It was a common occurrence to find Gladio out running with his dog, Rufus. Even more common, was the chance for someone to either catch him before, during, or after his daily hospital visits. Sure, as a cop, he was well-aware that having a very predictable pattern could be dangerous, but then... his pattern was only as predictable as his daily life itself. Some days, he went to the hospital before work. Some days, he went after. Some days, he used his lunch break. As for his off days, there was honestly no telling when he'd make it -- just that he would. Because he always went. It was the promise he'd made her (Acacia Amicia, his mother) on the very first day he went to visit... and it was a promise he'd move heaven and earth to keep, so long as he kept some form of control over his body.

On that day, he was going to be spending more time in the hospital than usual.

If any curious passerby decided to finally approach him, today was the day... though he'd be found either leaning against a wall, sitting in the waiting room, or pacing. He wouldn't be the first to say anything to anyone, even if he did know them. His mind was clearly on something, though he wasn't letting it show on his face whether it was something bad or not.

Drinking wasn't something he often did a ton of in one sitting, but he could be found grabbing one at a bar from time to time.

Most nights, he'd be slowly sipping one a beer... but some nights, he could be found going through a few drinks. On the former nights, he'd pleasantly greet anyone who happened to catch his eyes or even approach them to chat. On the latter nights, he was much more friendly and outgoing, tossing an arm around anyone he was past a first name basis with... or maybe offering to buy them a drink or two.

Whichever was the case, the bar was a place to catch him laughing or joking; perhaps he'd be there just for the socializing... or maybe he was there to catch some sports. Sure, he wasn't a big sports person, but it could be kind of hilarious to watch how into the games people could get. Whether fans of a losing team or winning team, people could get pretty damn rowdy (and... he was also there to be a voice of reason for those who got violent).

Something he hadn't made news for even those he was closest to, was that he was building a cabin (not that he made it a secret, of course; it would have been possible for a certain few to catch on to the fact).

Gladio could be found on every single off day (and sometimes on days he worked a shorter shift than usual) at a cabin -- well... the start of a cabin? Most times, he'd be there with Rufus -- his dog would be running around, usually chasing a ball or chewing on his bone (which he seemed to just love pushing through the dirt first).

For anyone approaching, they'd have to deal with Rufus practically trying to tackle them to the ground in excitement... unless the person knew the... "password" (saying "down" or a hand, palm facing Rufus, lifted to the chest in a gesture for him to lie on his belly/sit -- whichever the dog feels like at the time). While Gladio did have Rufus trained to listen, the dog was harmless towards harmless people who had no ill intentions. He wouldn't be hurting anyone beyond jumping on them for attempted snuggle time...

As for Gladio himself, he would be working hard to get the roof finished -- he was currently ensuring that it was weatherproof.
