TEAM YZMA LOG
READY: START Team Yzma roster: Carmen Sandiego, Dave Strider, Elizabeth, Emil Vasterstrom, Juzo Sakakura, Lucy/Kaede, Penelo, Seto Kaiba, Shouto Todoroki, Souji Seta, Yato. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of thunder... This is the Team Yzma Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Yzma is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Objective 1 part twoObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
WEEK 1 | FILES/FOLDERS | YATO + ELIZABETH
Yato sets his katana against the wall and bends to check each folder. ]
no subject
But these files are just like here and waiting to be opened. To be explored. To have their secrets exposed to the world!!! Or perhaps just to them in this room. She's still not great about this whole thing, but this gives her some good focus, and her small keyring monster has made sure to join them to like... cheer them on.
Moral support is better than no support?? Elizabeth'll start on another set of the folders, though she's doing very little other than skimming her fingers over them and favoring peeking over Yato's shoulder. ]
If this is a doctor's office, then these would be medical records, wouldn't they? [ ... ] I wonder if this would count as an invasion of privacy...
no subject
[ Yato is probably the actual last person in Recolle to feel bad about invasion of privacy, so Elizabeth is looking to the wrong guy for moral guidance. He pulls out the contents of a few folders to reveal that they all have similar contents. He'll hold them over his shoulder for Elizabeth to gather up so that he can go on emptying more folders. ]
They're all like this. No labels or written documents, just X-rays.
no subject
How boring. [ ....she was looking forward to the invasion of privacy ngl. ] There's quite a few different types of bones present... Biology wasn't my strong suit, but I'm certain not all of these are human?
[ ??? ]
no subject
[ He's mostly joking but also not, just a little. He has such hope in his heart. ]
no subject
Neither of those exist. Well... Aliens might, but I'm not certain they actually have bones? I've never seen them have any in any media.
no subject
There were dragons running around at the convention center. And aliens can have bones if they want to! By the way, did you see that thing on the beach?
no subject
The thing swallowing the ocean? It reminded me of a little of Charybdis, except Charybdis didn't... do that, exactly. She did it to sailors. [ Between Charybdis and Scylla, man. ] As far as mythology goes, at the very least.
[ She'll help him with fitting them together once she's done sorting them out... some of these piles are bigger than others? Like the human one. This human pile is decent. ]
no subject
Haven't heard of that one. But maybe it really was her!
[ He's just eager for members of the supernatural club to arrive so that fewer people will look at him weird when he says he's a god, honestly. He plays around with the smaller piles but quickly abandons them when it's clear they won't assemble into anything meaningful. Off to the human pile, then!! ]
no subject
WHICH SOUNDS SORT OF TERRIBLE OUT OF THE CONTEXT OF "THESE ARE HUMAN X-RAYS". ]
I only know of her from the epics I've been required to read in schools... She's a rather small character, to be honest. Hardly anything memorable. [ . . . ] I've read them many times though.
[ This is because she moved a fucklot, not because she necessarily liked them. Not that she didn't like them but you know? Not the point. ]
Regardless, I think we might be able to get a full skeleton out of this pile. [ Isn't that exciting—she's gonna clear some space, shove those smaller ones away, who care about proper handling. ] Shall we try?
no subject
[ He says, very aware of the fact that he's too obscure a god to even have a Wiki article. He's one of the little people... anyway! ]
Let's do it! I'll do this side and you can do that one.
[ He joins her in assembling the human pieces. Once he can figure out the right orientations, it's pretty easy. They should have it together in no time. ]
no subject
Once Yato and Elizabeth assemble the skeleton, they will easily see why this was important to do. Along the ribs of their x-ray friend, thanks to the way the light catches they will be able to see a set of numbers: 7855
On the right femur there's another set of numbers: 8575
And on the jaw yet another set: 5587
And finally on the wrist: 5857
One of these numbers is the right combination, but where's the locked object? They may need to convene with the others in the room for anything with a 4-number combo lock and test them out.]
no subject
But oh, numbers... Well, once Yato's brought those to the attention of the others, Elizabeth's just going to look at their other piles of x-rays and start... putting them back. Not in the right folders, she doesn't know where they came from, but anyway.
The human one can stay for now. She's busy studying it—maybe only one of these works for the briefcase, but maybe the other three variations'll come in handy at some point too? ]
Mr. Yato, do you think these x-rays belong to the skeleton over there, [ Dr. Trombone, she means, ] or to... someone else, I suppose?
no subject
These do look like they match. [ And they do, because Word of Mod. ] So what, the person who took these x-rays was shopping around for a perfect skeleton and this guy was the jackpot?
[ Like why would you keep the skeleton of one of your x-ray subjects?? ]
no subject
[ which is an infinitely better question than going down the rabbit hole of "are these x-rays of a person and if that's true, then why did they kill them/wait until the person was dead to exhume their skeleton" to be honest. ]
Perhaps our doctor is just a very... interesting individual. [ She means weird. She means weird, Yato, but she can't call people weird. Look at them. They're both cosplaying and talking about bones. ] Though, not the sort of individual I'm particularly looking forward to meeting.
On the other hand, [ and she lifts up a x-ray of a hand, HAHA GET IT oh god, ] we might be able to get answers from them if we do get to meet them. I have many questions I'd like to ask, honestly.
no subject
Yeah, sure. Questions like "which of your bones do we have to break to cause the most pain?" [ He lifts up an x-ray of a femur. There is no punchline. ]
Anyway, we were brought here with extreme prejudice. There has to be some Retrospec rep at the end of all this, or else what's the point?
no subject
[ Not something she's really enjoying, to be honest. Virtual reality would be good enough for her when it comes to this type of thing!! ]
I wonder if everyone else is dealing with something similar? A building full of escape rooms, with everyone in groups on every floor.
no subject
Sounds like the premise for a horror movie. [ Like that one... See, or whatever it was called. He jerks a thumb at Dr. Trombone. ] Can't escape the room? Turn out like that guy.
no subject
Also that's morbid, Yato, but she can't help but giggle a little anyway. ]
Do you think we'll magically receive doctorates when we die?
no subject
[ He's a god, he thinks he should be allowed to hand out doctorates like an unenthusiastic Oprah if he wants to.
... He's a little curious now though. People's opinions of the afterlife are much more relevant to him now that ghosts are his business. ]
You believe in Heaven or anything?
no subject
I think it'd be nice if there was something after death. I don't know if I believe necessarily, though I did pick up a haunted music box that supposedly plays its tune backwards at three in the morning exactly on the third Tuesday of the month...
But the thought of an afterlife is a lovely one. [ There's so many stories about it, too—she likes them all? And for centuries and centuries people have believed them, a lack of substantial evidence be damned. It's inspiring. ] What about you?
no subject
Once upon a time he believed in vague concepts like heaven and hell without paying much thought to the figures who would be presiding over those places. But now... ]
I think... that when you die, your spirit goes on to serve the gods.
[ That's his understanding so far, anyway. There are still so many details that elude him. ]
Makes sense, right? No point in life after death if you're just gonna spend it twiddling your thumbs.
no subject
And she... doesn't really believe in a god, or multiple gods, but it doesn't really seem the time to impart that fact. It's not really that relevant, anyway. ]
Some people might want a break when they die, depending on how their life went. [ Not to argue! Just... to make mention of that. ] Even that might get boring after a while, I suppose... I wonder if that's why ghosts are popularly depicted as haunting places and spooking people?
[ Though that still sort of feels like it falls under "twiddling your thumbs"? ]
no subject
[ And he'll leave it at that. He shoves the relevant x-rays together and stands. ]
Guess we should share these with everyone else.
no subject
[ and so they did. ]
