So here they are again, in some horrible reality discussing the very nature of the Retrospec project. This time, Malik is only half-paying attention, more distracted by the images on the walls. He's more inclined to direct his attention to Togusa's than his own; he's already lived it, and doesn't want to see it again.

He turns back around to see this whole... collar thing. Now, Malik isn't a very technically-inclined person. He's much more eyes-and-hands on: If he can see it, and physically interact with it, he has a better understanding of how it works and what it does. Technology - like the internet, binary, and even memes - are more abstract than he likes. Which is how he ends up blurting out this little phrase: "Can't you just delete my soul code or whatever and start over?"

Man, wouldn't that be nice.
