[This time, Lucy tried to look at the magically appearing fire crackling at the sticks like it had always been that way and where it came from, accomplishing both poorly. By the time she'd given up on that, the fire was crackling away, the white(?) wolf was laying down to rest like an ordinary (if dignified) dog, and her torch was a bit superfluous.
Lucy made a small perplexed noise, then sighed. She sat down too, near the wolf; even though the fire was warming things up, the wolf's presence was still comforting.]

Lucy had drawn a copy of the phone's map on paper; she didn't trust the battery not to die unexpectedly in the cold. They had taken the first path, but it seemed to have ended at the cave. That left the east or the west. Lucy doubted they'd be able to get to both.]
