[ What a sight this must be from the sky, Thanatos turning and writhing in the air as the coffins behind him get pulled this way and that. It would have been a good plan, if the coffins were used for flight. It's quickly apparent that they are not, simply accessories much like the heavy robes that flap in the wind and catch the sea spray as Thanatos gives up the air and chooses the sea, plunging straight down into the water right next to the pilings of the pier.
