[closed] down around the corner, half a mile from here

WHO: Dante, Prompto, Malik, Leo, Arlene, Pen, Aria, Ari, and Aloy
WHERE: Subway tunnels
WHEN: Wednesday, 6/21, from 9PM on
WHAT: Following up on May's tunnels exploration!
WARNINGS: None

i. where pistons keep on churnin'
[They've made the decision ahead of time that it would be best to split up to get into the tunnels--somehow they've wound up with a larger group than any of them might have been originally counting on, and trying to smuggle nine people into any one subway entrance would be a fool's errand. But whether they're entering from Apprassage or Enprise or one of the other open subway entrances around the city, each member of their expedition has been given a walkie-talkie by Dante, tuned to a specific frequency. They don't know how much they can count on phone service once they get below ground, and one thing everyone seems to agree on is that letting Retrospec keep tabs on them via network communication is even dumber than risking them tuning into the same frequency.

Just before 9:00, Dante clicks his walkie on.]

All right, is everyone here?

Remember, the tunnels are back to being guarded now that we're all normal-sized again. Keep your walkies off until you're past all of it, keep quiet, and don't get caught on your way in. The binary's in the tunnel going from Enprise toward Apprassage; we'll all meet up there.

Let's go.

[Getting into the tunnels won't be too difficult when all is said and done, and the wanderers won't have much trouble making their way to the binary tunnel. In contrast to last month, the lights seem to be brighter, the binary more easily visible on the walls. It should be pretty easy at a glance to see!]

ii. and the wheels go 'round and 'round (group a)
[Once everyone's met up, it's time to split back up again. The two groups have been decided beforehand, and Dante, Prompto, Leo, Ari, and Aloy will all stay behind to investigate the binary code on the walls and the tunnels around the area. Prompto's main job is to take photos of the binary, while the rest of them have free rein to explore as they please--just don't go too far, and don't wander off alone! The buddy system; it's a great way to make sure all of them make it safely out of the tunnels later on.

Unfortunately a lot of the side tunnels are impassible, many of them caved in, and all of the subway maps that one might expect to find in the stations or on the platforms have been destroyed by something or another, pages ripped and large gouges in the maps' wooden backings. What could have been responsible? It's probably nothing they need to worry about...]

iii. and the steel rails are cold and hard (group b)
[While the first group is photographing the binary, Malik, Pen, Arlene, and Aria have the rest of the tunnels to explore. Similarly to the area around the binary, many of the offshoot tunnels appear to be caved in or inaccessible for one reason or another, and there's not too much to be found. A couple of the ticket terminals still seem to function if given the right incentive to work and enough juice to do so, but even those only last so long before plunging the group back into the relative darkness of the tunnels (hope you all remembered your flashlights!).

Even when they do find a tunnel that seems promising, those subway tunnels can be very dark. Very dark and foreboding and you know, are you really sure that you want to keep going? Think again. Longer than that. Really, this can't be a good idea...]

iv. for the miles they go down (all together now)
[Once the binary group has finished up with their photos, Dante's calling the others over the walkie-talkies.]

We're done here. Where are you?

[Wherever they are, the two groups can meet back up and spend the rest of their time in the tunnels exploring. Unfortunately it doesn't seem as though they'll be able to find anything new (at least not until those photos are developed), but there's nothing wrong with more people having a grasp on what the tunnels are like, right?

Just make sure to get home before sunrise. There are a few explorers who might be missed if they aren't home soon enough!]
