TEAM DAQUIRI LOG
After that strange Retrospec post, you may be wondering how to contact this "technician". Luckily, your phone or whatever device you have handy to check the network chooses that exact second to go haywire... Team Daquiri roster: Baren Kumou, Bucky Barnes, Futaba Sakura, Hitori Togusa, Iwatooshi, Izuku MIdoriya, John Steinbeck, Koutarou Takamura, Lalli Hotakainen, Mikleo, Yu Narukami. On whatever device you use to view the retrospec application, you may note the following scrolling on the screen instead of the usual options: ALERT: CRITICAL TIME-SPACE ANOMALY ACTIVE. SEARCHING FOR ADMIN... SEARCHING FOR ADMIN... DESIGNATED ADMIN CANDIDATE: EMPLOYEE #91962 M. MAHONEY PLEASE INPUT AUTHORIZATION CODE. The prompt does not seem to be for you, however, as the text prompts continue to scroll, this time with some input. > ********************** ACCEPT ADMIN STATUS Y/N? > y DESIGNATE PROGRAM TO RUN. PLEASE BE ADVISED WE ARE SYSTEM CRITICAL. > run subroutine designation echolocation-alpha CONFIRMED. EMPLOYEES ACTIVE IN AREA: 2 > list employees EMPLOYEES ACTIVE: M. FITZWILLIAM LEVEL 0 ACCESS, INTERN M. MAHONEY FULL SYSTEM ACCESS, ADMIN > search for alternative assets CONFIRMED. SENDING ALTERNATIVE ASSET LIST. Names scroll by on the screen. and look, there goes yours! It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up. > initialize support team CONFIRMED. TEAM DESIGNATION? > daquiri CONFIRMED. TEAM DAQUIRI MISSION PARAMETERS? PLEASE BE ADVISED SYSTEM ENERGY LEVELS ARE CRITICALLY LOW. > make contact with sysadmin > contact point entrance 1 > temporary access level 1 granted CONFIRMED. MISSION PARAMETERS SET. TEMPORARY ACCESS LEVEL 1 GRANTED. The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM DAQUIRI as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point. Team Daquiri's access point is in the Retrospec Basement. Team members will find they can access the Retrospec building and utilize the elevator to reach the Basement level so long as they approach it in a group of two or more team members. Only Team Daquiri team members can enter the Retrospec building at all at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they enter the door! This is the Team Daquiri Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Daquiri is as follows: WEEK 1: Objective 1; CLEAR: Maurice; Miss GracieObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. NPC interactions will be rnged from your team roster once per week, and toplevels for those will also be posted, although all team members can hear/see these interactions! |
Shrine: Team BFFs (Koutarou and Togusa)
But, the longer they're down here, the more competent Togusa seems to be getting, the more familiar with the equipment. Almost like he's remembering training that he had forgotten about.
As they approach the shrine, he chuckles through the radio. "Okay. Not what I was expecting."
no subject
His eyes goes wide at the sight of the shrine, and he is, for a lack of a better word, amazed. "Yeah, definitely not." Oh. He wants to draw. Ah, if only there had been time for that...!
no subject
He takes the lead, swimming up the 'steps.' And then he looks down at what he is doing, and his voice is dubious. "Why are there stairs? In an underwater castle? Did this place used to be above water?" Now that would be interesting, a sunken shrine. Still, the relative uselessness of the stairs is amusing here.
Togusa stops and paddles in place when they get inside. "Whoa." His head moves all over the place to try to look around at the architecture, stone and marble. "It's- not a ruin," he comments. His gaze is everywhere, trying to pick up every detail.
no subject
He swims after Togusa, unable to stop looking at everything, and he really has to restrain himself from swimming off in a random direction to explore things further, or to look at the details on some of the things. Damn time limits and dangerous situations, they're a bother sometimes. "Yeah it looks quite well-maintained."
no subject
There is an obvious point that they are being drawn to, a raised dais with a stone tablet in the middle. Not exactly an altar. Togusa's curiosity sends him up (another staircase!) to where it rests.
"Oh, hello." Togusa floats in place as he drifts and stares at the words on the tablet. "We are together apart. ..?" He lets out a curious wordless noise. "Some kind of motto? Or a riddle?" Oh, no, he can only hope it's not a riddle based on English wordplay.
no subject
Still marveling over the place and all the details he's able to see, he slowly follows Togusa to the dias, eventually, and peers at the words.
"Maybe it's one of those things that means that as long as we think of each other we're not really apart." Like those things people talk about when somebody dies, or somebody has to go far away for a long period of time.
no subject
Although he isn't standing on the tablet, Koutarou's idea makes Togusa float away from over the top of it, to make absolutely sure. "A memorial? That's what I would have expected in a shrine." Burial, of an ancestor? Perhaps it's silly, but Togusa closes his eyes and nods his head for a moment.
"Maybe we'll find out more if we keep looking?" he suggests, suddenly less eager to keep on this area.
no subject
"It wouldn't be unusual, at least. Considering we have seen much odder things in strange places lately." Monsters and robots, for example. That's weird, this is just amazing and interesting.
"Maybe! It's worth a look!" Right, that's why he wants to keep looking around, sure.
no subject
The room is very plain and square, with a small raised platform in the middle. "Hunh?" He swims around and looks on the walls, as if there would be a hint hidden somewhere. A lot fewer details in this room than the last one. It's got to be the platform. Togusa floats over, and it takes a few tries for him to get a solid foot on it.
"Whoa. Check this out." The platform shifted under him, but he could feel it more than see it.
no subject
It's a nice room too, and it's going to give inspiration as well. He's still at a wall looking at the details, but he turns around to see where Togusa went when he disappears out of the corner of his eye, and sees him looking around at the platform.
"It lowered, didn't it?" He's got a better point of view to actually see it move.
no subject
He looks around and around but there is not much in this room to change. "But it feels like a button," Togusa insists.
"What about in the first room?" He will try to stay and press it a few more times if Koutarou goes and looks (but nothing is still moving).
no subject
"I'll go have a look." But yeah, nothing is happening. "No changes here. Should I have a look in the opposite room connected to this one?" The first one that he's still in, he means.
no subject
"I think we're thinking the same thing," Togusa is smiling. "Any bets on what you'll find?"
no subject
"Are we?" He chuckles into the radio. "It wouldn't be surprising to find a similar room there."
But he didn't expect it to be a mirror image of it. "Oh. There is another platform in here."
no subject
But in the meantime... "So, how sure are we that Retrospec doesn't actually know what was in here? Because this is set up almost like another one of their games."
"I keep messaging Yoon-sung, of all people, every time Retrospec pulls something, he's a video game designer. And he keeps being very right."
no subject
"We don't know if they do or not at all, do we?" Either would be possible.
"It's like he has some special way of figuring things out, is it?" If he's right that often.
no subject
Togusa takes a quick look as he swims through the main room. "Still no change in here." But he looks up at the other exit to the room.
"Yoon-sung. It's like." How to put this? "Me and Fynn Izunia and Noah Gabranth. You couldn't find three more different people. But we tend to come to the same conclusions because we had the same training. It kind of feels like that with Yoon-sung."
no subject
"Like he had the same training without having the same training...?"
no subject
"Yeah," Togusa agrees with what Koutatou is saying. "Maybe it's just that somebody on their staff," somebody named Jim, "is messing with us and likes games. The Bingo, the puzzles they kept putting in their offices? And Yoon-sung is really good at beating games."
no subject
Oh Jim. Yes. He can be a bother. "It's convenient to have someone who is good at it, then."
no subject
They swim ahead, and the whole area is symmetrical, because both side rooms would have led them to here. Togusa pulls up short to look around again with another quiet sound of wonder. "Wow." He heads towards the obvious key, this has got to be what James was pointing out on the map.
no subject
"This place really is amazing...." Much more amazing than he would have thought. Last weeks trouble doesn't matter at all right now. He lets Togusa look over the key, he's too caught up in looking around again.
no subject
Koutarou gets to jump to the head of the line that is slowly forming with half the 16-25 year-olds in the city.Togusa carefully picks up the key, and he looks around them after he does so, as if expecting it to set something else off. "Hunh. Nothing. Maybe this isn't so much of a game like we thought."
Well, since it's not dangerous, then Togusa and Koutarou are going to indulge their curiosity in looking around, but they'll eventually get back to the others. Eventually.
no subject
Oh yes, that is great, they should definitely use this opportunity to the fullest!
