nightmares
[ When you enter the dream, you're engulfed by darkness until you hear a deep and unfamiliar voice. It speaks in a language you are most comfortable with. ]fogThe contract has been sealed...
You have agreed to provide the Trickster support
in his journey to oppose fate and seek change.
[ Akira has been having a hard time with his nightmares. Some of them he remembers bits and pieces (all useless), but he's thinking a jog in the ungodly time where the thick fog rolls in is a good idea? Unfortunately not... He ends up running away from one of these three tormentors in his pajamas. What's with his luck?wildcard
As he looks behind him, he crashes into someone. Sorry. ]
[ THROW ME WHATEVER! Baby haunts from the new ghosts or even the Retrospec Maze! Even anything normal. ]

They address him, they try to talk to him, and all those words are written out and float above their heads only to disappear. It's hard to keep track who is who; they come and go. Even if you start pinning names on them, their faces remain X'd out.
Despite that, everything seems normal. Even the background music is generally peppy. During his homeroom class, he'll find one in the back corner desk, twirling his pen in his hand with great dexterity. His face isn't X'd out. It's Akira. ]

...
When he walks into homeroom, a sense of relief washes over him as he sees someone familiar that doesn't have an X blocking their face. Since this is a dream, he feels like he won't have consequences for ruining class, so-- ]
Akira!
[ He waves, not so stealthily at all. ]

"How weird..."
"Why would anyone associate with him?"
"He's so gloomy all the time. Really dampers the mood."
"A true mood killer."
"Didn't he leave? He probably won't stick around again."
"I almost forgot what's his name. He never really talks, y'know?"
It takes a moment, but Akira does look over to Daisuke's direction in confusion. No one has called his name before. This should lead to a nice reunion, but... Unfortunately, Daisuke will find an X slowly forming on his own face as Akira turns away.
"Class is starting! Get in your seats." ]

He wonders though, why didn't Akira say anything? Why does the class seem to not like him so much? Akira didn't seem to be like what everyone was saying from his experience, so... why?
He feels a little anxious, sitting in his seat, waiting for the class to finish. He keeps an eye on Akira every now and then during class that he doesn't have the energy to pay attention to. ]

Akira stays behind as the rest of the class leaves the class, bouncy and cheerful as ever. Their conversations show above their heads, but get fuzzier in the distance. Of course Daisuke has some students approach him, asking if he wants to go eat lunch with them? It seems like the Xs on these students' faces are peeling off slowly?
If Daisuke looks over, Akira is watching from the corner of his eye, head propped in his hand and elbow resting on his desk. ]

He wonders if it's a good chance for him to go over to Akira soon and hopes that he doesn't leave... ]
no subject
Creeping in the corner of Daisuke's vision is that pesky X again, planning to cover his face once more. ]
no subject
... Anyway. He looks back at Akira with an exasperated look on his face. ]
What's with the X's?? And why did you ignore me? Isn't this a dream?
no subject
... I don't know who you are? And I'm not sure what you're talking about.
[ You're scaring him? He even looks away awkwardly, rubbing his neck like this is the worst situation he could be in. ]
Why are you even talking to me? Didn't you read what they said?
no subject
He's at a loss for words for a brief moment, but he thinks back on what the others said. It makes him frown. ]
What they said doesn't... really matter.
[ When he sees Akira looking away awkwardly, Daisuke can't help but to do the same. It feels as if he just went up to a stranger and demanded something weird from them.
Well, it's lunch time isn't it. Daisuke glances at the clock and then looks back at Akira. ]
Do you want to eat lunch with me?
no subject
Why? showers the room, but disappears when Akira has to find an answer. ]
I'm sure you have friends you can eat with...
[ It isn't a no. ]
no subject
But I'm asking you! That's okay with you, right?
no subject
Yeah... It's all right. Go ahead and take a seat?
[ But he doesn't seem to remember his name. ]
no subject
Now that he settled into his seat. He just looks at the food and laments on how awkward he feels to the point that he can't look up at Akira aaaaaaaaa ]
no subject
He keeps his gaze down to the food, too. It's time to play the avoid Olympics. ]
... You seem nervous. Are you all right?
[ What happened to that boldness? ]
no subject
Let's eat! You must be hungry, right?
[ It looks like he got his determination back--sort of. His expression says it all. It looks like he'll be force feeding Akira if he doesn't eat, tbh. ]
no subject
I'm actually not that hungry, so go ahead and eat.
[ He'll nibble every once in a while, but he's content with just looking out the window and down at their meal. However, there's a foreboding presence by the class exit and entrance. ]
no subject
Why do they keep saying those things about you?
no subject
Because I'm weird, I guess.
[ He's fast to accept it. ]
no subject
That's so dumb... If anything, there have been weirder people in Recolle. I don't see why you have to be shunned for that.
[ He eats a bit more. The fish cakes are surprisingly good for something that popped out of nowhere. ]
no subject
[ He'll nibble on some salad now. It's pretty tasty, so he ends up nibbling some more than intended. For some reason, he isn't at all worried about the looming figures by the door, even if something like red spider veins spread into the classroom. The room... starts pulsing.
Like a headache or a heartbeat. ]
It's not their fault. I've been pushing them away, too.
no subject
Daisuke feels like the pulsing is giving him a headache. There's a slightly distraught look on his face as he looks at Akira. He can't eat anymore because his surroundings are too concerning--IS IT REALLY THE TIME TO EAT RIGHT NOW?! ]
Why is the room...
no subject
[ It's a distorted way of seeing it... That having a friend or just someone that he can talk to in public is seen as an anomaly to the universe. This small yet necessary desire for companionship is wrong.
So the world is breaking, slowly. Even the people are turning strange. The veins continue to spread throughout the room before it becomes a bright red color. It's beating. ]
It's better if I'm alone, anyway. I'll be fine.
no subject
Isn't that a bit too much...?
[ Admittedly, Daisuke is internally freaking out over the change in their surroundings. ]
But don't you have friends already? And a boyfriend??
