping in and out of nowhere makes his job hard, especially when they have weapons and he doesn't. The most he can do is just dodge and escape, but either way, Dark immediately backs away from both--or at least attempts to. He steps on a tile on the floor again, letting several chunks of cement fall from the ceiling in random places. Should Akira dodge those, it'll make a huge dust cloud that covers the floor. ]

Brute force isn't my thing, so I'll just show myself out.

[ Akira does dodge it, but dodging forward. The cloud of dust that lifts off of the concrete and debris doesn't obscure his vision at all. The third eye switches on and he can see Dark glowing past the particles.

Yoshitsune positions itself behind dark to pressure him to a certain direction, following Akira's precise instructions—and he's literally going to football tackle him. ]

[ It's not like Dark can see through dust, since he's actually a lot more normal than one would expect. At least this one anyway. There isn't enough space to dodge like he always does, so he ends up getting tackled to the floor.

That hurts so much. ]

Can you get any more worse--christ.

[ Dark attempts to throw him off. He's pretty strong for a thin looking guy, but... ]

[ Akira is also rather strong for his age. After all the fighting in August and training every weekend since the momentous month of unreality, he has gained quite a bit of muscle. Of course it takes him a bit of scrambling to keep his hold on dark.

Sitting on him, he makes sure to pin Dark's legs so he can't thrash even more. ]

There we go.

[ Does he have handcuffs? Because I asked just now, he'll cuff Dark's hands? ]

... This is how it works, right?

[ He's been caught with handcuffs behind his back. He turns his head to the side for now. Dark can't do much as Akira is sitting on him and pinning his legs.

He tries to struggle anyway. ]

[ He won't lie that it's nice to see someone in this view, groveling on the ground and looking up at him with these eyes of defiance. Now that he gets a good look at him—he's attractive?

It makes him raise his eyebrows and an idea sparks. Let's try a taunt: ]

If you give me a kiss, I'll let you go.

[ HE IS SO HIGH OFF OF ADRENALINE RIGHT NOW. He's going to regret ever saying that... Maybe. ]

Over my dead body.

[ He's pissed!! It only makes him struggle more. Dark really doesn't like being in this position, but there's really nothing he can do with his current repertoire.

... On second thought, he'll just wait. ]

[ That is an amazing reply, he's so happy and proud of himself.

In other news, Akira stays seated here since he's not sure if he's supposed to turn Dark in because, well, he doesn't actually want to? So he'll wait with him. ]

You're a real Phantom Thief, right? I'm actually a fan.

Don't tell me that you actually play make believe in being a phantom thief...

[ He sounds so exasperated, almost rolling his eyes. ]

If you're such a fan, let me go.

I actually don't.

[ Because he's a real Phantom Thief, but he won't even admit to it in a dream. It's a secret that he'll hold until he dies. ]

Last time I let you go, it reset. Is that your doing?

[ Dark isn't sure what that means, but it sure doesn't interest him anyway. It's because that's just the kind of person he is. ]

Not sure what you're talking about.

[ He'll unlock those cuffs quickly and attempts to shove Akira off to gain distance between them. ]

[ He notices the cuffs being tampered with, but he doesn't take action. There's no point to click the cuffs back on when it's too late. He's being shoved off, too? Rude. ]

That was pretty fast.

[ Akira rolls back onto his feet, but proceeds to close the distance between them. He's adamant on sticking close to dark; it's almost scary how determined he is to pursue him like a psychotic lover. ]

Why don't you just give up already?!

[ Dark seems even more annoyed now and presses all the tiles on the way to escape, making pitfalls open, debris flying down, all down at Akira the more he walks closer to him. ]

Because you haven't given me the earring...!

[ Bless Akira's memories for giving him quick reflexes. He's able to jump the pitfalls and dodge the falling debris, still chasing after Dark with a lot of energy to spare. Dreams are the Best. He hasn't used his Person yet which would make this chase end so much faster.

... Actually, let's do that again. Akira summons Yoshitsune and has the samurai carry him. Zooming through obstacles, they pick up Dark along the way. ]

Hello.

[ Why is he getting caught like this?! Dark is so fed up at this point and he tries to escape, struggling against Yoshitsune.

And in doing so, he gracefully escapes! ... By that I mean he falls into one of the pitfalls that opened up earlier. ]

Hey—[ He thought he finally had him since it's quite the ride. Yoshitsune did speed through the corridor like they're in race cars, but... Uhm. Did he just fall into the pitfall on purpose?

That's so clever. Akira looks down for a second, gulping, before he takes a dive himself. If memory serves him right, keeping his arms to his sides will let him drop faster. THe Third Eye triggers again so he can check where Dark is. ]

[ The pitfall is a long way down. There's just water at the bottom, kind of like a well. Akira can see that there's a hidden passage on the wall, but he can also see Daisuke on the opposite side, leaning against the wall and looking up at Akira. Dark is nowhere to be found--it could be assumed that he took the hidden passage.

Daisuke has been standing with the water only being knee deep. ]

Akira? What are you doing here?

[ WHAT A HO? Akira frowns that he lost the Phantom Thief, but perks up when he hears a familiar voice. Oh. This is... Daisuke's nightmare? Does Daisuke think of him as a cop?

It probably doesn't mean anything. Scratching his cheek, he's feeling awkward now that it's someone he knows. ]

You probably have a better idea than me. I think I'm supposed to catch the thief. What about you?

Well... I don't, really.

[ He smiles a little. ]

He disappeared by the time I noticed he was here, so I don't think I can help you catch him. Sorry. I've been here for a while though...

[ Daisuke glances at another side of the well, which has one of the fallen debris from the trap.

He heard everything... though he takes something out of his pocket. It's like the earring, but the colors are different. Instead of a dark colored gem in the center, it's yellow-orange. Looking at it makes it easy to recall the color of the sunrise. ]

Did you need this?

... Oh, yeah. The one that was in the case was different though.

[ He opens the palm of his hand to receive it! Though this seems like a rather normal dream, this may be the weirdest one he has been in. Maybe it's because he has no idea how all of this relates to Daisuke.

He'll just let it unfold though. ]

Why don't we get out of this well? I can't imagine you want to stick around until you're covered in algae.

[ Daisuke has a conflicted expression on his face, but settles with a wry smile. He reaches over to hand over the earring to Akira. His wrist has faint bruises on it, but it's hard to see it clearly, because Daisuke takes his hand back after dropping the earring into Akira's hand. ]

I can't leave.

[ Akira is only smiling as he holds the earring carefully, then enclosing his hand so it doesn't fall or slip. The smile is still on his face as he looks down at Daisuke, not noticing anything too different due to the dim lighting, but...

uh... ]

... What?

You should go ahead. If he gets too far, then he'll escape for real, won't he?

[ Daisuke is just obviously dodging the question and is a little quiet as he speaks. ]

... I think it's more important to get you out of this well right now. It's not like this will be the Phantom Thief's last heist.

[ He has a good set of priorities. He can't just leave his friend down here? ]

... I wish it was his last.

[ His voice is even quieter now. Because of that, it makes a glass cracking sound a lot easier to hear. A dark smoke seeps through Akira's fingers in the hand that holds the earring. Should he choose to open his hand to see, the earring will no longer have the yellow-orange center gem. It's just like the Dusk version that he was supposed to guard up in the room. However, the black gem is cracked, which is why there's dark smoke coming out of it.

Daisuke is no longer there. The trap debris has also disappeared from the well. It's just Akira there, alone, with the knee-deep water. A sense of emptiness overwhelms the small space.

A calling card drops from above. It's unsigned.

"I will come take everything you have."

There is nothing after to reflect the emptiness of the well.

It's time to wake up. ]
