NOTE!! You can leave an empty comment with the subject header of your choice or even RANDOM for something unlisted/miscellaneous (lighthearted) and I'll write the prompt. For nightmares, it may skip around and make no sense very much like how actual dreams are.

nightmares

[ When you enter the dream, you're engulfed by darkness until you hear a deep and unfamiliar voice. It speaks in a language you are most comfortable with. ]

The contract has been sealed...

You have agreed to provide the Trickster support
in his journey to oppose fate and seek change.

CASINO
It's filled with a variety of gamblers from talking fish to actual people. Shadows are also gambling? But they're aggressive due to their mass losses. There are several elevators and it seems like the treasure is on the VIP level.

If you choose to enter the CASINO, you may appear outside of the structure or on the first floor in costume and mask. Akira will accompany you in his Joker outfit.

VELVET ROOM
Are you a prisoner? Or a keeper? You can stand behind the bars with Akira, withstand the abuse and rebel alongside him, or on the opposite side—ushered by two wardens and a man with an elongated nose to carry out discipline. Rehabilitation is important.

If you choose to enter the VELVET ROOM, you may appear inside or outside the cell. Your attire will change into prisoner wear or officer uniform respectively.

MEMENTOS (SPOILER)
In the city of Recolle, you notice there's something strange. People walk past the blood red rain and the towering skeleton pieces. The irrelevant become forgotten. The forgotten vanish. Is it your hand that's disappearing? Or is it Akira's?

If you choose MEMENTOS, you'll be in your normal attire or in your underwear. Whichever your character feels less attractive in if you want. Once again, Akira is beside you.

[ Akira has been having a hard time with his nightmares. Some of them he remembers bits and pieces (all useless), but he's thinking a jog in the ungodly time where the thick fog rolls in is a good idea? Unfortunately not... He ends up running away from one of these three tormentors in his pajamas. What's with his luck?

As he looks behind him, he crashes into someone. Sorry. ]

TWIN WARDENS (SPOILER)
Their names are unknown to you, but they're two girls with silver hair with a single golden eye (an eyepatch covers the other). As attendants of the Velvet Room, they have this ethereal aura to them, even menacing as they shoot various skills into the fog.

"Come back here, inmate! You can't hide forever!"

"You're only delaying the inevitable."

IMPERIOUS ANGEL (SPOILER)
An angel appears with an abstract body shape. Wings scaling wide and halo spinning over its head, it spreads its several hands that hold instruments. With the rise of the triangle, the angel rings it with a clear ding. In a matter of seconds, a flash of light magic strikes near.

"I am what humanity desires. Why oppose me?"

You can hear the sneer in its voice.

GOLD PIGGER
This silver piggy bank may seem cute, but it's also massively large and rolls without end. What does stop it from rolling are valuable items. Throw something expensive and it'll take a break to appraise it with a series of oinks. The one in control is a half-fly guy throwing out some mad rhymes.

"Yo yo yo! You think you can just walk into my neighborhood and disrespect me like that, dawg?"

[ Yu's breathing immediately eases when Akira remembers who he is, which twin he is, and the relief seeps the tension from his shoulders. Getting both his knees beneath him, he'll sit on his heels and reach for Akira without thinking, a reflexive motion that finds him touching his friend's elbow with one hand.

There's a shivery terror at the center of his chest, i'm not souji i'm not him please-- i'm me, and he tries not to pay it any mind. ]

I'm fine, [ he breathes out on a sigh, trying to smile. ] I'm fine. You...

[ --see me--

He shakes his head. ]

What about you?

[ Why are you touching him? He looks startled at first since he’s still thinking this is just some awful dream where they’ll wake up from, but he’s still here. Giving a rather tired smile, he ruffles Yu’s hair to calm him down. It’s all right, it was just a mix up. ]

There’s a slight ringing in my ears and I feel lightheaded, but... I haven’t disappeared like I’m supposed to, so I’m okay.

[ Thumbs up! He’s doing... his best to come off as normal and Fine with this. Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop from the blood raining down on them. The number of skeleton pieces only grow before it creates canopies over the city. The purge starts and they see someone next to them fall backwards, screaming for their life as they disappear into a dark haze. The crowd walks by, not even paying them a pitiful look. ]

[ Who knows? He felt like he should, like he needed to. Maybe Akira's solidity helps him remember his own.

Yu's smile goes crooked when Akira ruffles his hair, and he huffs a barely there laugh, little more than a breath. It's a relief... to feel real.

Of course, that cheery, straightforward description of something that should be horrible... somehow it makes him think of Souji, and Yu's smile turns to a gentle frown. The scream of the passerby tumbling into the darkness gets him to startle, and though he stares, his expression doesn't much change. He does get to his feet, though. This ... is a nightmare. One of many he's visited. ]

"Supposed to"?

[ Akira is doing the best he can to be normal. Don't worry, Yu! He is nothing like your brother, but unfortunately similar in this dream. There's just... So little one can do. Picking himself up, he frowns alongside Yu, feeling rather listless yet dispassionate over that single disappearance. ]

Yeah... When the everyone's subconscious fused with reality, people disappear when they're forgotten. It really shows you how little you really are in the world.

[ A second disappearance happens somewhere a couple feet away, then another... Eventually, people realize and the screaming start. A dark, foreboding voice can be heard from all directions: "don't worry. Soon you will be erased from the masses' cognition. It is only a matter of time." ]

... how little?

[ Yu takes a few steps forward, staring up at the bones once again. The voice makes his shoulders jump, but that's all. Yu starts to frown and he looks back at Akira. ]

... is that really what you believe? That you'll simply... disappear from the hearts of the people who care about you?

I don't, but it's not like I have a choice. We failed, so this is our punishment for fighting back.

[ There's a shrug. He has had this kind of nightmare a couple of times outside of this month and it almost feels homely. Closing his eyes, he tries to shut out the scenery around them. The crowd is already in a panic as people start disappearing left and right... The same voice chuckles, amused by it all. ]

I'm sorry. If you... If you weren't my friend, I'm sure you wouldn't be here. [ He laughs a bit. ] It's my fault.

It's not true.

[ stalwart, frowning around at the chaos as if it's personally offending him. he reaches out and grips Akira's shoulder and tries to get the other boy to look at him. ]

If I'm here because I'm your friend, then I'm glad. I wouldn't want you to experience this alone. And I don't believe that you'd fail. Not you.

Wouldn't it be better—[ Why are you making this so difficult?

Yu breaks him out of his words, startling him to turn and actually look at him. In his grey eyes Yu will be brought into the same memory in Tokyo. Some familiar faces are beside him: Ryuji Sakamoto, Ann Takamaki, Yusuke Kitagawa, Haru Okumura, Futaba Isshiki, an unfamiliar girl, and a black and white cat succumb to this horror. They gasp for air, tremble in fear as they're brought to their knees... In their last moments, tears well up in their eyes before they disappear completely into black particles. A phrase repeats itself like a broken record.

"There is only ruin in your future."

When the flashback ends, Yu is here in the same place, the same position, as if time never went forward. ]

I'd rather do it alone then let anyone go through that. I'll be okay, Yu...

[ Yu is left staggered and horrified in the wake of what felt so very powerfully like a memory. Is that something Akira saw? All of his friends dying?

That can't be the end. It can't.

(But he and Souji lost Nanako.) ]

No. [ A little more thickly this time, and it takes him a moment to recover, but once he does he is, if anything, even more determined than before. ] If it were me, you'd never let me go through this alone. You're my friend. I won't leave.

Yeah, but it isn't you—I...

[ And, in the end, that's what matters. As long as his friends are kept at a distance, as long as they're safe, this is fine. He doesn't mind carrying the burden on his shoulders.

How can he just spew all of that when he sees how determined Yu is? It's the flame in his eyes... It reminds him of something. It sparks something inside him that has been dormant since the beginning of this nightmare. He smiles brightly at him, though there is hidden sadness. ]

You're going to regret this.

[ But he holds onto Yu's wrist. The terrain changes entirely to a coliseum of jail cells. If he looks, they're definitely the residents of Recolle. ]

[ ... well, that's a sudden change in mood. Yu is left blinking as Akira grins at him. Everything is happening so quickly -- this is a lot to process.

He doesn't have time to contradict the other boy before their surroundings change. The jail cells... isn't this familiar? Yu frowns. ]

... what now?

[ In a black blue flame, his clothes change to his Phantom Thief outfit. He was wearing it during this battle, too... He's most comfortable in it. When Yu asks the question, Akira hesitantly points to their opponent across the field. ]

We kill a god.

[ It's a giant black cup with search lights and clockwork. If Yu remembers that strange, dark voice from earlier, it comes from the same entity: "you are a fool. The masses have already chosen a life without thinking on their own, without making decisions on their own...! They wished to be ruled over!"

Yikes. ]
