She spun in place, physical arms clamped tightly around the supplies she was holding, and the air distorted around her shoulders. Vectors appeared, as many as she could manage, thrumming discordantly. When the shadowy hands were in range--which was unnervingly quickly--the vectors snatched at them by the wrists, holding them fast.
It was hard, though. They seemed slippery, like trying to grasp water. The shadows didn't like it, thrashing and flickering angrily to get free. And that was just the ones in front--Lucy couldn't take her eyes off of them long enough to look back.]
