( Though their customer base has been almost entirely removed (removed, as in, from this plane of existence), they still had hours, or at least some. There were still visitors - much fewer now given they were limited to serving only Retrospec users - and so there was still some profit to be made during the usual peak times, such as the afternoon.
Miai had the luxury of not having to worry about things like hours, having a decent number of safety nets himself should his finances fall through, and instead spent the morning turning over the memory (or vision, as Suzu called them, which Miai found preferably romantic) he had just received. It was not particularly significant, nor particularly interesting in itself, and yet it was a marvel simply for what it was: a periscope into another world, another life. What a wonderful thing! As it were now, he couldn't wait to get more.
But one thing had come to him, as he played back the memory, albeit somewhat hazy, in his mind. One of the faces in particular was familiar, though he couldn't know for sure until he saw the person in question, though it's true they might not know him, nor might they even have the app. He didn't have their name to check. But the air of mystery, Miai thinks, is what makes it all the more fun; if he'd been able to confirm it so easily, would it really be a thing worth checking?
For now, Miai has just started his break since all of the current customers have just left the shop. the rush hour is over, so he feels a little lazy about putting the "closed" sign up in the window. Besides, he had a sense of who the face in the memory might've been, and Miai was lucky enough that it might be a regular. They ought to be arriving just about now, so Miai was on break . . . for everyone but them. )
