WHO:Ichirou Matsuoka... and YOU!
WHERE:All over the city, really.
WHEN:The 22nd
WHAT: Detective Ichirou Matsuoka is not having a very good day. This is obvious in any one of these sad scenes.
WARNINGS:Probably nothing? Cursing maybe?
Lunchtime
[Ichirou can be found leaving a small deli around lunch time, sandwich in hand. It's an almost comically large sandwich.
The door is also in hand, because he let go a bit too slowly with his other, and the door simply came off the hinges in his hand like it was made of tissue paper, and then made a very loud clashing sound as it fell to the ground. He stares in disbelief briefly before apologizing through the now gaping door, and telling the proprietor to send the bill to his desk at the Department. Apologies come out like water. He practically flees after that. Shame. too much shame. Maybe you can stop him if you're fast.]
Investigation
[A bit later, he's finished talking with someone on a minor case, and is returning to his car, and idly kicks a rock. It's a small kick. The sort that flicks a rock two or three feet out of your path.
It flies almost a hundred feet and hits the window of a parked car, breaking it and setting off the alarm. He stares in disbelief, once again. Then slowly pinches the bridge of his nose. There is noise. People are staring. Many people. Staring as he very shamefully trots over to the car and leaves a not with his information on it.]
Recolle Police Department
[At the end of the day, you might find him at his desk in the Police Department.
Or what's left of the desk. The desk has been split firmly in half down the middle, and is on the floor, and Ichirou argues with maintenance. No he doesn't know how it happened. Maybe it was old. No, he didn't do anything weird, he wasn't kicking it or karate chopping it. The Maintenance worker just stares before going to fetch another desk from storage.
Ichirou slumps into his chair and holds his face in his hands.]
I'm so tired.

RPD
[Guess who's shouting from the second floor balcony, detective. It's none other than Officer Izunia smirking down at Matsuoka with a cup of coffee in one hand and files in another. Fynn seems to be back on duty after his brief two week vacation. He's looking better but his right arm is still bandaged up. The man at least looks well-rested.]
Lady Luck must be scorned.
[The officer snickers as he sips his coffee. That new espresso machine was the best damn thing he ever purchased. His colleagues appreciate it too.]
Re: RPD
I guess the desk was just past it's expiration date.
Would have collapsed if you breathed on it, probably.

[Fynn announces for all to hear as he descends down the stairs.]
You know that's totally going to be deducted from your pay, right? [He's kidding! The department probably will replace it with no fee.] I guess no more cheap ass furniture for us anymore.
[He parks himself before the remnants of the broken desk and smirks.]
Nice job.

I might be a big guy but I'm not THAT big.
[He sighs.]
Although I've been breaking shit all day, so maybe I did.

[Fynn Izunia, ladies and gents. One rude son of a bitch--]
What else happened?
no subject
Well.
My favorite coffee cup shattered in my hand at breakfast.
[He shows the bandage on his palm.]
Then I pulled the door off the place I stopped for lunch...then I kicked a rock and it flew pretty far and broke a window.
Honestly I'm starting to feel cursed.

RPD
That is a very interesting break, Detective Matsuoka.
Re: RPD
Everything I touch is breaking today.
I'm honestly a little afraid to go to the restroom.
Re: RPD
Everything? This isn't the first time this has happened?
[just... not going to comment on the restroom comment b/c the implications are horrifying enough]
Re: RPD
First was my coffee cup this morning. It just broke to pieces in my hand.
Then a door came off at lunch.. then I misjudged my own strength and kicked a rock so hard it broke a window. gonna love explaining that to insurance...
Not a great day.
Re: RPD
Well, that would explain the stress marks I can see on the desk. It's like there was a sudden, extremely strong impact, to the point the material couldn't absorb it even by flexing.
[he looks back up at Ichirou]
I think strength is the keyword here.
Re: RPD
[At this point it's what everyone's saying but he hates conceding that cause he'll feel like Retrospec rused him and he hates that.]
You'd think they'd send a text or something to warn you.

Investigation
I mean, it's kind of hard to miss the sound of shattered glass. But he's totally been there. Ish. ]
Too bad they're not selling monster insurance anymore, huh?
[ "A monster did it" is totally a legit claim, right? ]
Re: Investigation
Don't tempt him.]
Man, it'd be great to be able to blame this on monsters.
[He'd feel a lot less stupid. He doesn't even care about paying for it, but the shame of everyone knowing he did it is what gets him. He's dutifully and responsibly listing all his information.]
This is the second thing I'd have pinned on 'em today.
no subject
[ Hey, that's definitely way better than what most people would do. Kiryu can respect that. ]
Don't feel too bad. I didn't realize it when I got super strength, too. Had to replace a couple of doorknobs at home.

[He stares into space.
He didn't even consider that's how getting skills worked. That it just happened. He half expected to get some weird pop-up about it.]
...Oh.
...I didn't even consider it was something like that.
no subject
Yeah, sometimes they can come to you in a pinch, but other times... you wake up one day and you don't realize it until you're breaking your alarm clock.
no subject
[He rubs the bridge of his nose.]
So how do you like, confirm?
I feel like trying to lift something heavy is a really bad idea...

Lunchtime
But when Togusa spots the destruction at the store in front of him, it looks like lunch is going to have to wait. "Wha-?"
A double-take, and he is off after Ichirou quickly. "Matsuoka!" He'll keep his pace fast to get the both of them away from the scene of the crime (?) faster, but there is no way he's letting Ichirou just run off.
Re: Lunchtime
The shame is palpable, he really wanted to just park his car in some empty alley and eat in self-pity. But now he has to pretend to be a functioning human being when he just made a fool of himself.
"Togusa."
he sighs a little and stops. For a moment, a brief moment, he considers running.
Re: Lunchtime
"What the hell was that?" Because, thanks, Retrospec, there are actually a lot of possible ways a door could have come off its hinges at someone now.
Re: Lunchtime
"I didn't yank or anything... maybe it just wasn't kept up well?"
The idea that something had changed with him was... well. He thought Retrospec would have the courtesy to send a text or something, at least.
Re: Lunchtime
Togusa keeps up for a while longer, but the frown remains. He pitches his voice down a little bit. "Did the door just break, or did you break it? Difference in what might be going on here, depending on the answer."
Re: Lunchtime
"..That's kind of a hard thing to discern, y'know. I was holding it and it fell off." he had to pause and think. "...What are you suggesting, if I know I might be able to tell."
