[Rachel wasn't exactly used to big fancy parties. But she was here on the suggestion of other people, including her friends and her mother. It was something of another big step for her, but she was happy to come, especially considering it was for a good cause. She showed up in her outfit from Founder's Day: a white blouse, a blue skirt worn over black slacks, and a red scarf.
A fancy restaurant wasn't exactly the same as a fancy venue, but going to one had prepared Rachel somewhat in terms of what to expect. Nevertheless, she couldn't help but feel a little bit awestruck. The pet-themed decorations didn't seem to diminish that or seem tacky; Rachel thought they were cute.
But what gets Rachel in the end is the animals - in particularly the cats. At one point in the night, you can find her in the adjacent room, staring at them from afar, an adoring look in her eyes... and an allergy mask covering her face. Other times, she could be found back in the main area, enjoying the refreshments, or wistfully staring at the dance floor.]

[By the end of the evening, Rachel is more than a little bit exhausted. Somehow she's managed to avoid having an allergic reaction, which is in no small part due to some preparation and being careful that evening. She actually got to interact with some pets in the end, albeit in a limited capacity.
She smiles as she heads for the exit, wearing the cat necklace from the goodie bag. She looks at it admiringly, before she turns to the nearest person and offers a question in an attempt at socialization.]
