[ Souji might have played the trumpet in the music club but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a decent singing voice. This ballad bingo square is in the bag and singing to a stranger is no trouble at all. Not when Souji just finds a random open window and decides to sing the ballad right outside. He's totally nailing this bingo thing. ]

[ Yeah, he's just going to start right in the middle of that song because this is clearly the best part. ]

[Penelope Raban is...not really the sort of person that's used to random teenagers suddenly bursting into song nearby her but when it actually happens she stops in her tracks and gapes. She'd been halfway through writing a text to Freya when...]

No way. Seriously?

[Immediately she flips on her phone into streaming video mode and grins down at it. Whispering...]

Some guy's just started singing at me...

[ The phone does not faze Souji at all. In fact, he keeps on singing and even waves up at her. He's almost done his song but at least wave back, Pen! ]

[She will do just that...]

Oh man, this kid's great!

[Walking over towards the window, she sets her phone on the sill and grins at him.]

Could use a few pointers on singing, but...definitely has potential.

[ By this point, Souji has finished singing and just looks up at her. ]

Oh not much, you're just not using your diaphragm.  Here, let me show you.

[Hand to her chest, she begins to sing, her voice a well-trained contralto.]

[ As Penelope starts singing, Souji pulls out his own phone to record her as well. ]

[She'd been amused, at first, by the sounds of random caroling over the phone, but then Pen started singing. And... singing something like that, to boot. She's not just counter-caroling; Pen's too clever for coincidences.]

[Freya doesn't consider herself a romantic, but the impromptu performance leaves more of a bubbly warmth in her chest than she'd like to admit.]

[And Pen's voice is great, to boot.]

[ Souji absolutely keeps on filming her, trying to stay quiet so he can fully capture how wonderful she sounds. He will have to add in though one comment: ]

You should give singing lessons.

Maybe I should. Mom always said I'd be a natural performer. Dancing, singing...whatever.

[ Souji would clap if his hands were free so instead, he just cheers for her and then puts away the phone back into his pocket. ]

If you start, I'd definitely take lessons from you. I have to work on using my diaphragm, after all.

There are probably actual lessons you can take, dude.

[Grinning down at her phone, she keeps the video on. Just so Freya can get the show.]
