[IV-A.]

[Arthur had expected the region to be cold; he hadn't expected all of...this, though.

For a good long while he can be found near the lake, looking into it as though he's eventually going to find answers for why it's no longer capable of supporting life all of a sudden; his hair is silver now instead of the deep auburn, and while he's dressed warmly he's also got what looks like a hand-carved pendant on a cord around his neck. This place is frigid, but the lake and the fracturing, graying sky, the cold isn't troubling him as much as it should. The wolves howling in the distance are also a concern, but he knows what he's been told regards to them – they're intelligent, if you help them they'll help you. Something of a worry, but not as much as they could be.

...He'll be out here for a little while before he moves into Magatus proper; he'll get himself together eventually, it's just going to take a moment to get used to.]

[IV-B.]

[Arthur isn't a combatant; he's made it clear from the start that he's nothing of the sort, that he has nothing special to offer anyone outside of a willingness to listen and to talk if it's needed, and so when he arrives in Magatus proper he can't really say that he expects to accomplish much.

Surprisingly enough, however, he's not a total disaster.

This is definitely testing his patience, don't get him wrong; he doesn't appreciate the absolute brick wall of obstinacy that he's facing, but the fact of the matter is that he's willing to just stand there and ask questions and posit things like an absolute goddamn tool without concern for how intrusive he's being, and after a while results do seem to come, though not in spades.

After a while, though, you may find yourself flagged down by Arthur, seeming moderately relieved to see someone because goddamn, this is a trial. He's got one of the residents of Magatus with him, a woman looking...skeptical but at the very least not belligerent.]

...She's willing to evacuate, but she has personal belongings that she doesn't want to abandon. Come with me so we can get them.
