[Closed to Haru]

[Sometime after talking with Haru in the post, Shiori makes sure they have all they need to test out if dancing fruit really did taste the same as regular. It might be silly, but this was something he was genuinely curious about. And Haru did make a good point that her mother might think they were a little less than sane if they did it at her place. Plus, this was a good reason for his best friend to come over and check out the place. He had everything set up, including things for his kitten all over, and it was exciting to finally have someone come over.

Now if only Haru were to show up soon...]

[Closed to Minako]

[After discussing possibly checking out kickboxing classes, Shiori wanted to meet up with his cousin. He hand't seen her since the monster fiasco and this was as good a time as any to see how she was doing. Besides, he loves his family even if he doesn't say it out loud.

So he waits at one of the entrances to the Garden Gate Farmer's Market and keeps an eyes out for Minako. They did agree to meet when the market opened.]

[OPEN]

[When not studying, Shiori is everywhere. Book stores, the library on the RU campus, the public library, anywhere there was books. There's of course other places, like any cafe that catches his eye.

Shiori might accidentally walk into you while reading a book. Or maybe he is deciding on what to get. Pretty much anywhere as long as he's legally allowed to be there.]

[Two people who tend to walk around a library with their heads in their books naturally leads to a collision. Shuji isn't paying nearly as much attention to his surroundings as he should be, and when Shiori rounds a corner.

Whump.]

Oww...

[Shuji, now on the floor with his book on medieval weaponry next to him, complains even though it was at least 50% his own fault.]

[Shiori lets out something between a squeak and a yelp, stumbling back into a wall with a soft thud. At least he's managed to keep his hands on a book, a guide on how to write romance scenes for beginning writers.

He peeks over his book to see who he's run into.]

S-Sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going!

[He'll close his books, tucking it under his arm and offering the young man a hand.]

[Shuji picks up his book before accepting Shiori's help to get up.]

It's okay, I've had worse.

-Oh, that's a pretty good series. They have one about fight scenes too, it's been useful for me.

[Shuji, a man who has never been in an actual fight that wasn't running away from monsters.]

R-Right.

[Shiori looks down at his own book and nods.] They had the one about fighting at the school I went to, but not this one. Guess they might have thought it wasn't appropriate at a boarding school.

Seriously? Do they not think students know about romance?

[Even if it's an explicit scene, he guarantees that every student there has seen filthier porn.]

["Soon" might be pushing it. Haru has no idea how she did it in the past, but when she tries to gather up the dancing fruit, they just dance out of her grasp and roll along the floor. It takes her some time to wash them off for the fifth time and actually get them secure on her moped, which mostly meant putting them in a basket and covering them up with a sturdy handtowel that the basket itself was sitting on.

Once she does arrive, Haru holds the moving basket close while she makes her way to Shiori's door. Having decided to use both hands to hold the towel down, Haru pauses at the door, then raises her foot to knock with that instead.]

[At least she makes it! Shiori goes to open the door when he hears the knock, giving Haru a smile.]

You're here! [He moves aside to let her in.] Kitchen is first door to the right.

I'm here!

[Haru makes her way in, but as is customary, and since Shiori is a close friend of hers, she leans in to give him a kiss on the cheek as she passes. Once she's inside, she does head for the kitchen, though slowly so that she can look at everything.]

It's very quaint. Did you pick a one bedroom?

[Haru, honestly, and her mother are the only people that could get away with a cheek kiss and not get a grumpy cat blond in return. He closes the door once she's in and follows her.]

Yeah. I didn't want another roommate since I had one all through school. It's nice not being woken up by a snoring roommate... among other things.

[Rooming with another guy could be awkward at times.]

[Let's just not consider what those "other things" might be.]

And you can do what you want, right? Not having to dress up because you have a roommate around, listening to your music without headphones... It sounds luxurious! [Her still living with her mom and all, she could never play her own music out loud with her mom around. Not with the kind of music she listens to.]

[Hikari catches Shiori in a café. It's a bit more close to closing hours, and he was planning on grabbing a cup of coffee when he notices his cousin. Tilting his head, he walks over to Shiori the moment his coffee is in hand and gently taps his shoulder.]

Hey there.

[missingache]

[Shiori starts a bit, having been rather absorbed in what he was doing. He blinks and looks at Hikari with a slight confused expression till he remembers he's in a cafe, not his place.]

Hikari! What are you doing here?

[brokenlight]

Grabbing a cup of coffee.

[He lifts the coffee in question.]

What about you?

[He glances at the books on the chair beside him.]

I was getting things for class... and some books that just got released.

[It's not a light bag.]

[brokenlight]

[Following his gaze, Hikari notices the bag.

He stares.]

....That's a lot of books.

[complementing]

[Mornings are hard, but Minako is here right when the market opens, smothering a yawn into her palm before spotting him as she walks to the gate.

She hasn't figured out if she can hug him during greetings yet, but that's not going to stop her from hugging him anyways, so here we go.]

Good morning, Shio.

[missingache]

[The hug is a little much, but since she's family, he doesn't push her away like he would a strange. Shiori awkwardly hugs her back with a small smile.]

Good morning, Micchan. Did you get any sleep?

[complementing]

[She pulls away and laughs, even as it trails off into another yawn.]

Some. Enough? I didn't stay up too late last night, at the very least.

[missingache]

[Minako, why. You need more sleep.]

Were you doing homework?

[complementing]

[Sleep is for the weak. And nightmares are for emerging protags who have gone through A Lot of Shit but she's not going to say that.]

Yeah, and some meal prep stuff for the weak. [She stretches.] I'll wake up soon enough, don't worry! Where are we headed to first?

[Sakura has already decided she won't be attending school until the winter, which means she has no reason to be on campus.

But a bookstore? She's all over that the moment she's escaped work for the day, plucking out a stack of books from the fantasy/supernatural section. Perfect chance to brush up on her English reading, and she turns on her heel to sort through her prizes --

Only to nearly collide with Shiori, though in a surprising moment of dexterity, the girl side-steps and prevents a messy collision. There's a sigh a relief in her voice when she speaks]

Hey, um... please be careful. I nearly ran into you...

[Sorry, Sakura, he won't notice you're there till you speak up. Shiori blinks and looks over his book, a little stunned to say the least.

He quickly jams a bookmark into the pages and there's a slight panic to his expression.]

S-Sorry! I get a little distracted when reading.

It's okay.

[She gets it, honest. While not prone to reading and walking at the same time, Sakura understands the dangers of distraction, and gives a simple smile as a result, shifting the books in her arms]

All that means is you found a good book, right?

[missingache]

[!!! A fellow book lover? From the looks of it at least.]

Yeah! [Shiori glances down at the cover.] Parts of it at least. There's some socio-political commentary I could do without.

Oh? What kind of book is it?

[Glancing at his cover as well, to see if she recognizes the cover. Probably not - Sakura enjoys a good book, but she is definitely a niche reader with very specific interests]
