TEAM DAQUIRI LOG
After that strange Retrospec post, you may be wondering how to contact this "technician". Luckily, your phone or whatever device you have handy to check the network chooses that exact second to go haywire... Team Daquiri roster: Baren Kumou, Bucky Barnes, Futaba Sakura, Hitori Togusa, Iwatooshi, Izuku MIdoriya, John Steinbeck, Koutarou Takamura, Lalli Hotakainen, Mikleo, Yu Narukami. On whatever device you use to view the retrospec application, you may note the following scrolling on the screen instead of the usual options: ALERT: CRITICAL TIME-SPACE ANOMALY ACTIVE. SEARCHING FOR ADMIN... SEARCHING FOR ADMIN... DESIGNATED ADMIN CANDIDATE: EMPLOYEE #91962 M. MAHONEY PLEASE INPUT AUTHORIZATION CODE. The prompt does not seem to be for you, however, as the text prompts continue to scroll, this time with some input. > ********************** ACCEPT ADMIN STATUS Y/N? > y DESIGNATE PROGRAM TO RUN. PLEASE BE ADVISED WE ARE SYSTEM CRITICAL. > run subroutine designation echolocation-alpha CONFIRMED. EMPLOYEES ACTIVE IN AREA: 2 > list employees EMPLOYEES ACTIVE: M. FITZWILLIAM LEVEL 0 ACCESS, INTERN M. MAHONEY FULL SYSTEM ACCESS, ADMIN > search for alternative assets CONFIRMED. SENDING ALTERNATIVE ASSET LIST. Names scroll by on the screen. and look, there goes yours! It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up. > initialize support team CONFIRMED. TEAM DESIGNATION? > daquiri CONFIRMED. TEAM DAQUIRI MISSION PARAMETERS? PLEASE BE ADVISED SYSTEM ENERGY LEVELS ARE CRITICALLY LOW. > make contact with sysadmin > contact point entrance 1 > temporary access level 1 granted CONFIRMED. MISSION PARAMETERS SET. TEMPORARY ACCESS LEVEL 1 GRANTED. The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM DAQUIRI as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point. Team Daquiri's access point is in the Retrospec Basement. Team members will find they can access the Retrospec building and utilize the elevator to reach the Basement level so long as they approach it in a group of two or more team members. Only Team Daquiri team members can enter the Retrospec building at all at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they enter the door! This is the Team Daquiri Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Daquiri is as follows: WEEK 1: Objective 1; CLEAR: Maurice; Miss GracieObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. NPC interactions will be rnged from your team roster once per week, and toplevels for those will also be posted, although all team members can hear/see these interactions! |
MIKLEO, JOHN, AND TOGUSA (ROOM 18)
Door number 18 appears to be a security room with a giant robot in the middle of it. There are certainly a lot of monitors that might have some interesting stuff to play with, but the problem is that the power's off. On further inspection of the mini-boss fight waiting to happen, they note that there's something clenched in its hand.
Rather than touching it, Mikleo decides that it might be prudent to bring someone else in, just in case. He highly doubts he'll be able to handle this thing on his own. Fortunately, Togusa is free, so now all three of them get to bond over this traumatic experience!
Mikleo crosses his arms and looks up at the thing once the new trio has assembled. He already feels dead inside.]
Soooo...who wants to touch it?

[ ... and even with the power apparently off, he's not hopeful enough to trick himself into thinking it's not battery-powered or some other weird tech voodoo ]
Haha, reckon I'll pass.
[ anyone, anyone ]

Togusa hesitantly raises a hand towards Mikleo and John, "Wait. Be ready, but let me try something, first."
He tries to reach out telepathically, to see if there is a mind there to even be able to be contacted. The other two would still hear him 'speak' without moving his mouth.
"Hello?"

It was worth a shot.
[Avoiding a fight would be ideal. It just looks like they don't really have much choice. He tilts his head at Togusa.]
I can get away pretty fast, but I'll leave it up to you, Officer.
[Mikleo knows how this goes.]

less so at the attempting communication with the robot; more so at the voice in his head. sorry, that's new! it's hard to have thought control, particularly when one's actively thinking on it now.
but, moving on from that, and keeping just within earshot despite his wary distance— there's a nod of encouraging agreement. ]
'S all you.
no subject
Togusa puts up a telekinetic shield in front of himself as he approaches, making himself the obvious target. It's going to move. That's a given. But he's still not ready for it. He takes a long breath out as he reaches out towards the robot's hand, touching if it doesn't move before he gets there.
no subject
whatever was in its hand retracts back into the challis, and its gauntlets begin to charge with lightning as it advances. ]
no subject
God, Mikleo wishes he had an actual staff to use.
Screw it, he rushes forward with a green aura surrounding him and slides on one leg like a baseball player, aiming for one of the robot's legs. Maybe he can trip it or something before it unleashes whatever death electricity beam it's charging up??]
no subject
[ it'd hit john a while ago how incredibly freaking useless he is in these situations; now it's a "life or death" kind of useless. one thing's made certain: he wants nowhere near that potential lightning. thus, pitchfork held low at his side, he's going to attempt to run out of that line of sight, and hopefully end up somewhere behind the robot... ]
[ and look for something to throw that doesn't conduct electricity— literally anything to pose a distraction ]
[ please send out some sort of signal that you're alive, officer ]
no subject
Should have. But didn't.
He flies back, and barely gets a field behind him to break his fall against the wall. He lets out a loud grunt of pain, before he hits the floor. He slowly drags himself back up to his feet, and eyes the robot more tactically this time. One arm wraps around his ribs.
Power flares through him, but you need to do this without destroying anything else, Togusa. Anything that he would really like to use as a projectile to go through through this thing's head might turn out to be useful evidence. So he turns on the robot, itself. He focuses on the robot's right arm, and tries to pull on it, gradually increasing power to see if he can hold it still...or rip it off.
no subject
while togusa's power is doing something, it doesn't seem to be doing much; it loosens up the limbs and extends them, like the robot is reacting to the power and adapting. ]
no subject
Mikleo's going to try scrambling out of the way, using his aura to form a plant exoskeleton. Probably not going to do a whole lot in the way of protection, but it's better than being totally naked?]
Ergh, if I had a staff or something...!
[He's not meant for hand-to-hand combat.]
no subject
Catch!
[ he's going to toss the pitchfork mikleo's way— wooden handle first, thankfully. he hopes he knows mikleo to be careful with them pointy, metal ends. ... or completely reckless, whatever floats that boat. ]
[ any chairs remain unthrown for the moment ]
no subject
He's only going to get one shot at this, if it keeps adapting, so Togusa actually gets in closer. He's ready to throw up a shield for Mikleo or John as soon as it looks like they're going to need it.
no subject
if togusa throws up another shield it will use it to slam the shield into mikleo, so. pick your poison, kid. ]
no subject
The hell is this, Beat Up Mikleo Day???
At any rate, he'll attempt to get out of the thing's way so that he can get a decent opportunity to attack it with a pitchfork, unless there's a shield bash incoming. Then we'll find out if Mikleos can fly!
Spoiler alert, Mikleos cannot fly.]
no subject
okay, so, the pitchfork hitting mikleo like that wasn't ideal. woops. it turns out he has to pretty much throw things in quick succession if he wishes to aid in some distraction— reacting fast, a chair gets hoisted upward and lobbed the robot's way. it's not a light toss; he hopes that it actually does something. ]
no subject
The bad news for Togusa is that it's because he is very suddenly remembering a vision of himself in a hand to hand fight against something very similar to this thing. Whatever he was planning to do just got driven out of his mind, so it leaves him frozen out in the open for a few critical seconds.
no subject
the chair does hit the back of the robot's head when that happens.
the head then spins around to look at john, and the robot begins to turn, so like, oops. ]
no subject
Well, with the robot distracted by John, Mikleo will take this opportunity to run and jab the pitchfork through any wires he sees. If there aren't any, he'll just aim the tongs to try and go through the damn thing's neck.]
no subject
and he's about to angrily think what the hell are you doing, togusa— when. there's another blast of electricity, and that's cut short. he's trying his best in trying to get of the robot's sight; it's just that its turning tends to happen quicker.
in his haste, he definitely stumbles over a wayward chair, too. frick. time to pick up that one and hopeless chuck it, too. ]
no subject
Even Togusa's thoughts are shaky. Terminals. Get by what it's supposed to protect. Might not attack them.
no subject
the prongs break off. ]
no subject
Mikleo moves backwards to try staying out of its range.]
Okay, I'm out of ideas! Anyone else see something I'm missing?
