[Let's start off in; Recollé woods (morning)]

[She figures if she was going to take Souji anywhere, it may as well be the forest near Apprassage. It isn't far from where she lives, and while she doesn't think there's anything wrong with a stroll through the city, somehow it just feels as if an animal would be more comfortable walking through nature? So that's about it for her decision making here.

And for a little while, things are going alright. She tries to avoid other people and animals the best she can, if only because Souji's a real bastard. She likes starting fights and chasing things.

Which, unfortunately, means that when she happens upon another animal (be it something random, like some wild rabbit, or perhaps someone else's pet like another dog) Souji suddenly gets a lot more enthusiastic about what was once a walk and starts trying to drag Nobu forward which, to the girl's credit, is harder than you'd think it'd be considering her small frame. She grabs a hold of the lead she's on and pulls.]

Easy...!! I told you to knock it off, didn't I?

[She's actually got this under control, despite appearances. But you're free to a) see this happening or b) maybe keep your own dog away from this little shit and make your own judgment.]

[It's already too far when we're in; Hollingberry Field (afternoon]

[She never expected to end up anywhere else. She figured a walk around the forest might have been fine, but Souji's dragged her all the way to Viea Village and she's glad she decided to go out early in the morning, because this is going to be one hell of a trip back. They'd been walking around the park for a while, but right now Nobu's sat on a bench with Souji at her feet, already looking tired.]

I haven't walked this much in one go...ever. You're seriously the worst, you know that?

[Souji just yawns, honestly.

But once she's calmed down a bit she figures maybe something to eat is a good idea. She hadn't packed anything for herself because this walk ended up being a lot longer than it was meant to be, but at the very least has some little liver treats for her dog. Right now she's sat on the ground against the bench, holding one in her hand in front of Souji, who is...actually waiting patiently, surprisingly.]

I feel like a week ago you would've just eaten my hand. [she barks in response because yes. yes she would have.] I guess you like me more than you let on.

[So she gets a treat, eventually some petting. She meant it when she told Jubei she'd do right by this dog.]

[she really wishes she could take her dog on a bus while they're cutting through; Tribunal terrace (dusk)]

We're just going straight home, alright? We aren't stopping by the graveyard so you can pee on the graves, or going to church so you can bite a priest. We're just going straight through and right back to Apprassage.

[At this point she seriously is crouched on the sidewalk lecturing this small dog until it seems like she's gotten through to her. With that, Nobu stands again and begins walking with Souji following suit, but even the dog is getting tired now. It regrets its choices...

But they're almost home at this point, which is a good thing too. It's almost dark.]

I can't believe my whole Saturday is almost gone...

[ A fluffy toasted marshmallow... The urge to run up to the dog and smoosh her cheeks is very strong, but Ryoji's been snapped at by enough dogs in his life to learn to ask permission before petting somebody's dog, so he makes sure to keep his hands lightly clasped behind his back when he saunters down the jogging path to approach Nobu. ]

What a cute dog! She takes after her owner~

[ Since he slept in his apartment for once last night, Koutarou decided to go for a jog in the forest. Of course, as he brought his sketchbook, he ended up getting sidetracked and off the path.

It's when he later emerges back to the path with a few small twigs stuck in his hair and dirt on his knees that he sees a squirrel run past and use him (including his face) as some sort of spring board to get more quickly up into a tree, and he hears the voice of a girl and the sound of a dog.

He was a little startled by the whole situation and initially only links in surprise, watching her and the dog. Then he snaps out of it. ]

Are things going alright with you two?

[notbunaga]

[Ryoji no.......mostly because since her job attracts nothing but socially awkward gamer dudes, she's no stranger to hearing things like that, nor does she have good association with it.

So.]

She does. You have a keen eye. [She pauses petting Souji, looking up to him.] She bites strangers if they try too hard with her.

[notbunaga]

[She's surprised to hear someone else's voice all of a sudden, but it doesn't actually startle her. She just keeps a hold of the lead and turns to Koutarou instead, as Souji continues eying that squirrel from afar, as if she just suffered some great defeat she must remedy.]

Yeah, yeah, it's fine. She's just on a mission to destroy the world, I think.

[ Hopefully Koutarou isn't too much in the way if the dog tears away to hunt the squirrel.

Or maybe that should be, hopefully he's in the way to catch the dog if it tears away. ]

I haven't heard about dogs wanting to do that before, is that something she usually does?

Well...the breed is a little anti-social. And aggressive. And stubborn.

So I don't know if it's par for the course or I've found myself a real winner.

[She still loves her dog though.]

[ It's a fair warning, but either out of optimism or stupidity, Ryoji doesn't take it, instead lowering himself level with the dog and holding out a loose fist to sniff, in line with a doggy greeting. ]

Oh, well, I hope we get to become friends soon instead of strangers! Hi, my name's Ryoji~

[Guess which punk is cutting through part of the terrace on his way to Apprassage. THIS ONE. He's not really in a hurry, all things considered - (granted, there are very few Things He Should Probably Not Be Late For that he actually cares about being late for) - so naturally he stops once he catches sight of Nobu and her dog.]

Oh—! Hey, is that the famous biter?

[A much softer-looking dog than he'd been picturing... He's sure it's just as much of a hellion as she made it sound, though. He knows how animals can be!! Cute until they're peeing on your shoes and eating your nice earrings.]

[It is very obvious that after a moment of consideration, Souji is absolutely going to bite this guy. She is ready. She is leaning forward and her tiny pup jaws are opening.

Except Nobu puts a hand to her head and softly pushes down to cut her short, leaving the dog looking kind of dissatisfied...she wanted to bite him.]

As much as I'd like you to learn your lesson the hard way, I'm not risking any law suits. That or my dog being assassinated by the government for anti-social behaviour.

Hm? [She looks over and-] Oh, Kashuu.

[She can wait a bit if it's Kashuu, he's not bad company by any means. Souji looks dissatisfied though, trying to walk on ahead to no avail, thanks to that leads around her.]

Yeah, this is her. I wanted to take a walk around the forest this morning for her sake, but she dragged me all the way out to Hollingberry Field...

[And over he trots, catching up with a little wave toward her and a curious look at her dog.]

Wow... All the way out there? And in the morning? Aren't puppies supposed to be sleeping all the time or whatever? [Maybe that was just the one or two he knew... He's in awe over Souji's Intense Stamina™, either way.]

She still looks like she wants to go walking, too. That's kind of impressive.

It's a pain is what it is...I'm bringing her back home regardless, we've been out all day.

[Which is why she was Very Adamant about no more stops along the way.}

Where're you headed?

[ Aw... Ryoji looks equally disappointed, but he straightens up and shakes his head. ]

Assassination is a bit much! The government isn't going to put your dog to sleep for something like that. Maybe remedial lessons at a training class, or toy to chew on instead of strangers.

[She is very touchy on the subject of losing things, so. Dogs. People. Whatever.]

I think she just likes biting people, though. I got her a chew toy, but still...

If puppies are anything like kids, she'll probably pass out as soon as you get back to your place, at least.

[Hyperactive bundles of eternal energy generally seem to fizzle out the same way, from what he's seen.

At the question, he jabs a finger forward in the direction of the sprawling apartment complexes and housing areas ahead.]

I'm heading back home, too. Just finished my shift, but I think I have a morning class so I don't want to miss any beauty sleep.

[She didn't know that was a thing, but...she also never went to college, either.

Not that grades or anything held her back, things just got majorly off track.]

I've got work tomorrow too, though. It's why I hadn't intended on spending too much time outside all day.

[Usually you'd hear the opposite from people, but...well, still an (attempted) shut in over here. Gotten a little better about that ever since people kept trying to befriend her.]

Right? I mean, it's more like a workshop than a class, but still! What happened to sleeping in on Sundays? Isn't that practically a weekly holiday?

[Only this punk would complain about something that isn't even mandatory... Either way, he makes a little humming sound of sympathy at that. He also knows how much it sucks to run around all day before an early shift...]

Gooood luck. Does your puppy run around all night, too? I heard cats do that, but I dunno about dogs.

[ He'd be more reprimanding, if she weren't still just a puppy by the looks of it, so he shakes his head and laughs the rest of the lecture off. ]

I'm sure she'll learn. Dogs get to know each other by play fighting, after all, so she's probably just being playful and friendly.

[ He's very optimistic about your devil dog okay?! ]

[So it's the day after her ordeal in dealing with one overenthusiastic puppy and she's just finished up at work, but now she has to deal with a certain other overenthusiastic puppy who invited her over for dinner.

...not that she minds, mind you. It's just hard not to make the comparison, save for the fact Anya's a lot nicer than her dog...

Either way, Nobu makes a quick stop at home for a shower, grabs some things she wants to bring along to put in the bag she slips over her shoulder, then makes her way to Anya's place.

Now that she's here it's just a matter of ringing the doorbell and waiting for an answer.]

[Nobu has been through so much.

Which is honestly why she shouldn't be spending more time with another excitable nerd, but here we are. Anya's opening the door rather excitedly at the doorbell and offering a bright smile.]

You made it! Come in, come in... Make yourself at home, please!

[and come into the home that's definitely smelling rather delicious? ah, home cooking made from Anya's mother's recipes....

it's a nice home, full of decorations despite the fact that Anya never likes to go home immediately and her mother's never around. there are pictures everywhere as well as star maps, giving it a very used and homey feeling]

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but I don't think she's playing when she fights.

Ah, but don't get the wrong idea. I don't encourage her or anything; she just has to learn the proper respect for her owner, which she will. I won't be outdone by a dog.

No, she's usually pretty idle at home, actually. She only becomes a handful once we're outside...I read up about it before I got her. It's a specific trait of the breed.

[As they're walking Souji spots another dog across the street and is suddenly all about trying to cross and get at it, but Nobu just pulls back to dissuade her until eventually the dog stops and starts following after them again.

But it happens fairly casually, as if this has happened so much she's already used to it.]

So what's this workshop about?

[She steps in after Anya and takes a look around...

It definitely isn't something she's used to.

Here in Recolle, most of her friends don't live in a place so...homey. Between her dad's frequent absence and Yuuko usually being anywhere but home, her place just feels kind of empty every time Nobu is there, Yato's a worthless stray cat and...you know, she's never been to Mikorin's place, but they hang out more online than they do in person. And then there's Nobu's memories of "home" which were never positive to begin with...

In fact, the pause she takes to take it all in is very noticeable, but she eventually realises why she's here and snaps herself out of it, going on ahead to catch up.]

It's a nice place. [uh...right.] Thanks for having me.

From the peculiarities recently, one can debate if it's a good decision of her or not.

Hm? I know things were weird recently, but I wouldn't let her hurt the Chocobos.

Not that she disagrees though. Things certainly are getting strange, but if she doesn't try to approach it casually she'll worry too much about how much worse things could get and worry herself sick.]
