[Open] The first days of autumn
WHO: Elda Marker and You
WHERE: Outside of her house,
WHEN: Over the next week, variable times.
WHAT: Elda Marker gives delivered a coffin, hangs out in the park at night, and goes to the zoo to face the bats
WARNINGS: None???
A) In which something a little strange happens in the morning. [House]
[ Bright an ... well, okay, it's not that early, it's more like 8-9AM, it's the time when people are at the tail end of commuting to school or work. (or it can be the weekend if you want, whatever) and there's a ring at her manor's doorbell. The woman goes outside (wearing sunglasses and a nightie? What a weird combo? and there's...
A coffin.
...A big coffin, there at the end of her driveway, big enough to fit two people. She has super strength, so the lugging it isn't really that hard! But... it's awkward? And more to the point: ]
Oh come on, Retrospec...
[ Because it has to be them, right? ... She can't fit this through her door. In the garage? The back door? Yeah, the back storage room might be better. ]
B) In which something a little unexpected happens during the day. [Zoo]
[ Pushing up her designer sunglasses... well, Elda should be going to go and probably looking for some new job, maybe finding somewhere else to socialize? Instead, here she is going to the Zoo. Something's been bugging her for a long while now, and she's due to go to that fight club thing sometime this week (on the 24th) so she decides to take a visit to Recolle's zoo. While she is going all over the place, somewhere she's lingering is their bat enclosures.
... She's reading every plaque in there. Maybe talking to some zoologists if they're around. Definitely watching the things fly and taking off her sunglasses in the reduced light. Her eyes probably make her seem right at home here. But... hey. ]
So'd you know the biggest ones just eat fruit? [ Or any other fun fact. Or maybe asking you for bat facts. ]
C) In which something a little odd happens in the night. [Park]
[ It's nice to not wear sunglasses. Honestly, she's frustrated that she does these days. It's for this reason that she's out and about in the park around ... well, late. 10PM? Midnight? Is there a curfew because she's sure breaking in. She's mostly just rocking on the swings, hanging out near the jungle gyms. She's also got a deck of cards and is playing solitaire sometimes? Or...
Basically she's just relishing being able to see in the dark. She doesn't get a lot of chance to do that, okay? Plus winter's coming, soon it's going to be too cold to do this in just a jacket. ]
D) Tell me whatever you want
[ I'm open to anything else! Most of these prompts don't explicitly mention the thoughts or sound effects but if you're okay with that / would want to do it like that feel free to put that in the reply or the subject. He isn't really expecting anyone else to be here; he can't see terribly well in the dark and not nearly as well as Elda can, but movement will catch his eye and he'll follow it, and there's Elda on the swings, and...
Maybe he should have expected her out here; the fact of the matter is that he didn't, not exactly, and it's taking him a moment to work out what to say from here.]
Enjoying yourself...?
[So, standard greeting it is, really. Lacking charm, as always.]

[ she says this somewhat sheepishly, but Albert of all people is someone she can be honest for. She pushes off with a particularly hard swing and lands on her feet, grinning at the man ]

[...You are kind of adorable in the right contexts, you know.]
I don't have half as good a reason for being out here tonight; I can't say I'm opposed to company if you aren't, however.
no subject
[ Which she knows is a little sad, but it's... honestly, it's really cool to see how far she can see in the dark like this. ]

Don't worry too much about the entertainment; I've found it pleasant enough just being out here. The city is...different at night, it's good to just be out here sometimes.

[ In a park like this, it's not quite as bright as in the downtown at night, but it does feel like another world. She closes her eyes a moment, inhales, and then opens them, looking around. She laughs a little.
She... knows, ultimately, his meaning is going to be different than her own in that. But albert can probably appreciate what she'll get to next. ]
That poster on the street light over there [ at the end of the block ] is for a lost dog, you know? I can read the number. What's more, that tree over there has a birds nest in it. I can count the leaves. Honestly, I suppose it's silly to say something that is literally night and day is that... but my eyes feel so liberated here at night, with the world so much clearer than constantly through sunglasses.
[ She supposes he's the wrong person to say that last thing to, but. ]
a; omg...
An enormous coffin being slowly hoisted upright in a driveway just so happens to qualify for this, as it turns out.
The movement catches the corner of his eye first, and Aizawa has to do a double-take to properly take it all in, but...yeah. That sure is a giant coffin. His pacing down the sidewalk slows, stops completely more or less at the edge of the end of Elda's driveway, his travel cup of coffee still sort of frozen halfway to his mouth in his distraction.
What.....how is that. Moving. Where--oh, it's being turned a bit now, and suddenly whatever's propping it up becomes clear on the other side.
It's Elda. Oh.]
...Ms. Marker? [It's kind of hesitant, and out before Aizawa can quite stop himself, but honestly. ...There's got to be some kind of context here. He also can't exactly just walk away like he hasn't seen anything now?? Ah...
Where to even start and what to even ask, though...]
Do you...need help with that? [CLOSE ENOUGH]
no subject
Oh no, I can manage! Good morning, Mr. Aizawa.
no subject
Aizawa remains hovering at the edge of the driveway, taking in the awkwardness alongside the strangeness with a slight frown.]
...Good morning... [Slowly. He takes a swallow from his coffee cup. This does not seem to mitigate his confusion any.] You sure? If you say so...that looks pretty heavy, though. ...Getting ready for Halloween already?
no subject
[ She is but one small woman... ] It just appeared at the end of my drive.
[ So it's Retrospec. Or a weird prank? that said, that might be a good idea, a decoration... ]
no subject
Enough so that he's finally approaching properly anyway, since he's not in a particular rush to get where he's going, and he really is a bit concerned that she's going to drop the coffin on her foot at some point all the same. Not to mention her answer, which is...even more mystifying than early Halloween decorating would have been, by a long shot.]
Just--appeared, really? This morning? [Retrospec does immediately come to mind. This is nonsensical, Retrospec specializes in nonsensical things, weird deliveries seem to be another aspect too...] This could very well be an odd package from Retrospec, then, but I'm guessing you've already figured that. ...You think it's intended for you? [Kind of...ominous....] What will you do with it?
no subject
I was probably delivered. I'm assuming there's shipping information somewhere - but yes, it might well have popped into existence. I didn't see either way. [ Haha... ha. ] If it's anything like that oar thy gave me or some nail polish I got either, it'll be impossible to lose anyway, so I was thinking I would put it in the basement, or perhaps the back garage.
[ She's... also dead certain it's for her, but she didn't answer that part. ]
A
Good morning, Elda! I see you've gotten something interesting!
[why do you have a coffin oh my god, why is retrospec like this.]
no subject
... Yes, sure seems like it!
[ She's gotten it to her door by now, lifting it awkwardly, and she's realized that... it's not going to make it through the front door. Or at least, not without her putting this at a weird angle or - well. Mm. ]
no subject
[He says, while doing absolutely nothing to help like a total jackass.]
no subject
[ but she's ... well, trying to get it through - ? No, that's going to scuff the sides. Mmm. ]
